Someone else will get hurt, someone always gets hurt. Loui will live forever in a Canuck uni. -

I'm surprised they haven't said something like Marky is winning the games and making him look good or something to that effect. Good to see the usual suspects for complaints (Myers and Eriksson) getting the job done to silence that crowd as well. -

The players stopped listening to him long ago. Brown is now Green's head bodyguard, that is why he has the earpiece to talk to his cohorts. The PP can only score against weak teams apparently. A lot of weak teams this year I guess. -

Never wondered who it was, but always laughed when I watched this clip of the guy sliding. Funny story and hopefully he gets some tickets to the game tonight with the caveat that he stays in his seat. -

You never know once you hit the playoffs. Even a 1st round sweep will be good experience for this young team and can give management the ability to assess who will be the guys that step up during the playoffs. EP might be one of the few guys that could get into Binnington's head. An unfortunate injury to MAF and Vegas comes down to earth. -
But I thought they stripped his A and lowered his ice time because he sucked. Now he's avoiding the media? What a primadonna.
-
He should be under contract or will be an RFA at least. He likely plays next season, so I imagine he hits the games marks. If he doesn't play this season then maybe he's considered as only a 2nd year pro, but the assumption is he plays this season which makes him a 3 year pro by the time expansion rolls around. We protect OJ, Tryamkin and there isn't really anyone else anyway. Myers maybe, but we can expose him if we choose so which could be cap relief for us, although he has a bonus structure that forces Seattle to pay him a bonus immediately, so I guess it depends if that scares them off and sort of self protects himself. Maybe Stecher, but it would be a minor loss if he's all we lose. Maybe Tanev if we extend him, but can't see us affording it. So it also opens up the possibility of making a FA splash/trade that we can protect that asset.

It was sarcasm Deb. That was for those that only believe Green was good for the dump and chase. I haven't missed anything, I've actually defended Green during our tough stretch.

Who needs to trade for more picks when you can make 2nd/3rd round quality picks in the 7th round?

@xereau that picture of Miller giving the finger, when did that happen? Was he actually giving someone the finger or was it just an (un)fortunate picture of him scratching his head? -
Don't forget the Diaz trade to NYR for their 5th which we used to draft Gaudette. The Hansen and Burrows trades looked like huge wins at the time of the deals and at worst we moved two potential expansion pieces for assets that could be protected (and we got Burrows an extension which ended up as a nice little retirement gift). We also got picks for Eddie Lack who became a dud real quick after the trade (which would be equivalent to some of our "worst" trades). I believe while we did trade away picks, we also acquired picks and in the end we drafted a full allotment of picks over Benning's tenure. We may have given up some high picks, but Benning has more than made up for them with his draft record in the later rounds to make up for it. Cashing in on later picks is just as good IMO considering the odds of the picks anyway. McCann might be only real NHL player that could've helped us and I have my doubts on him really wanting to be here. Kassian was never going to be a player for us. All the other "worst" trades had very little effect on us in the end.

It's okay, Green needs the break from telling the team to dump and chase the puck anyway.

Jim didn't plan on trading Kesler, he wanted out. Even if we wanted him here and felt he would help our team, Kesler didn't give us that option. He has every right to feel like our team was on the decline and we were, but Kesler didn't want to be part of our rebuild, he didn't want the role of helping Bo. We want guys that want to be Canuck and want our forwards to instill that especially coming for our captain. -
Some fans wanted him gone and he almost clawed his way to being an all star coach. Go figure.

Who knows, but it was reported that Green still talks to Tortorella. He even asked him about Motte when we acquired him. So he still has ties to "veteran" coaches. -

You're the one suggesting that he would be more helpful than the Sedins. If your theory is right, then Kesler would've made our team better now had he stayed. It was never one or the other. We would've wanted him to stay at that point. He requested out. Bo is doing just fine on faceoffs. One of the best in the game. Do you think he would win 100% of his draws had he practiced against Kes? Bo has Malhotra as a coach and Beagle as another solid faceoff man and now Miller too. Could he have learned some stuff from Kesler? Maybe, but as a captain, I think not. -
It's been decided already? I thought there was a tweet that said that Vegas needed to win their next two games for it to be decided. There's still a few games before the ASG and we could very well pass them in that time.

Well then thank goodness we have Miller to assist in Bo's leadership and also someone to learn from. Miller doesn't do the cheap stuff either it seems. You think Bo likes to lose? He had the drive to massively improve his skating on top of building size. He's a league leader in faceoffs and has helped this team grow to where they are today and often carrying the team on his back especially the last couple of years when our centers went down. Not bad for a guy only mentored by the Sedins. The Sedins hardly had a stable linemate beyond Burrows for a few years. They carried whoever was placed with them and often it was plugs. This isn't an argument regarding what skills the Sedins vs Kesler provided. I just don't believe that Kesler being here now would've changed how Bo is today and the Sedins never expected Bo to be like them. As mentioned, the Sedins felt Bo would be a good leader is because of who he is already. Kesler wasn't going to make Bo be a player like him just like Messier never changed Naslund as a player, but respected how he was as a captain and his presence. Kesler did give everything he had as a Canuck (which is why I respect his time as a Canuck), but he could've contributed towards building this current team. He decided to jump ship. If you honestly feel our team would be that impactful with his help, then there's no one else to blame but Kesler himself for forcing us to move him. -

Trotz had garbage teams to work with in Nashville, but still made them respectable over time. Washington was a much better team but could never get over that hump and he did so. NYI on paper should be an atrocious team, but he's got them going in an amazing system. IMO Trotz is the best coach in the game. A big reason is that the players love him. Green seems to be well liked by his team, so that's a positive sign. -

There are many reasons why the Sedins are legends. They thank all their teammates and everyone who got them to where they are. Kesler was a very good player for us and I respect his time here. We don't need him to teach Bo anything. What has Kesler done with his new team? He was a good support player and stepped up at crucial times, but it was always the Sedins' team. Anyway the point is Bo isn't emulating the Sedins in game style, but learned the values on how to be a good leader in his own right. If Bo wanted to play the way Kesler did, he could just watch game tape. Being a captain is not just being a leader on the ice, but off of it as well.
