  1. He is definitely a lot closer to Nash speed wise than Clowe. The kid weighs 235, wait till he sheds his baby weight
  2. Yep it's so easy to compare Ritchie to the handful of other big players in the league. The kid really is on a tier of his own though, he makes dangles and can make sweet moves on breakaways And he has a great one timer too. The kid kicks ass
  3. How the hell do you defer that. The kid is going to be 230lbs and has shown signs of aggression and willingness to fight. Oh because he's big against juniour players Well then how in god's name would anyone ever known Lucic would become as intimidating as he is. Yea Ritchie hasn't displayed the absolute beast physicality Lucic has but Lucic is a one of a kind player, and it isn't hard to teach a kid how to play more on the edge. No 18 yr old is intimidating
  4. I wonder how many times kapanen has been compared to datsyuk and kane in this thread. While ritchie literally is better than lucic was in junior You guys are elementary
  5. Yea stick checking doesnt require size. Protexting the puck along the boards and on open ice leads to better posession hence a shutdown system. Just cuz kapanen can strip the puck or make the right check doesnt mean ritchie cant at all. The guy has shown he isnt just a scorer but has the tools for a complete game Kapanen is just a schroeder 2.0 ive aeen ritchie look just as good as kapanen in the regards ur talking spexifically talking about.
  6. Well first of all he's fast and defensibly reliable out playing Bennett in the playoffs with 10 points and the game 7 ot winner 2nd he's a big body ready to fight all the gritty puck battles, and he's naturally bigger to block shots. In tight checking playoff series he naturally will be harder to take the puck off of, and vice versa his speed and size will let him completely strip people of the puck definition of a shutdown guy, as well he can protect the puck really well inb4 I am told size has nothing to do with takeaways (EHLERSS DERRRR KAPANNEEE DPHARPP) 3rd a shutdown system plays a physical type of hockey that fills it's line with fast players that can score off of turnovers and not necessarily relying on sniping goals from the perimeter, dirty goal orientated team that can still has the skill on breakaways. Ritchie can do both but he excels in a cycle system and specifically at finding the open ice to find the tap in, his size aids him in this. He definately needs to work on his two way game, so does every other player in the entire league He's a shutdown guy, he has already demonstrated a lot of hockey IQ it will be used for his two way game and as his stick checking devleop even more Wut? What are you even talking about?
  7. Ritchie has everything to do with a shutdown system
  8. Detroit PP: 0/9 against Boston Nyquist, Tartar, Datsyuk, all useless against the shutdown system Ritchie/Virtanen are the pick
  9. Merci

    Brendan Gaunce | C/LW

Yep Gaunce is as untouchable as Horvat. We need to ship Kesler, Higgins, and hansen out for the best prospects avaliable. tbh Gillis is going to be given a lot of credit for this team in 3-4 years
  10. Ughhh i just cannot accept that you're right. Etem is just the perfect center we need
  11. I don't really care about drafting Virtanen if a trade of him got us say Corry Perry a similar scenario I know Etem is a guarenteed NHLer in a top 9 role. Higgins is a 25 goal scorer on a good team tho, Anaheim would be pushed absolutely over the top. If it took two 2nds I would do it maybe our 1st next year instead of higgins
  12. As for Etem, yea he's from Cali it is going to be an insanely solid deal for the Canucks if they get pry him out of there. He was a PPG player in the AHL last year so the kid is ready. I think we really need to make this deal happen though. Kesler Higgins 2nd Etem 10th overall With Ritchie + Virtanen there is no need for Higgins in his prime, I doubt this deal gets done but it's what it will take to get Etem and the pick
  13. Why do you think all 4 picks weren't on the table? You think Murray offered 1 sts and a 2nd with a straight face?
  14. Cdc definately has way more women and children. Hf is all hockey fans.
  15. Yea an under 18 tournament means squat. Lets judge them on out playing 20yr old dmen
  16. Yea I know 5th overall would have been diabolical
  17. Sorry ur carefully created sig made me think otherwise
  18. Shake ur head we aint getting mcdavid. He isnt even as good as ppl make hes on a team of overagers and they get spanked by guelph Ur posts are weak and ur beard is weird
  19. Lol do you even watch that line theyve made kore highlight passes in 3 weeks than the sedins all year. Thank god for richardson
  20. Nope need ritchie and virtanen. They both define power forward and our main concern right now is offense. Snatorelli kassian richardson and matthias and sedins all play with enough finesse. We need guys who can jam the puck in the net
  21. Anaheim was apparently offering 2 1sts and 2 2nd rounders If we offered them our 2nd for just Etem and the 10th I think they bite. You are literally acquiring Kesler, possibly for the rest of his career to win 3 cups with Getzlaf. By removing no players from your line up and acquiring a devilishly high 2nd rounder. If it takes adding a hansen I do it without hesitation.
  22. People should look at it this way say we get Etem and the 10th for Kesler and our 2nd We would be guaranteed 2 of Ritchie, Virtanen, Perlini, Kapanen, or Ehlers And if one of the top 5 drop we get one of them as well. So this draft year we remove Kesler and inject Etem, Ritchie, Virtanen oh god plz plz plz jesus plz we deserve it
  23. Nah this just affirms we need the 10th overall pick from Anaheim for Kesler right now
  24. No I acknowledge that, but I also acknowledge his skill set and IQ let him excel beyond his physicality. The entire package is why he's a generational player. There is literally a handful ofp layers like him in the league.
  25. Your posts are really dull, did any of those 80 point players have that skill set in such a clunky un athletic body, give your ahead a shake and realize smaller guys naturally have a more NHL ready body with their skating than Ritchie cn ever have. Ritchie is the superior player in a few years
