  1. our attempt at turning into a big team was an undeveloped Kassian and Booth How about we wait for the last 3 years of 1st round picks to develop when the Sedins are hitting 36-37
  2. No the key to this team is to surround the Sedins with players like Ritchie, Kassian, Horvat, Virtanen like Boston does with Bergeron or Marchand their "small players" The last two playoffs I saw Henrik sedin play like CRosby only to have Hansen and Burrows flailed aorund by bigger teams. Please listen to me.
  3. Kapanen is pretty small when you're in the pacific division. If we were the Jets or Carolina Kapanen is a no brainer. But in the pacific division u pick ritchie.
  4. Burke won't take him. I am not stupid enough to think Ritchie is even close to Colle or Draisaitl Only chance of something like that happening is NYI being high on EHlers or something
  5. Any team could use a player like Kapanen. But our team could use Ritchie more, that is the crux.
  6. This thread is so polarizing because the pick seems to decide if we're going to be a fast skilled team or try to be like Boston or LA. I think we should hit the middle and be like SJ I know we can't get into this moving target talk, but players like Jensen, and Ritchie, and Virtanen fit the SJ model perfectly. Fast, Big, Hitting, Scoring, and the passing naturally comes with having a deep skilled core.
  7. I hope he does, we are literally playing for nothing next season
  8. Every draft pick outside top 3 is a roll of the dice. I acknowledge that, I say we roll the Ritchie dice and have said why. Why: Ritchie and Horvat racing for the Calder trophy against each other. With Zack Kassian playing the goofball of the three, The line will be called "The Little Rascals"
  9. Trolling is purposely trying to anger people with nonsensical logical fallacies, with the goal of enjoying their rage. I am just outright saying why Kapanen is a joke of a pick and my reasons are being interpreted as every EU and under 6'0 player is a bust, I am syaing in the year 2014 the Vancouver Canucks current lineup needs Ritchie 10 thousand times more than Kasperi Kapanen. But go ahead keep writing in all caps calling me a 12 year old. I am glad to see the demographics that want Kapanen are similiar.
  10. Exactly, Ritchie has about 5 times the actual talent Sestito has. If you watch some of his playoff games it's all you see. I am not holding back aganist my attack of small players because I genuinely believe the pacific division will eat alive many if not all small players. Yes the Cotures and Shinkaruks have a place, but our team is already small. Kapanen isn't the answer to the big picture. and yea he's 6'0 and 180 not really small. But Ritchie makes him small
  11. Barkov has 48 points in 50 games his draft year, goes 2nd Kapanen has 14 points in 47 games his draft year, goes 6th. Same League makes sense...................................... .x10^1000
  12. Gonna not respond when you can't even read Poking the puck out of corners and having strong control of the puck with possession does not translate from Juniour and Euro leagues into an NHL playoff series. I said he can't? Wut? I said it doesn't translate into the NHL as much as physicality can. you people are not even reading what we wrote because your Kapanen boner is so huge
  13. Ritchie isn't being carried by his size at all, watch a game. And those Euro leagues have dale Weise scoring at a 3ppg pace chump
  14. Difference is Ritchie looks more promising in his Junior career than any other player his size ever has, The list of small fast 40 goal scorers is endless for Ehlers,
  15. This even funnier every small player outside Patrick Kane is pretty much a 3rd round + pick And they wanna use a top 6 overall. What a joke.
  16. Just because you compare Ehlers, Kapanen and Nylander to Kane, Datsyuk, St Louis, Oshie, doesnt mean they'll be anything but a beer leaguer. Weird name I laugh at every time
  17. Not against Burns. The skills to create offense and chances are possessed by every top 10 pick. Ritchie can actually engage in a puck battle against an NHLer Kapanen can't, that is a universal law. Poking the puck out of corners and having strong control of the puck with possession does not translate from Juniour and Euro leagues into an NHL playoff series. Stick checking goes from about twice a play to 10 times a play into the NHL. That speed he has is about half as effective against a professional d core. Size and the ability to physically push people out of the way translates better than what Kapanen is doing now.
  18. Sj is as big if not bigger than la Burns thronton pavelski sheppard marleau Only small player on sj whole team is coture U dont have to sacrifice speed for size which is why nick ritchie is a must pick player
  19. If kassian is any indication i cant wait till after the sedins retire if we have a team full of players like them in their prime
  20. Its because no player has the speed to avoid checks completely. Size and skating strength come into play. This isnt about being soft its about having players that can win puck battles and have the skill to create chances and offense. We dont want ritchie because hes big we want him because he has a skill set that can score and pass and process the game in the body of a tank
  21. The LA SJ series is all out war. We cannot exist in the pacific division and survive if we use our 6th overall on ehlers or kapanen We need to get ritchie and find our way to anaheims 10thoverall
  22. No he'll stay at a solid 226, he's already listed at 238
  23. Those are all mid sized players. With the addition of Ritchie I would agree that yes we finally have the size we need.
  24. No youre wrong Delusion has set it for all of you when u think our team has enough big skilled players heres a hint we have 1 and a half Kassian and matthias
