  1. JS with 2 assists in a 6-3 win over Charlotte.
  2. We'll see whether Lalonde turns into an NHL'er or not. But I will say this: that was a classless move by him in that other game and I'm not going to mince my words: it was awesome to see the Wolves beat them down 6-2, and I hope there's more of that in future! Go Wolves!!
  3. Had a goal yesterday in a 4-1 loss to Peoria.
  4. Agreed. His skating still needs improvement.
  5. And his upper-body strength isn't even all there yet, so expect even better things from him starting next year after bulking up in the offseason (barring any recurring shoulder issues of course... ugh).
  6. Makes sense to me. I know AV has said in the past that in order for Schroeder to make it to the NHL he'd have to dominate at the AHL level but I think a recall couldn't hurt, especially with such an upside like his. I really do think players get better after getting a taste and, after adjusting to the NHL pace, realizing that the AHL isn't so hard after all. The confidence boost and the knowledge gained are probably big factors. I also think Bitz will get a look for the 4th line RW position, if only to spell Weise and remind him to keep playing physical or else there will be others to take your spot. But also to get him to acclimatize to the NHL again if we need him in the playoffs. However, I'm not sure if we can even afford to recall Schroeder. Doesn't he have a cap hit of 1 mil or something? The Nucks might not have the space.
  7. Nice to see his hard work finally starting to pay off. If he keeps shooting the puck as much as he does the production has to come sooner rather than later.
  8. 4g, 8a (12 pts) in 27 games, -4. Apparently he's found some good chemistry with Schroeder.
  9. 9 goals, 11 assists for 20 pts in 38 games. One more goal and he matches his total from last year. Also already got a career high in PIM with 14. Another thing is he's finally back at even after being a minus for much of the season.
  10. 14 pts in 18 GP, good to see him getting confidence back.
  11. Hey Boston... looks like Burrows just took a BITE outta ya!
  12. Great piece on Burrows over at CanucksArmy: Perception vs. Reality - The Alex Burrows Story This one's for you, Clutch.
  13. This is so true. Burrows actually makes them better, whereas Pyatt and Bernier never could do that. He works so well with them because he isn't only the recipient of those Sedin passes, he makes plays along with them too instead of just going to the front of the net and staying there. Such a smart player and a perfect compliment to them too.
  14. It's been a while since we saw him score some shorties, hopefully he gets a few more this season and becomes #1 all-time for Canucks!
  15. ^ We gotta preserve that legendary minus rating forever somehow!
  16. It's hard to say what Archibald projects to be - he could turn out to be anything from a 2nd liner to career AHLer depending on how his skating comes along I think. I have hopes that Anthony will pan out and become a good 3rd liner for us, with inconsistencies with production every now and then. I also disagree that Schroeder will only get a handful of games. He's clearly got the skill and vision, and has been playing with that much-needed drive and willingness to get to the dirty areas. He's snake-bitten right now but will only get better. Numbers don't tell the whole story.
  17. Compared to the start of the year where he had 4 points and a -5 rating in his first 9 games, Schroeder has 5 points but +4 in his last 9 games. He's been shooting the puck a lot more this year but they just haven't seemed to be going in for him, so hopefully his puck luck improves and we see an increase in production. Still being trusted defensively so that's always a good sign.
  18. Looks like you were right. Go Trois Kronor!!!
  19. Hope he finds his game again with the K-Wings. Got 1 goal and -2 in 2 games with Kalamazoo already, at least. The jump to the AHL is harder than people think. He has time and will improve with hard work.
  20. Thanks DJ! JS and Hodgson are similar in that they'e both much better at centre than wing, and it's terrific to know that he's finding chemistry with Rodin. Last year Hodgson was the Moose's best player hands down as Claude Noel kept saying, but the finish wasn't there on a lot of nights. Kind of how like it is with JS right now. Both guys were generating lots of chances but they just weren't going in for some reason. It's just weird how our prospects all seem to be going through this recently. I'd love for them to start potting more goals.
  21. Rodin now has 2g and 3a and is a -2 in 11 games this year with the Wolves, and is now playing on a line with Schroeder.
  22. Back-to-back games with goals now. Is he gonna score on the back-to-back against the Yotes and Sharks too?!
