Timberwolves win top pick. Warriors pick #2. Going to be a fascinating draft.

I think he enjoyed playing dumb/ purposefully obtuse. I saw some of his posts on the other board, he was arguing the phrase "kick you out" implies physical violence regardless of context. It was the same kind of silliness that he got up to here.

When that puck went in off of Benn and over Markstrom's pad, I thought here we go again... Then that bogus penalty call gave them the PP and they scored, I thought that's it, they will never recover from this. To have the resiliency to come back and score three goals, lose Edler to a freak accident and still pull through. That's resiliency that I never expected to see this early. I have always been conservative about our chances considering the inexperience of our core. They are showing us that we have a lot to be excited about going forward. Its not enough to just have talent but you have to have some heart and these group just has it in spades. Win or lose I will be cheering them on all the way to the end without any reservations. Go Canucks Go.

That's just way too far-fetched. Anyone who has been following QAnon knows that Obama (aka. Voldemort) likes to run things from the shadows. He will use his puppet, Sleepy Joe (ie. Pius Thicknesse), who is being controlled by mind-bending 5G technology (ie. Imperius Curse).

I don't know, something smells fishy here. *Puts tinfoil hat on* Yes... yes I am seeing it now... Putin creates the virus in a lab in Siberia, releases it in Wuhan, China. Knowing that his own appointed useful idiot would bungle the handling of the virus and China would take the lion's share of the blame and suffer the ire of the rest of the world. Now Putin magically has a vaccine and we are still in August, the rest of the world still well behind. Putin will now use the vaccine as leverage to exploit the world completing the master stroke.

You do the debates because from all evidence the longer Trump talks the more he discredits himself. You also have to try and win over the undecided voters. Elections are about pushing your advantage, if you sit on your laurels and expect to hold your lead then you risk winding up in the same position as Hillary.

MPJ looks like a future superstar, he has also quite recently claimed his spot on the All-Conspiracy team along side Kyrie Irving and Dwight Howard. He is on a HOF trajectory.

You could go back to his junior days in this thread, and people are questioning whether the coaching staff has a vendetta against him. A theory was even posited that one of the owners of the Hitmen was a minority stake holder on the Flames. Even you look back to the ice time he got in his draft +1 year, he was never very high up there. And this is the CHL where any half decent player gets spoon fed tons of ice time.

I have done quite a bit of travelling and living abroad. The average person in this world lives in abject poverty, with inability to access higher education. Most also live in homogenized places and often never leave those places to explore the world. They are doomed to a miserable existence without the ability to comprehend their situation and put it into context. You have literally zero in common with these people. Their ignorance actually has a justification. Your's does not. I have never seen any non-white person react negatively when a white person becomes a 'defender' especially with it comes to racism and discrimination. Its only when people start to see themselves as the 'saviour' that people react negatively. Also no one cares who you have spoken to, stop trying to reinforce your views by saying that non-whites share them as well. You really don't have a higher understanding of non-whites or their culture. For one there are so many different people from different cultures out there in this world. Having spent considerable amount of time outside NA, living abroad (not just visiting), I have barely scratched the surface as far as my understanding of different cultures. Not sure if this is arrogance or racism, probably a bit of both. Speaking out of both sides of your mouth, you mean. If you were against racism you wouldn't be championing the idea that people of different cultures cannot co-exist together. -

This was the speech Malcolm X made in 1963, this was back when he was still part of the NOI (Nation of Islam) and still a supporter of Elijah Muhammad and his belief that blacks and whites could not co-exist together and needed to be separated. Malcolm saw the power of multiculturalism when he visited Mecca, when he saw worshipers of different background, cultures etc. When those same people treated him with respect and did not hold him being black against him, it was his hope for what America could be. Its not surprising that neo-Nazis, white supremacists, ethnocentric nationalists love to quote Malcolm X from his time with the NOI, they were big fans of him when he was preaching separation. But it seems they don't like to quote him after he changed his stance, then he became a threat just like the rest of the black people they hated, trying to carve out a place for himself and his own in white America. -

Someone will definitely sign. WTF* probably already has an offer on the table, they are one of those teams whose reputation would actually be greatly enhanced by association with Antonio Brown. Washington Team Football

It is my opinion that fixating on the cause of death doesn't exactly give you the entire context. Perhaps this topic hits me too close to home for me, I will just say it is my firm belief that cancer should never be a footnote.
-
If a 20 something year old with AIDS gets the coronavirus and dies, do you simply ignore one virus and fixate on the other? If so you are being myopic for whatever reason, perhaps the same one as the poster I quoted.
-
I meant he is a stage IV cancer survivor and considering his advanced age, that to me definitely puts him in the high risk category. If your immune system is seriously compromised, that is still playing a part in your death even though COVID ends up being the final blow.
-
He had late stage cancer so I am surmising that did a number on his body. Personally I see it as important that we acknowledge some underlying conditions when someone dies of COVID, it helps us understand who are the most vulnerable in society. I believe the poster's response was politically motivated, regardless I think it was partially correct.
-
Maybe, but it was terminal stupidity that accelerated his demise. Regardless condolences to his loved ones.

I don't believe record in a small sample size spread out over years is necessarily indicative of who is the better coach, Maurice has more experience than Green but I haven't been blown away by what he has done while coaching the Jets. He's had some pretty good teams and yet I can only remember them underachieving in the playoffs. Now I am not particularly impressed by Green either, while I am not on the 'Fire Green' train, I do have him on short leash. We don't have 9 forwards better than Virtanen, let alone 13. Green going back to his AHL days has a propensity to stick with the plugs who can make the safe play over the players with the talent to actually impact the game. I can't deny I was irked when i saw that Jake was scratched. If it is a matter of fitness then I have no issue with it, team culture takes precedence over everything else. But if Green really believed that the lineup that he iced gave us the best chance to win then he maybe the problem and Benning had better start scouring for solutions.

I read a compelling article the other day saying that there likely won't be a noticeable second wave, it will be just one big wave, which we can hopefully keep flattened. I also read some sources that say the seasonal flu numbers are going to be way down as well because of mask use and social distancing, and other measures like sanitizing and hand washing should also bring down numbers. We shall see.

Great book, amazing read as always. Chapter 5 is a real tear-jerker, all the kids get guns to exercise their 2A rights and protect them from potential grizzlies. Inspired writing.
