  1. Well done, the colours, spirit and tone are on point, thank you.
  2. Yeah sign me up, I would do a trade like that in a minute. My only caveat is that Luke agrees to return to the Canucks for the next season.
  3. Well if EK is going to the Oil I hope the Sharks take them for all they're worth.
  4. Until it is proven otherwise I think it is reasonable to assume the affirmative. Each player who has participated in or is aware of this type of behavior is complicit. Just imagine for a moment that you are so consumed with your own place on a team that you knowingly discount these activities. It is apparent everyone involved has rationalized bad behavior as normal and they are essentially saying all that matters is their selfish pursuit of a career. Do we really care about the integrity of the sport? Can fans play a grass-roots role to help change the culture of the game of hockey we each profess to love?
  5. The people who condone this behavior or who look the other way need to be exposed. There will be no significant change unless the people in positions of power are removed for gross negligence.
  6. IMHO an underlying reason for the tensions and divisions seen in American society today stem from the fact of a growing diversification of their population. By 2050 the demographics will have changed forever. Americans are afraid of themselves.
  7. If you can't out score Oilers at least hit them. Don't just hit to stop them, hit to hurt. And quit trying to check the puck from McDick. Take the body.
  8. IMO to have any chance to win tonight's game you've got to focus on McDick. I know, I realize that is easier said than done. Having seen many of the Oil games this is how I would coach. Put a player to shadow him, make it a team assignment. A key is to take the body as soon as he receives the puck. Whenever you can take the body, hit hard and forget about the puck. Finally don't forget about Drai, you can't leave him alone. If the Oil are on the power play assign 1 guy each to McDick and Drai and let the other 2 defend the other three players. There you go, it's just that simple. That's free advice, make it happen boys.
  9. No Thanks. Horvat is a better player today and tomorrow. For a 1st round draft pick this year, plus Wright then we have a deal.
  10. Totally agree, Rutherford hasn't shown much of anything so far. If the team starts next season with a similar record it will definitely be time for a management makeover.
  11. I for one trade a draft pick, or Horvat or Schenn. Otherwise trade Miller to the first taker as long as we do not have to retain any salary.
  12. Living in E-town I see a lot of McDick. If I was king of the world here is what I would attempt to do to win a game at Rogers Place. Commit one player on each line and on each shift to shadow him and Drai. Oh, and stay out of the box. Good luck boys!
  13. It will be interesting to see if the boys have the balls to make half of this happen. Cheers!
  14. Shadow McDick and Drai and the team has a fighting chance. Good luck!
  15. Question: What exactly does "emergency conditions" actually mean in NHL language?
  16. This season is really discouraging. I have now words. It feels like a f'ing gong show. This is getting difficult. Sorry!
  17. I like O'Reilly's game, but because he is a UFA and a couple of years older than Miller I can see the Canucks asking for a third round pick in addition to the player swap.
  18. Think that means he will be back to play the Oilers next week. Perfect timing.
  19. So he won't be playing when the Canucks meet the Habs this Wednesday?
  20. What about Paul Maurice? Seems to me he is capable, just not sure he is interested in coaching again. Would he be a good fit for the Canucks?
  21. There will be a time and place for Nurse. One day, one way. What goes around comes around.
  22. Who else is impressed by Coach Colliton? Have to admit I didn't pay attention to his hire and know little about him. That being said as a long-time fan I really enjoyed his interviews during the Young Stars tournament. He is a fresh face and voice decidedly different from the old stereotype of a minor league hockey coach. The team continues to invest in quality people which is a good sign for the short and long term. Opinions?
  23. RNH is no Bo Horvat. Period, end of story. My guess is Bo will sign an eight year contract for an average per season rate of a low of $6 and a maximum of $7 million.
  24. Are you ready for some football, I'm in and in the first week going with the with Rams.
