  1. Proud of my team. Thinking Jim knows who he wants to hire as GM and likely ran these Assistants by him/her before announcing them.
  2. Maybe, just maybe, we are over-valueing Brock. You think?
  3. If the Canucks make the playoffs I will perform an act of your choice in the privacy of your own home.
  4. So what date can we expect him to be back practicing/playing?
  5. You may see something different than me and I was wrong once before, but I just don't think Zack has anymore juice to play the game. I can't imagine he could perform with greater consitency than any healthy player in our top two lines. Cheers.
  6. JM, Zack is not the player he once was, I know because living in E-town I catch most of the Oil games. He has had too many hits to the head and is simply not as effective as years past. Also his contract is definitely an overpayment for what he has produced this season. IMO the Canucks have more use for a decent back-up goaltender than Zack who unfortunately has experienced a real drop off in on-ice performance.
  7. Hey Sisters and Brothers, a most happy and healthy new year to you all. Cheers!
  8. Hey Alf, living in Edmonton, I married into a family who are either fans of the Oilers or the Canadians. Growing up in the lower mainland I have no time for either. I remain hopeful my team will drink from Lord Stanley's cup within my life time. Best regards, Bob
  9. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to my friends at CDC. Here is hoping our team enjoys success in 2022. Cheers!
  10. Well, I for one agree with the first poster. You may have a different opinion and I respect that, however mocking the premise of his/her comment is not necessary. Think about it, spitting, specially while sitting on the bench is an unhealthy habit at best. This is not about a proposed penalty, it is simply about the health and safety of the players we all care about.
  11. Agree that one of Boeser or Miller will be traded before next season. That seems to be the elder Jimbo's MO, just hope he doesn't trade away our first round draft pick.
  12. Hope he is a better President than he was a goalie. Here's wishing him the best of luck. Cheers!
  13. C'mon man, you don't have to stoop to name calling to make a point. It is unecessary and adds nothing to your argument.
  14. I agree with you, however I cannot imagine any hockey players will follow suit.
  15. The Canucks have been fortunate to have a reasonably long list of good-to-great goalies over the years. Thatcher is the latest and he will only get better.
  16. We he still be suspended when we play the Jets this Friday?
  17. Agree, a trade for a draft pick makes sense. Motte seem to me to be the type of player whose body breakdowns after a few good years given his style of play. For that reason I would be inclined to move him at this stage of his career.
  18. My hope for the team is that we can regain a level of respectability on and off the ice. The spotlight is now squarely on the players to perform and the remainder ofthe season will likely be the last for some. Although I thought the handling of these significant changes were reasonably well handled under the circumstances, I think the Canucks can do a better job of communications with their stakeholders, especially the fans. I wish everyone involved the very best, cheers!
  19. As I recall Mellanby's father also has a long history of involvement with the NHL. Scott definitely deserves consideration assuming the Canucks search for another GM.
  20. Thanks, but no thanks. He's earned some down time and we deserve better.
  21. If anything Jimbo should trade assets at the deadline to gain more draft picks this year.
  22. Forgive me Canucks fans, this goes back to when the Blazers played in Vancouver, probably 1973. A buddy from high school began working for Labatts Brewery and had access to the press box at the Pacififc Coliseum. I remember sitting up there drinking Blue and watching Fast Eddie Hatoum, John (pie-face) McKenzie, plus Andy Bathgate and Ron Chipperfield play to some of the largest crowds ever in the World Hockey Association.
