  1. I think Jersey has enough speed/skill variety. I’d be looking for veteran grit and depth. Kane seems a bit redundant to me
  2. …meaning there’s no real interest as that would not be necessary if there were interested teams, which I assume the team has already looked for
  3. So Canucks management has given permission to the agent to facilitate a trade?? Meaning management can’t find a taker on their own…. Am I missing something? How would the agent facilitate a deal exactly? Are they going to convince other teams to want Brock like they dont have their own pro scouts? Not really sure how this will help. Sounds like we will just be taking someone else’s dead salary at best.
  4. This really makes me wonder about the quote I read about demkos health last off-season… can’t remember who said it, but they were adamant that the Canucks should move thatcher at peak value before his health inevitably deteriorated, which was apparent to them.
  5. Yeah… I can’t see many takers on Boeser until he shows some consistency in his game. He’s been fragile since he’s been here, which may just have been bad luck, but I do t see anything in his game currently to make him remotely close to the salary he’s at, and in a flat cap world the only teams interested would likely want an extra piece to take his contract. reality suggests that Canucks have to put him into roles he can succeed with and hope he can regain his scoring touch. Really reminds me of David Booth. Like Miller, should have moved on last off-season as cap space and roster flexibility is more valuable than their on ice performance
  6. Not at all what I said. Lekkerimakki is the bust. I’d be happy to be proven wrong, but I’ve seen this player live and I don’t think he has enough speed or intangible play for the NHL. He may be effective enough with the offensive instinct and shot to project as a PP threat, but I don’t see much more here.
  7. Boeser + Myers for Gavrikov + Nyquist (UFA 2023) + 3rd Pearson + Poolman + Lekkerimakki to AZ for “future considerations” re-sign Bo, Kuz, Gavrikov, Schenn Sign Zub via UFA ————————— Miller Horvat Garland Kuz Petey Mikheyev Podkolzin Karlsson/Dries/ufa Hoglander Joshua Aman Lazar Hughes Zub Gavrikov Bear OEL Schenn Demko Martin
  8. No thanx. Canucks need cerebral defensive D that can move the puck. ie: Chris Tanev
  9. Just gonna go on a limb and say… Vancouver means a whole lot to Bo Horvat, regardless of current team success. He and his family very much want to stay long term as they are very invested in local community. It’s their home. Money will be important, and I do think he does re-sign if Van comes reasonably close to the ask, given that there isn’t any C depth in the organization outside Bo and Petey, management will probably elect to keep their captain as no one will want to part with a top prospect C/D for a rental…. And Rightfully so But why negotiate with a player on an early season hot streak when they haven’t shown this level of consistency yet in their veteran career? Canucks aren’t making the playoffs. Wait until January, see where the team/Horvat are at instead of pretending we are signing Steven Stamkos…. All due respect to Horvat, he’s a strong 2C. he is overrated right now… both Horvat and Miller are offensive players good at faceoffs, but neither have EVER been strong defensive/pk players, nor has Horvat ever been a consistent play driver…. Bo can crash the crease with above average hands and a very strong snap shot… but most of his points will come via PP. currently Bo is shooting at 23%, his career aav hovers around 13%. He has 10 ES points in 16 games. Two whole ES assists in 16 games… Im sorry but he ain’t an 8M player. I would cut ties personally if there is an offer with a younger C with a skill set to distribute the puck and drive quality chances… But I highly doubt this kind of player will be available… unless of course Bo continues to score… I say fools gold.
  10. No one wants OEL or Garland at their current contracts. This was an emergency deal as they had to do something after losing Tanev and Toffoli for free thanx to ownership/covid. just bad asset management all together when you had two strong assets that wanted to remain on your team who wouldn’t have broken the cap…or cost future assets. Since then we have mistake after mistake trying to bandaid and replicate the “bubble team”… now we are stuck in purgatory like it or not. they may force another bad contract (Horvat), which they probably should because of the lack of reliable C depth, but won’t because they don’t want Miller v2. Signing veteran players after career season is a risky play. I doubt they do it again should Horvat continue to score at a healthy rate. All I want is a rebuild ffs. start over alla expansion. trade every single valuable asset for the best offer. take bad contracts for picks. keep your mistakes instead of giving up assets. draft D/C speed/compete/skill/size heavy. start doing the things necessary to build a real contender. This will likely take another 5-10 years of bad hockey…. But the honest reality is we will continue to suck and not improve because we have a few really skilled players that occasionally play really good, but ultimately just too many warts with this group. Too many high event players leading to error after error. I’m sure we will continue to add project wingers with our 1st picks and gamble on high event one dimensional players throughout…. No stability, no guts… total opposite to what the franchise culture became with the likes of Steamer, Linden, Bertuzzi, Ohlund, Burrows, Kesler, the Sedins, etc. Diligent hard work with a touch of nasty was our primary identity..Forcing teams to grind for a win. Now we are mostly skill focused and get pushed around most nights. This is not winning NHL hockey. Skill should be the complementary attribute to being diligently structured, hard working, and outright nasty to play against… Blue Collar West Coast Canadian hockey is the identity we should strive for. Build from there and watch success follow. Until then Canucks faithful, stay sane lol.
  11. Don’t think he’ll break 50, but well on his way for 35+. If this is a real step, can’t see how every contender won’t want a piece… He’s playing himself off the team imo.
  12. Upgraded C depth… likely see another deal like this, especially if they plan to move Horvat as the season moves along.
  13. I’d be rolling: Kuzmenko Petterson Miller Garland Horvat Boeser Mikheyev Aman Podkolzin Joshua Lazar Hoglander Pearson
  14. This was a brutal trade as much as i am a garland fan. Imagine a world where we re-sign Tanev and keep the cap savings/picks given up in this package. complete disgrace of asset management. I see Dickinson scoring again… and wondering once again why we are giving up picks to solve problems, only to create more problems I have been following this team since ‘91… and am fully on board for a scorched earth rebuild. with the exception of Petey, Huggy, and Demko, I’d trade the rest of this group for picks and prospects where applicable. Should have traded Miller when we had the chance. Ain’t no one taking that deal now. say goodbye to our captain for sure… and tank hard for bedard
  15. Troy Terry @Phil The Thrill Final Roster Crosby Pettersson Nylander Svechnikov Robertson Duchene Norris Zegras Terry Makar Dobson Hamiton
  16. He was so bad for a few years there. Looks like he’s got that mojo back again tho!
  17. I was debating between LR and Dobson. Both poised for big years
