  1. This post is horrible. "Gotta be at least 2 mafia in that list" Uhhhhh. There are only two mafia in the whole game.
  2. Does a town player even bother to write what Blue Jay 22 just wrote? Like, first he responds to my post by copying my fluff/ignore message (which is fine). Now, he's writing an essay and then tries to the focus around on me. Strike 2? Uhhhhh. Not good looks!
  3. No night 1 mafia-kill would also make sense to want to retain a mafia teammate this early on.
  4. He keeps defending Zfetch and I don't see why he would at this point in the game. At the same time, he's also phrased his last post in a way that opens it up for him to vote Zfetch later on. In other words, he's laying trax to come away clean.
  5. Blue Jay 22 probably mafia teammates with Zfetch or a mafia that knows Zfetch would pop town. In either case, unvote, vote Blue Jay 22
  6. Unvote, Vote Zfetch luckylager next round. Game solved.
  7. Jean-Sebastian Aubin, Doug Janik, and Randy Robitaille have been placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Iowa.
  8. We have a trade to announce: To Anaheim: Wade Meyers, 2009 Detroit 3rd To Atlanta: P.A. Parenteau
  9. After another early playoff exit, the retirement of key dressing room figures, and many players needing new contracts (which in-turn spelled the end for many of our depth guys), the Dallas Stars entered the off-season knowing that we would have have to make major changes to keep our organization steering in the right direction. The Draft The 2008 NHL Entry Draft saw the Dallas Stars make two major moves on the trade front. The first move was to ship star forward Jussi Jokinen to divisional rivals, Los Angeles, in a deal that saw us receive the 10th overall pick and forward Sean Avery as notable pieces. With a top 10 draft pick secured, we decided to accumulate more assets through our 19th overall draft pick. In a trade that developed itself into a 4-way deal, we shipped our 19th overall and veteran defenceman Philippe Boucher to Edmonton for Petr Sykora and a package of draft picks. We immediately moved Sykora , as well as Jan Hejda and a draft pick, to Nashville for center Jason Arnott, a former player of ours and one that we knew could replace the hole in our top 6 left behind by Mike Modano. Of course, Skyora didn't last in Nashville too long as he was eventually moved to the Columbus Blue Jackets. In total, we selected four times. By the end of the draft, we added defencemen Todd Thompson (9.0C) and Tyler Cuma (8.0D), forwards Jaromir Kriz (8.0D) and Riley Nash (7.5D), and through trade, added defenceman Pat Blunden (7.5D) to our prospect pool. Free-Agency Going into free-agency, the Dallas Stars had the task of replacing both their retired and departing players, while also ensuring that they were able to stay competitive going into the 2008/2009 season. The first order of business was to promote from within. While James Neal and Matt Niskanen were planned graduates, a surprise graduate who made the team was Tom Wandell, who posted 57 points in his rookie campaign on our AHL affiliate in Iowa. Having these players occupy roster spots, we decided to target experience and role players to help fill the rest of our team. On the first day of free-agency, we signed forwards Bill Guerin, Matt Cooke, and Bryan Smolinski. We were ecstatic to land these players because they had a lengthy amount of NHL experience between them and history of being contributors to their teams. What was big for us was adding Guerin (2002-2006) and Smolinski (2007), players who had previously played for our team and were aware of the expectations that came with being Dallas Stars, something that we wanted our young players to take note of. On the second day of free-agency, we wrapped up our business by bringing back former Stars, RIchard Matvichuk and Johan Hedberg. In perhaps our most experimental move to date, we decided to bring in a defenceman who had been buried in the minors by his old team for two seasons. Richard was a loyal servant for many years (1991-2004) and we felt it was fitting to give him another shot in the NHL to see if that could add some longevity to his career and to see if he could help mentor defenceman Matt Niskanen. Johan, previously here during the 2006 season, will return to our team as one of the league's higher end back-up goaltenders and should give us a chance in most games when Marty Turco does not start. The Season We go into the 2008/2009 season like this: Brendan Morrow - Mike Ribeiro - Loui Eriksson James Neal - Jason Arnott - Bill Guerin Jere Lehtinen - Tom Wandell - Enver Lisin Steve Ott - Sean Avery - Matt Cooke Andy Sutton - Sergei Zubov Trevor Daley - Stephane Robidas Richard Matvichuk - Matt Niskanen Marty Turco Johan Hedberg ex. Bryan Smolinski While the team has taken a noticeable step back from where we were last year, it cannot be disputed that the team has still set itself up to be among the playoff teams. We anticipate that we will be battling with teams like Columbus, St. Louis, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Colorado, Edmonton, and Phoenix all year long for a place in the bottom four playoff spots. It might be naive to say that our goal is to win the Stanley Cup this year but we know that long-term, we have the prospect pool to step in and bring us back to the top sooner rather than later.
  10. Vote Sharpshooter. His absence so far is a classic scum move.
