  1. Remember when we were falling from 2011 grace and our top prospects were Jensen, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Horvat, Corrado, Subban, Lack, McNally, Labate, and Tommernes (in no particular order)

      No doubt Benning has been a gold miner with some of his draft picks. That's always been his strength. Trades and FA signings on the other hand have been less than stellar when it comes to the team's present predicament.

      Benning needs to go , we have some good pieces , he is not the man to take this roster to the next level. He has shown his terrible incompetence already. Good drafter, terrible at basically every other aspect.

      To be fair, in 2011, an unheralded undrafted but signed as a free agent amateur, Christopher Tanev was 20 years old.  He would be 24 years old when Benning became GM.  And Dan Hamhuis in 2011 was two years younger than Schmidt is now.

       

      No this isn't specifically a knock against Benning or something for Gillis but rather, we don't know who will 'pop out of the woodwork' and surprise us out of current set of prospects.
