Owen Power scored his first NHL goal and has gone on to score every game since, he's up to three goals in three straight games now
Dude is gonna be great
There will be a weeping and gnashing of teeth from those who've gradually come to the conclusion that "Bo bad, Bo gotta go" when they realize he's here for another 7-8 years. If he stays.
I don't think it'll happen but it'd be hilarious. I think he goes and that Miller should too. Eject the vets, our window is further out than what's remaining of their prime.
Our contention window anyway imo.
I do think it'll get done sooner or later, I just don't expect those who cry about how players should take discounts being thrilled when he doesn't take a significant discount
Nothing wrong with players getting full value, it's a business
I see 10M as more as the starting point imo. I reckon he's more 10.5-11M. Possibly more if he waits to extend, continues to put up the numbers he is, and then begins negotiating.
Cap is set to jump quite significantly and it's always the guys at the top who grab more of the pie. Why wouldn't he want some of that pie?
Pending RFA who could accept a one year qualifying offer and walk.
It'd be in his best interest to wait if he believes he can sustain his current pace or improve upon it, it'd likely result in a larger payday.
That only matters if you actually believe the Canucks will do anything meaningful over the next four seasons. I don't, I've been firm since last summer in that we're probably at least four seasons out from contention and we've looked even worse than I thought we would.
We'd be better off with his cap space, or some of his cap space imo.
I'll be a little surprised if that gets done this summer, I feel like it'd be more in Pettersson's interest to wait. The Canucks would no doubt like to get something done sooner in order to try and get a more cost effective deal done.
Could want to play for a winner, all he's done for the most part during his tenure as a Canuck is lose
And, well, I don't expect that to change any time soon, could be he doesn't either
