  1. Hard to say, I've never had anyone with a definitive answer to that that they can back up with a source.
  2. Oh def Whether management has it in them to actually sell him in a couple years if we're (probably) still floundering around is another matter I'm not an overly optimistic Canucks fan, they've done a pretty good job snuffing that out
  3. If they weren't willing to trade Schneider last season I don't see why they'd do it now. New York is strong down the right side but not quite as strong down the left, Miller also gives them size on the back end. Miller is also second on the Rangers D this season with 25 points in 48 games, ranking only behind Fox. As for Columbus. Sure, and he has higher pedigree. He's 6'3", having a great year offensively in the AHL, a recent 6OA pick who's also an RD. Columbus is further away than closer anyway, his being younger actually works for them. They can afford to be patient as they're still in a bottom feeder stage anyway. Bringing in a Horvat isn't going to seriously alter their trajectory regardless as to whether they need a center or not. Gaudreau and Laine being there or not. They'd probably move out Boqvist first, or a guy like Mateychuk or Ceulemans. I don't know, I think NYI would prefer to win sooner or later and I question whether they'd extend Bailey after this current deal anyway. His not having much term left is why I'd be targeting him in a Miller trade.
  4. Yup, I'd be all over trading Miller at 50% for the remainder of this season.
  5. I hope we do, I don't see us being a surefire playoff team in two years let alone a contender I don't expect us to be as lousy as we've been but I think some folks underestimate how challenging it is to acquire and build a quality defensive core
  6. I'd have moved him too But we can move him in a couple years, odds are we'll still be towards the bottom or floating in no man's land
  7. I doubt NYR trades Miller, I also doubt Columbus would trade Jiricek as he projects as a future #1. I think Miller to NYI makes a lot of sense though, I've proposed him for Bailey+. Being willing to retain opens plenty of doors, certainly.
  8. Give him a bit, he needs to reconfigure his script Just mostly Miller to the moon for a pile of space rocks
  9. Plot twist, they sign Bo and send Miller somewhere else
  10. Everyone is available for the right price, everyone. I see thise two as building blocks, absolutely, but any GM worth their salt takes calls on ALL players. If soneone wanted to offer up an absurd price for either yeah, I night pull the trigger. I could see Hughes going eventually anyway. Why wouldnt Jersey take him for nothing but money as a UFA? as for management and what's been reported, who really knows? Could slot Horvat to the wing, could play him at 3C. Having extra centers up front is never a bad thing. If he's a rental it'd be worth it if they go deep. Does Petey v2 have a CDC account
  11. No, we're shipping you and Hughes to Long Island for Barzal and Dobson Don't have to rebuild around Pettersson or Hughes if they're gone
  12. We root for the Canucks, I fully expect us to flounder
  13. Cool, if we're still floundering roughly two years from now we can flip him at 50% Wouldn't shock me
  14. 4-3 Canucks, hoping I'm wrong and that the BJ's pull it out Horvat I know, I know.. phrasing
  15. I think we'll see more of it going forward, it was pretty funny. I've seen fans from other fanbases mention they're going to try and get chants going when we roll into their barn. Bruce is pretty well liked around the league and the Canucks front office aren't well thought of by the fanbases of other teams. All you've gotta do is go look at any hockey forum that isn't strictly Canucks oriented.
  16. I wish. Folks are teasing Heffy but honestly, there are plenty of fans who are starting to hit their breaking point and walk away. I think management underestimates the Bruce bit tbh, that really painted the Canucks organization in an awful light. Had a buddy this morning message me and tell me he doesn't think he can follow/support the Canucks anymore. The longer we continue to spin our wheels the more fans are just going to walk away. I'd at least ship out Horvat and Miller, I don't think a retool will be enough. That's basically where I'm at. I'd throw Podz in there too along with other younger prospects. I'd be okay with Demko staying but I'm open to moving him too. Devils have a more appealing pool imo but the Stars could be interesting. Both could potentially win a cup with Horvat. Pavelski ain't getting any younger, neither is Benn. Would make sense to try and go for it. I kinda figure the Stars would be more willing to pay than the Devils because of that. I don't think we're in stealth mode anymore, we just suck
  17. I don't think we'd be a surefire playoff team. We'd be fun to watch, sure, but I do think our defense would ultimately do us in. Same could be said of his going to Anaheim, he's just one piece at the end of the day. I think it'd be enough to get us in the mix though, and there would likely be other moves during the summer. Also depends on what happens with Demko and what him bouncing back looks like, same goes for special teams.
  18. Martin earned a chance last season. The reality is a healthy Demko probably wouldn't have us winning many more games either, not given how the team has played up front and in their own zone this season. We might just have fewer goals against.
  19. But this super management group is going to turn things around and have us contending within two seasons
  20. Eh, edge isn't going to fast-track turning around our defense, unconventionality isn't going to restock our prospect cupboards. This team needs some serious surgery and it'll likely be a longer process to turn things around than people will probably like imo. That's what you get when you keep failing at retools over and over again. If the Canucks had actually committed to a rebuild years ago they'd probably be better off. I don't think Tocchet will be around when this team is actually competitive again on a regular basis, I reckon he's another stopgap who might be around long enough to shift things but thats it. We'll see. This management group seems as stubborn as the last one, not all that confident.
  21. I mean, why would he have? He's a coach who could put a team over the top, he'd have teams lining up to pay him. Why would he ever come to a bottom feeder?
  22. Doubtful, I reckon it'll be a process that outlives JR'S role here I said probs at least four years out from contention throughout the summer, could ve longer, I didn't think we'd look this bad
