  1. Ahhh, not sure I knew you also rooted for the Habs. At least one of your two teams probably has a bright future. That's Alf, that's his schtick, he'll recognize the game of individual players and then turn around and dump on prospects belonging to other teams, and on other teams themselves. Unless it's Toronto, he's got a weird affection for Toronto that I just don't understand. But I also hate Toronto as a team as well as their media, but not their individual players. Centre of the universe, yadda, yadda, yadda. Gets old. I'm a Canucks fan but I have more fun following the league as whole for the most part than I did just following the Canucks.
  2. They aren't trading Suzuki, Habs are still in their rebuilding phase. Horvat would make sense if they were further along in their competitive cycle. They sold hard last season and will be in the mix for another lottery pick or two this season, Horvat doesn't fit.
  3. It'll be a shock if he doesn't hit 50 again given he's got roughly half a season to do it, what an unbelievable talent.
  4. Yup, tough luck for the Habs but I don't care whether they're competitive or not, I want them to squeeze out wins somehow to bump them higher up in the standings. Every win by a bottom feeder is good for us at this point. They'll have a bright future given their pile of prospects, picks, and the young NHL talent on their roster. Likely brighter than ours if they hit on several of said picks and prospects.
  5. Columbus up 3-0 on Detroit, hopefully they can hold on and win that one. Habs and Sens both behind the eight ball though, we'll see. Would be nice to see them win more.
  6. Big if. Even if Horvat goes that's freeing up his current 5.5M, potentially less depending on who/what comes back in terms of players/picks/prospects. Boeser's unlikely to have his entire cap hit freed up even if he is moved, I don't see teams lining up to take on his whole 6.65M without sending cap back. Not without our paying to move him, which wouldn't come cheap given how valued cap space appears to be. Plus we've still got to address our defense for starters, amongst other things.
  7. I don't think they'd go there either, but if they did it'd probably be a dealbreaker for me. I've put a lot of time into the Canucks over the years, definitely too much time on this board, but it's something I could walk away from if push came to shove. At the end of the day it's just a team playing a game, I could pick another team playing the same game, one that didn't hire coach Q after everything that came out with Kyle Beach. I'm not against people getting second chances but some things are so horrendous that second chances shouldn't be offered. Coaching in the NHL should be a privilege, coaching at all should be a privilege. I get wanting to win a Stanley Cup, I really do, but I'm not on board with having put chasing an opportunity to do so over someone who'd gone through what Beach did. After all the Canucks have been through the past couple seasons, one and off the ice, I just don't see them bringing in a powder keg. But if they did? Yeah, they'd deserve to have it blow up in their face.
  8. Some fans, sure But there are also plenty of Hawks fans who went on to choose new teams after all that news broke CDC ain't the only hockey bit I frequent Q chose hockey over being anything resembling a decent human, chose a playoff run over Kyle Beach
  9. Q should never coach in this league again If the Canucks brought him in that'd be enough for me to consider looking for another team, and that's saying a lot after the past ten years of waiting on the Canucks to figure their crap out
  10. Meanwhile Canucks management doesn't appear to be able to see the forest OR the trees
  11. What'd be more beneficial to this franchise? New ownership or Bedard?

  12. Not gonna lie, I don't really put a lot into them having said that. And given how the roster has performed the last couple seasons now it may very well be thrust upon them whether they want it or not. There's an appetite for one, certainly. From the fanbase at the very least. Big if, I've got a hard time seeing Boeser moved out without our taking a good chunk of cap back. I could very easily see Boeser being a Canuck at the beginning of next season. I also don't buy the whole Petey would be devastated narrative, Pettersson got by fine without him beforehand and would get by just fine without him. In fact I think Pettersson would be more upset by a Boeser trade. I see Boeser as someone whose value could be rehabilitated.
  13. Doesn't matter what they want if they can't find a way to unload cap space sooner than later, and they've supposedly had a fair bit of trouble doing that Teams aren't gonna do us any cap favours, they know where we're at Kuzmenko will be resolved one way or the other prior to the deadline Also depends on the direction we take going forward, and what Kuzmenko's camp actually wants
  14. Eh, I've been firm in my stance on selling him to the highest bidder and that's not likely to change I still believe he'll go for the money, I'm sure someone would give him a medium term contract with more money than people think he'd get If he continues producing I reckon he could get 6Mx4-5
  15. He's gonna choke slam Tkachuk and folks will complain that he wasn't mixing it up in scrums
