  1. Fiala with four points thus far, Kings are absolutely all over the Oilers
  2. Habs going hard for Bedard They could win the lottery two years running
  3. How CRAZY_4_NAZZY are you on a scale of one to Naslund

    1. CRAZY_4_NAZZY

      CRAZY_4_NAZZY

There is no such spectrum. My affinity for Nazzy just is haha

  4. I'd consider it, I'm not sold on Kotkaniemi but I'd consider it
  5. That's going to largely be the reality of trying to trade with a team that views itself as a contender imo, they're not likely looking to weaken their roster but they may be willing to part with futures to chase a cup But I'd be okay with a return based on futures, we'd just have to be picky about who we get A 1st and two recent second round prospects may not sound like a sexy return but we're weak at RD and center when it comes to prospects and the players I've mentioned aside from Heimosalmi tick those boxes Detroit could be a good trade partner too if they thought they could lock Horvat down, they've got some talented prospects too but they're certainly not going to rent him
  6. Bo's no Kesler but he holds his own and he's one of the best faceoff guys in the league, which is no small thing from a possession standpoint He's a legit 2C on a top team, a 1C on a lesser team
  7. Tough to say, not sure how to gauge how Carolina values Morrow I'm just going to assume they're not willing to give up Seth Jarvis To Carolina Bo Horvat 50% retained To Vancouver Jake Gardiner's roughly 4M in LTIR 1st Scott Morrow (40OA 2021 RD) A 2nd or one of Heimosalmi (44OA 2021 LD), Suzuki (28OA 2019 C), Ponomarev (53OA 2020 C), Rees (44OA 2019 C). I'm spitballing and Carolina may balk at giving up a second prospect on top of Morrow and a 1st (assuming they're willing to part with him at all) but that's roughly what I'd be looking for I'd be looking for a 1st, a top prospect, and a second pick or prospect for Horvat, not only would we be retaining but we'd be taking Gardiner off their hands to help them out capwise (his deal is up at the end of the season)
  8. He's a winger who can win draws imo, he's not reliable defensively enough to play center full-time He'd be better on a team that could insulate him defensively, which we can't
  9. Carolina makes the most sense and I've been saying it for a while, they could easily just move on from Pacioretty at the end of the season and Bo's extension would eat up most of that freed up cap. They've got some important players to sign in the near future but I reckon they could make it work somehow. Carolina are a team that could contend with a legit 2C, they're not far removed from a conference final and they almost got there again last season, losing 3-4 to the Rags in the second round. They're also a team with good prospects. Minnesota would be interesting too but yeah, 14M+ in dead space the next two seasons makes it tricky for them to navigate.
  10. I'd be fine giving up Brock to simply clear his cap space, that'd be a win at this point Yeah, he's probably got more value and his production hasn't been terrible despite his lack of goal scoring, but we could flip him out, sell Dumba for assets, and use that cap space to either sign our own players, improve our D, or take on someone else's bad contract for even more assets I'd rather do the latter if we can take someone's short term headache for the rest of the season or for this season and next I'm all about accumulating assets at this point
  11. They weren't just ignoring the elephant, they were chasing the dragon
  12. [Rumour] Coconuts interested in trading JT Miller
  13. Dumba's got a 10 team NTC, I question whether we'd be on it or not. He's not what I'd want in a top 4RD. If the idea was to acquire him and flip him elsewhere I'd be interested though, assuming he'd be willing to come here and assuming Minnesota had interest in Boeser.
  14. I hope so He's responded to it pretty well, put out an album about it
  15. You're welcome to your opinion but I disagree. He has no trade protection, management doesn't need to consult him on anything. Hockey is a business, there's no way he's not aware of that at this point in his career. If he's traded it'll almost certainly be to a team that'll probably make the playoffs. As for an extension, that's up to his side as much as it's up to management. We're not in a position to lose assets for nothing, if a deal can't be reached it's in our best interest to sell him to the highest bidder or to the team that offers us the package we like most.
  16. I'd reckon not, the Rangers may be loaded down the right side but they don't have as much on the left. Miller and Lindgren round out their top four, and Miller's actually second on the Rangers D with 20 points in 41 games thus far at age 22. At 6'5" he also gives them some size alongside Trouba (6'3") and Harpur (6'6"). He's worth signing imo, and if they're reluctant to move Schneider I reckon they'd be reluctant to move him too.
  17. Yup, that's what he's signed to. But he could have signed it anywhere, and it's still a one year deal. I have a hard time seeing agents or players getting their knickers in a twist over someone on a one year deal being traded by a team that should be sellers. Kuzmenko wanted to sign somewhere where he'd get an opportunity and he's gotten one here, he'll get paid, we've done our part by putting him in a position to succeed. There should be no hard feelings from his camp. .
  18. Legendary response to a police raid
  19. I don't buy this. Not with a guy who signed a one year deal. This isn't us signing a guy to a four year deal and flipping him to Detroit or Arizona, it's a team that's likely not going to make the playoffs selling leading up to the deadline. Free agents and agents aren't going to hold our flipping Kuzmenko against us, we're a team that will almost certainly miss the playoffs and we absolutely should be sellers. Nobody's going to hold Anaheim selling Klingberg at 50% closer to the deadline either if they can find a taker, they just signed him to a one year 7M deal. He signed here because thought it'd be a good opportunity and he'd heard good things, he's played prime minutes alongside our top talent. We've absolutely done right by Kuzmenko, he's gotten every opportunity to produce here.
  20. No, the players aren't going to stop trying. That's why it'll likely take a larger trade, like a Horvat trade, for us to truly bottom out. Bedard ain't likely even if we do, but drafting top five would be great. A tank isn't getting the players to stop trying, it's management moving players out or structuring their roster in a way that makes them less competitive. The Canucks haven't set out to tank, their roster simply isn't structured very well, their defense and team defense isn't very good, and they simply haven't played very well outside of the offensive zone for much of the season.
  21. In his defense it's not hard to pick up a minus on this team, but yeah he's not irreplaceable by any stretch I'd be fine retaining him on a one way deal and keeping him around as a depth guy in the bigs or in Abbotsford but I won't be upset if he moves on
  22. I don't disagree about the timing As for Miller one for one, I don't recall hearing that but that doesn't mean it didn't happen @aGENT does that ring a bell? You were on the Schneider train too
  23. [Proposal] Kuzmenko to Vancouver Island

I'm sure he'd have a swell old time exploring the Island. It's beautiful out there.

For real, Tofino is great for storm watching this time of year and Port Renfrew is gorgeous in all this rain
