  1. Can't help but think folks might be a bit surprised by what Graves ends up getting
  2. This is a big part of why I'm so hellbent on our getting a center at 11, I've been quite vocal regarding my skepticism about how Miller will age. Anyone we draft will be 18 and likely need at least a couple seasons of develop, it's unlikely we get an impact player off the hop, but even if it takes them 4-5 years that lines up with Miller's being 34-35. The only center prospect we have who maybe projects as top six is Raty, not good enough. 4-5 years also takes Pettersson to 29-30, we absolutely need to be thinking about who steps up behind him sooner than later, and about who takes over for Miller. If we want any semblance of a sustainable window we need to be bolstering our prospect pool at center sooner than later. We aren't guaranteed success over the next 4-5 seasons and it'll fly by quicker than people think.
  3. I'm not gonna pretend to be a fight guy, I'm not, but I've heard and read enough to assess that he's full of hot air and that his inflated ego has gotten in the way of business and at times come before the sport Dude will lie, mouth off, or do whatever it takes if it serves his self-interest Actual hockey fans have been criticizing the NHL's marketing for years
  4. No way, that's way too much. Hanifin almost certainly isn't within our price range, the cost to get him from a divisional rival who appears to be trying to retool while competing would be enormous.
  5. Yeah, it's interesting, made a thread about him the other day. But no, I don't think it's feasible as the cost to acquire him from a divisional rival in Calgary would be monstrous. He'll garner no shortage of interest, props on him for letting the Flames know well in advance so that they can get value for him. Last thing they need is another Gaudreau scenario where they lose a top player for nothing.
  6. The NHL's marketing is terrible but Dana's opinion ain't worth all that much, dude is a snake.
  7. Yeah, he's an intriguing option for sure Alternatively, Canucks fans have always poked fun at themselves and will almost certainly continue to do so
  8. If we trade the pick imma be pissed, I want a center at 11OA
  9. Sign Schenn, cut Bear lose, have an actual third pairing RD in place for the first game of the season
  10. This thread was posted in early February, aren't his eyes tired yet?
  11. Here's hoping, unfortunately I don't believe in this management's ability to not just plunk someone else into open cap space. I'm really hoping they just ride it out with what the have for the most part, next season is likely a transition season at best anyway imo.
  12. Should have never made having stuff tucked away in a club mandatory in the first place.
  13. It's def possible, I just think we need to move out a winger and I'm not overly attached to him, Boeser, or Garland He's just likely the easiest player to swap out, and in all honesty I'd rather us allocate cap space to D over wingers
  14. Which means that more than likely he'll be easier to move out than Garland or Boeser, particularly when you consider that he's on an expiring contract. We can either use him to clear space or extend him down the road on a deal where he may not be as good value.
  15. He does, he's been on bargain contracts for like the last five seasons
  16. Very true, top four is almost certainly Bedard, Fantilli, Smith, and Carlsson though, I'm not sure Montreal would be willing to pay what it'd take to get one of them Smith or Carlsson could be San Jose's future 1C and I'd be surprised if either considered taking a wing over the opportunity to grab a potential 1C
  17. Yeah, they almost certainly won't get into the top 3, you're getting a 1OA talent there this year Could see San Jose maybe moving down but it'd cost a lotttt as I figure Smith goes 4th If Montreal wants Michkov there's a strong chance he's available
  18. I could see it, it's come out over the past couple days that they're looking to move up though, I think they might want one of the top four centers
