  1. Haha, well thanks! My reaction depends on the game and how I interpret it. We can win a game and I'll be happy we won but I'll be peeved by some of the other stuff that went on. You can win and still win having played poor hockey. Winning doesn't somehow erase all the aspects that need to be better. It's easy to move on to the next game and forget about those things after winning, but those things are still there. If we lose a game we deserve to lose, like the Philly one, it's easier to accept. But I'm still gonna be frustrated with our not showing up and all sorts of associated things. If we lose like we did last night? I'm probably not gonna take that as well. But that comes back to reactions right? We're all human and we all react differently to different things. I hear ya on the alcohol too haha, it's easy to get carried away when that's involved. Absolutely, hockey has it's place and we've all got more important things in our lives than what's ultimately rooting for a particular team playing a particular sport. Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of that when we're caught up in it all.
  2. Bandwagoners are those who jump off a wagon when things get bad or jump on a wagon when things are taking off (Chicago post 2010). In my experience most Canucks fans stick around through the bad times. Hell, at this point most of the seasons following 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 qualify. Those seasons had bright spots sure, but there were certainly more valleys than peaks. I get emotional when we win or lose, I'm very invested. Perhaps too invested. Sometimes I'll check out early when the games get real ugly, but I'm usually back to reading up on the team and following them intensely the next day. There are a lot of folks in the same boat. Our criticisms, frustrations, our emotional and rational calls for change, ect don't make us bad fans. Nor do they make us bandwagoners. Sometimes folks get carried away, sometimes we say dumb $&!#. Doesn't mean those reactions aren't valid. We get worked up, frustrated, ect because we give a damn. You're probably better at that than I am, but I def get where you're coming from. We're only human, humans react. Sometimes it's hard to be objective. I like to think most people can see the positives of this young group, problem is it's not all positives regarding this team and people are gonna dig into those things as well. Looking for silver linings is great, but there's a lot more to a big picture than it's silver linings and positives. I know you mean well, and I wasn't trying to stir anything up. But people expressing their frustration, bewilderment, their grievances, calls for change, ect is important too. People are going to express those things, I'm going to express those things. There were good things about last night, sure. We scored a bunch of goals at even strength finally, Hughes and Petey picked up points, Miller scored. But we also had one shot on goal after the first ten minutes, collapsed despite having a sizable lead, didn't show the same resilience Pittsburgh did (they're missing guys too) and gave up five goals in a period. There's always going to be both sides, even after the games we win.
  3. Fortunately we spend most of December playing at home, hopefully we capitalize on that.
  4. Most of us will be here Sunday whether we beat Edmonton Saturday or not, that bandwagon piece is garbage tbh. The reactions in this thread don't mean people don't support the team. Most folks wouldn't bother coming round if they didn't. Yeah, we're a team in transition. Yeah, we're a team missing some pretty big pieces thanks to injury. But when a team gets ventilated for five goals in a period it's fans are gonna be pretty frustrated. Fans are going to get emotional, criticisms are going to be (fairly and unfairly) made. In this case it's just cumulative frustration. Fans will do this because they're invested on some level. Lot of us have already been dealing with a team in transition for a few years now. I wager most of us will be here the next few years too, regardless of whether this team makes the playoffs or not. You don't have to like the PGT reactions, and yeah they can get ugly after a loss, but they're valid reactions after an ugly loss.
  5. Anaheim and Arizona both get at least a point and LA gets two. Only other divisional teams that didn't get one tonight were Edmonton and San Jose. We've got a playoff spot by virtue of games played but we're tied with Vegas and Calgary for points. San Jose's one point behind us too. Not a good night to blow a lead.
  6. It's not, but it's a questionable move all the same. Dude gets sent down and instead of complaining he lights up the AHL and works on his game. As a reward he's called up and barely gets a sniff. I'm not impressed. If he wasn't going to be utilized perhaps Eriksson should have been in the lineup. Could have used a bit more defensive game tonight. They collapsed as a team, I won't debate that. They had the game in the bag and they pissed it away. It's been an awful month for Canucks hockey. I think Green gets a little more rope, I don't think management wants to fire him. If this team gets bodies back and continues to sink he's likely gone. He'll probably get some rope to work through this though. I'm not sure what kind of candidates are out there right now either. Babcock's the biggest fish but do we want him? I'm hearing a lot of mixed opinions regarding that. I do agree though, I'd rather get someone experienced if it comes to it. If only on an temporary basis like LA did with ol' Willie.
  7. Blame youth and inexperience. How long til the youth have enough and point the finger back at him?
  8. Vegas and Calgary with two points. Anaheim is playing Arizona so one of them will get two points. San Jose, Edmonton and LA still playing in close games. Canucks had better be better in December because they've lost whatever cushion they had.
  9. It'd be a lot less painful to give Loui a chance under another coach at this point tbh. He's not being traded without us giving up something and buying him out doesn't help our cap issues.
  10. Actually though. If you're not going to play him dress Eriksson. For all the flack he deservedly gets he still knows how to play a solid defensive game. Could have used that tonight.
  11. I'm still wondering why Goldy was stapled to the bench. What's the point in calling him up if he's not going to be utilized? He had less than nine minutes of ice time.
  12. At least the Comets won

  13. When another coach, a former player no less, speaks up and outs you that's pretty damning. I'll be surprised if he's not fired. The optics here are grim.
  14. I don't know if I can be bothered to watch us play Edmonton if Sutter or Beagle aren't back to match up against McDavid I &^@#ing hate Novembers for this team, they always seem to &^@# us over
  15. This one hurts worse than the Dallas game because we should have had it. We scored 6 &^@#ing goals and lead 6-3 at one point, and we still couldn't &^@#ing win.
  16. I can't stand Malkin, I wish someone would nail him I'll never forgive him for that $&!# he pulled on Mitchell
  17. Not the best, but a welcome change. Helps that Murray was a sieve in net.
