Liberal Government Writes off Billion Dollar Loan to Chrysler
Ryan Strome replied to Warhippy's topic in Off-Topic General
I realize @Warhippy has made yet another thread to knock conservatives and a few others like @Jimmy McGill are jumping on and blaming the conservatives but everyone should know all 3 federal parties would have handed out the bail out then and would still do it today. Don't forget what province the auto industry is in. -
As if anyone else even had a chance. That being said this is the best choice. Type 26 named as the design for Canada’s future warship Irving Shipbuilding and Public Services and Procurement Canada have announced that BAE-Lockheed Martin is the industry team which scored the highest with their bid to provide the 15 new warships for the Royal Canadian Navy. The consortium is the “preferred bidder” according to the federal government, for the Canadian Surface Combatant program. Its design is the Type 26. That selection will now set off negotiations which in turn will – if all is successful – produce a contract. The entire project is worth $60 billion, with an estimated 60 per cent for the actual ship. Alion Science and Technology, along with its subsidiary Alion Canada, had submitted their proposal based on the Dutch De Zeven Provinciën Air Defence and Command (LCF) frigate. Navantia of Spain headed a team that included Saab Australia and CEA Technologies. Its proposal was based on the F-105 frigate design, a ship in service with the Spanish navy. Lockheed Martin Canada, is the prime on the team that if offering BAE’s Type 26 warship. More to come…….. https://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/defence-watch/type-26-named-as-the-design-for-canadas-future-warship

I don't care to get into this but @mpt has a point. Nobody is suppose to be subject to second hand smoke. Obviously cigarettes are far worse but any smoke into your lungs is unhealthy.

Anti pipeline people that oppose kinder Morgan expansion don't care about this. They will likely blame this on bitumen, Fort McMurray, Calgary, Alberta, etc.

So Jeb is the bush no one likes?

Wasn't that 91% at the start of the war against Iraq? Americans love killing people I don't doubt the approval at all.

Name recognition?? His dad was a tool. "Read my lips" then didn't he raise taxes? He went to war in defense of the worst nation on earth. Although you make a good point we have a name recognition issue here as well. And both father and son were/are poor leaders.

I don't follow. Are you assuming the Republicans will lose control? If so I'm sure thats a concern of theirs.
-
I'm not a fan of either party if I had to give a preference it would likely be the gop but it's clear this guy isn't being honest. There is far to much politics going on about this. When you choose not to answer specific questions you know someone is hiding something. He is doing this deliberately knowing his answers could come back to bite him. Pick another candidate and move on.

I think it's clear he is lying It's to bad this whole thing is all political. Imo the right thing to do is pick someone else.

It will continue to be, that pipeline has been there for a very long time. Maybe you should complain about the clear cutting that takes away from natural beauty. Or maybe you should complain about minig companies not caring about B.C and allowing their tailings ponds to burst there banks. But hey big US money is behind opposing a pipeline that benefits all Canadians gee I wonder why.

Thats because you know nothing about the oil industry. All figures in Canadian dollars. CALGARY, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - Suncor Energy today announced it invested $13.8 million in more than 700 charitable organizations and non-profit groups in 2008. Approximately $8.5 million of that total was invested through the Suncor Energy Foundation, which supports charitable organizations in Canada. An additional $5.3 million was invested by different Suncor businesses through cash and in-kind contributions. Suncor's and the Suncor Energy Foundation's investments in 2008 were focused in four priority areas: - $6.9 million for community projects, including programs that support Aboriginal initiatives - $3.7 million for educational programs, specifically in skilled trades, science and technology - $2.3 million for environmental initiatives including conservation projects and community education initiatives - $850,000 on behalf of more than 600 employees who volunteered and fundraised in their communities. https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/suncor-energy-invests-138-million-in-charitable-and-non-profit-groups-537237471.html http://www.suncor.com/community-investment/apply-for-funding/charitable-donations https://www.wbcfoundation.ca/news/2017/9/27/suncor-donates-1-million-in-addition-to-commitment-to-match-500000-in-donations-annually-for-four-years

The project is going to happen didn't you listen to any government officials today? Btw Alberta getting played? More like all Canadians getting played and paying billions for nothing. But again they will get it done. I mean you and I may be dead by then but it will get built.

Really? The government doesn't agree. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/natural-resources-trans-mountain-1.4832759

I know exactly what you mean.

The FFG(X) program could end up picking the fremm. Thats what I meant. Similar to Canada the US doesn't want to waste the time and money on a new design. I suppose outsource was the wrong word to use.
-
Type 26 and the fremm are the way of the future. I believe the US is outsourcing it's 20 new frigates aren't they?
-
Cruisers and destroyers are a thing of the past. Ships will now be multi role multi purpose ships. Russia has massive ships that classed as corvettes.

No need for the confused face @kingofsurrey you knew exactly what I meant.
