So you admit we get screwed? Absolutely. Has to be done every 3 years. Will never change. Also to your earlier post the rotten egg smell is only at lower concentrations. When the levels are very high there is no smell you fall down and die. I have been around lots of h2s and tbh it's not rotten eggs to me but the smell is distinct and you will always remember it.

REGINA — A union representing more than 700 workers in a contract dispute at the Co-op oil refinery tried to shut down the Regina facility Monday as police made arrests. Unifor posted a video on Twitter late in the afternoon showing officers taking the union’s national president, Jerry Dias, and western regional director, Gavin McGarrigle, into custody. Dias said earlier in the day that managers and replacement workers were being allowed to leave the refinery, but the union was going to stop fuel from being transported out of the complex. “We’re not allowing any trucks in,” Dias said. “We’re going to shut (the refinery) down until they come back to the bargaining table.” Workers on the picket line successfully blocked a bus filled with replacement staff and managers from entering the refinery, Dias said, and allowed six trucks to leave. "Those six trucks are never going back in until this dispute is settled,” he said. Police said they arrested seven people in total, while the union said more than a dozen Unifor members, staff and elected leaders were arrested. “From the beginning of this labour dispute, the Regina Police Service has defined its role as keeping the peace and ensuring public safety,” police said in a news release late Monday. “The law upholds the rights of the union to lawful protest; likewise, the law recognizes the company’s right to conduct business.” Co-op said the union is violating a court injunction if it blocks entrance points and called the union’s move a bullying tactic. It said it was “exploring all legal options.” Last month, a judge ruled the union could stop vehicles trying to get in and out of the refinery for a maximum of 10 minutes, so as to provide information on the dispute or until a driver declines the information. Dias said the blockades don’t violate the court order. “The court injunction was against Unifor Local 594 … this is being done by the national union and the bodies that we have parachuted into the province.” Police, however, appeared to take a different view. “Unifor members who are not members of Local 594, were informed that they may be subject to arrest on criminal matters if they chose to ignore the court order or interfere with the lawful operation of the business,” their news release said. “Starting at approximately 5:15 p.m., Regina Police Service members arrested seven adult males and transported them to the Regina Police Service detention area.” It said names and charges would be released one the details were available. Throughout the day, police had asked drivers to avoid the area and said it was up to both sides to avoid an escalation. Unifor said hundreds of members from across Canada have come to the site to support the refinery workers. “Tonight’s escalation was completely unnecessary and on a level I have rarely witnessed in recent years. We are calling on the Regina Police to immediately de-escalate and stop their heavy-handed tactics aimed at inflaming tensions on a peaceful and legal picket line,” Unifor secretary-treasurer Lana Payne said in a statement Monday night. Workers at the refinery were locked out in early December after the union voted in favour of a strike and issued a notice. The union has launched a national boycott of the facility’s owner, Federated Co-operatives Ltd., and picketed at Co-op retailers in Western Canada. One of the main issues in the labour dispute is pensions. The workers’ last contract expired in February. The union declared an impasse in contract negotiations in September, which led to the appointment of a mediator. https://business.financialpost.com/commodities/energy/unifor-tries-to-shut-down-regina-refinery-co-op-says-union-breaking-court-order ************ Jerry Dias is such a loser. This dictator tells his members how they must vote. Would love to see him actually spend a few days in jail.

.?? I hate you Trudeau more than anyone. But I agree on this, no exchange could take place no nothing we have rule of law in Canada she broke a law I'm not going to give her up even though I want those two men brought back home we have a rule of law in Canada and if you want to change that because your heart is bleeding you will drastically make Canada look weak

I can't complain it got me lots of nice stuff. It's funny why so many young people leave BC for Alberta..
-
Nor is it a small piece like he just said it creates so many so many trickle-down jobs it's not even funny
-
Are you suggesting that about almost 200 billion dollars is nothing serious? You also as usual because you always do it and I constantly remind you that you aren't looking at the whole picture the amount of jobs and wealth it creates and so many other Industries so if you killed that industry you would be killing a lot more than just that 12% you spoke of.
-
I never said they weren't I said many in BC and that's not wrong I've always have maintained that it's the minority in BC but if they got their way they would hurt all of Canada including themselves
-
Well if we shut down the oil industry like many in BC want then Ottawa won't have near as much money which would be a hit to all of Canada if we shut down the oil industry Alberta would not pay equalisation which would be an over 20 billion dollar hit so yeah I guess you could say we do do a lot more than everybody else because tell me what other Province if you shut down their main industry would it affect the whole country but if you shutdown our oil industry it very much will have huge consequences on the whole country no other Province can say that.
-
I believe John Horgan said they were going to make it mandatory so it's hard to believe it could be eliminated considering he's only been the premier for 2 years or two and a half
-
King nearly daily. Edit, I mean hourly.
-
Fair enough. Oh I know I was just pointing out it was Notley because it's not a big seller out here and didn't hurt BC whatsoever it was made to look tough but everybody seen right through it
-
It hurts all of Canada. No...Notley did and was stupid, as if anyone here drinks wine. The turning off the taps was the right approach. Not scared but you would really then be your own island haha. You need to travel more. The okanagan, east and west kootenays and the shuswap would be hit hard without Alberta money.

This post is laughably stupid but considering the author it all makes sense. 100% the minority in BC holding up the pipeline is causing Alberta and Ottawa to get lower prices for our oil. We don't get market value due to pipeline capacity. Maybe look up WCS.
-
Oh man it's pointless. Don't be like me I'm a sucker for punishment. He has been to 9 different continents, 508 different countries, seen it all and done it all.
-
That's just him. Lol I love how the media always uses litres meanwhile oil is measured/calculated in cubes.m3 I think it's intentional to sway the "hippies." You saying I don't make sense?
-
No man...let's lay pipe tonight! Cheers buddy!!
-
Lol
-
Its f£#$ing pathetic isn't it? Sick of people without kids crying saying I don't want to pay for it. FU I don't want to pay for your health care. I'm as far right as they get, you know this but you know I have repeatedly said properly pay teachers, doctors and nurses they build a stronger future for everyone.
-
Yes sir it will be. BC school systems were butchered for 17 years.
-
All I'm saying is the we are better attitude is nonsense.
-
You're absolutely correct!! Not sure what you mean but Rupert and I have had our moments lol. Both heavy drinkers .
-
You're correct and I should have realized who I was talking to. Most in the lower mainland don't even know those two places. My apologies, Rupert.
-
We are but for some reason Alberta gets attacked while some here want to praise BC. I'm sorry but is totally hypocritical...many wildfires because of logging companies not cleaning up after they move on. That's a burden to all of you taxpayers in BC. As for more work, sure but we have a lot more money and partnership with producers. Man that tailings pond breach was an environmental disaster and quite catastrophic. Not once have I heard @kingofsurrey talk about it, I educated @gurn on it, also. It's easy to point fingers but when you do that there is always 4 pointing back at you.
-
No. I have said this repeatedly, Ottawa needs to get their greey hands out and give 90% of their cut to Bc. Producers of all iindustries in canada know cpc or liberal will cave to their demands. That being said you aren't wrong. Well Likely bC will likely never have safe water again. I guess if you take the comparison from Alberta to BC it's a wash.
-
The point I'm making is if it's an issue for Alberta it's also an issue for BC, right? Considering the amount of BCs gdp made up through taxes I imagine the impact would be deeper. Dawson Creek area also.
