  1. Would like to see this: Miller-Petey-Hoglander Pearson-Horvat-Boeser Virtanen-Sutter-Gaudette Motte-Beagle-BMac/Rooster
  2. Does anyone else think it could be possible that the players are not 100% in this season due to the ineptness of our GM? Like think if you are at work, and you are close to building this winning culture with a great core group of employees, but all of a sudden management decides they are not worth the money and cans them. How do you respond in your job? I’d be pretty bummed about losing the coworkers that have worked their butt off the last several years and have nothing to show for. Are the Canucks core players a bit frustrated they did not get the help they deserve to play competitive hockey? Didn’t Pettersson come out and say that he really wanted to play with Toffoli? Management owed it to this team to re-sign and keep guys who made this team so much better. Instead we trade a 3rd for Vegas’ cap dump (I know Schmidt’s great and all but still), and we pay $4.3M for an aging goaltender who went stale in Washington. That money there is enough to keep Tanev and Toffoli. Perhaps ownership has become cheap due to covid and did not want any buy outs to occur, but boy was that a mistake in the long run. You can clearly see this teams chemistry has fallen off the face of the earth, and there seems to be off ice distractions/drama. Tough to see warriors such as Tanev and Marky leave this team after being loyal, true MVPs of this team for the past 3-5 years. The boys must be thinking the same. Anyways, just my thoughts after another crummy night. Hope the men can find a way to regroup and start stringing some wins together.
  3. After sleeping on last nights loss, I still have optimism with the season. Yes, we have major issues right now, but at the very least, all these issues are mostly rust and pretty much coachable and being prepared. Many of MTLs goals last night, we pretty much gave right to them. MTL gave us nothing, and we still managed 3 goals. Tighten up defensively and we probably win both nights easy. Too many vets making high danger passes at key moments in the game. Schmidt and Petey give aways were brutal, but they likely wont happen again. Furthermore, lots to be excited about with guys like Horvat and Boeser looking much better this year. Gaudette looks like he will break out soon, probably just needs a better winger than Roussel if Im being completely honest. Chatfield showed great poise before he went down, might turn out to be Tanev-lite. Holtby and Demko will get better as the year goes along, we haven’t exactly eased them in. Regarding Pettersson, I am about 95% sure he will have a 5 point game coming up and from there he will be off to the races. Seems like a confidence issue that will be rectified soon. Go Canucks Go!
  4. Canucks undefeated in September playoff hockey. Knights winless in September playoff hockey. I guess you could say the odds are stacked heavily against Vegas right now.
  5. Elliot Friedman just said on the panel that Marky is either very tired or banged up. Wonders if Canucks start Demko tomorrow. Personally, I would be okay with it. If we have ANY chance of coming back in this series, Demko has to start at least one game. Rather he start a game 5 instead of a 6 or 7. Also, we gotta show a little more faith in Demko. Who knows, a fresh goalie could steal a game.
  6. Yeah, we have to find a way to keep both. Maybe this is goodbye to Tanev? He is getting older, and looks to have lost half a step. Hughes could benefit from playing with somebody bigger and more physical than Tanman too. It's been a great ride for Chris and the Canucks, and its a shame to let him walk, but it may be time. Unless of course he takes a huge pay cut to stay.
  7. It's the forecheck and pressure that Vegas puts on our players. It's a great system in place by DeBoer and totally suits their skill set. We have to offset it by moving the puck crisply and quickly, and by finding open space so the puck carrier can hit an open man with space quickly.
  8. Some positive news: Canucks record in the bubble: Tuesday: 2-0 Thursday: 1-0 Friday: 3-0 The next game days on schedule? Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! We lost last night, no surprise as the Canucks are winless on Sunday's in the bubble (0-3).
  9. Totally. What happened to STL "Wearing us down every shift", or ROR "Taking over this series" ? The coverage is just so painful at times. It reminds me of how having John and John is such a blessing through the regular season.
  10. SN continues to get on their knees for every single Vegas player. Absolutely sick of hearing how good Pacioretty has been, and how Pete DeBoer thinks he can get better. And this Reaves spotlight has been the tipping point. Even showing him mouthing off at our bench after he dumps Hughes. He was a non factor against CHI, and is a non-factor here too, just the coverage is much different.
  11. Anyone else feel that the NHL is messing up series at this point with back to backs? Not making excuses, Vegas is the better overall team, but I feel that the schedule is benefiting them much more than it is us at this point. The Canucks IMO, do have better high end talent, but obviously they are tired, as on average they play way more then Vegas' top end talent. It just seems that if you have depth, you will win in the bubble, regardless of the other teams top end talent. I feel as if we have at least ONE day in between games, we fair better and may edge out Vegas in the 3rd period last night. And in regular circumstances, there would NOT be back to backs. Just seems like they have a clear advantage because of their depth, and being in this bubble. Same goes for Colorado, better high end talent than Dallas, but the Stars are getting all sorts of depth scoring right now. Again, no excuses, but teams with more depth, not necessarily talent, will probably win the cup this year. I feel we kind of get shafted in this sense.
  12. Flyers give Elliot the start, but we can’t give Demko a start. Missed opportunity in a back to back to give Demko a chance, and Marky a break. Just Marky’s numbers in the 2nd half of B2B is enough.
  13. In my ideal little world, I hope Canucks can pull out a victory tonight, and then get Toffoli back for game 6 and end them!
  14. I feel like Gaudette gets inserted to the line up and scores a huge goal for us today. He always has this knack of scoring big goals.
  15. I'd rather they finish this thing in Game 6. My heart can't handle a game 7 lol.
  16. Sorry..... but the game is tomorrow
  17. His IG is awesome lol... sure hope we see him back here at some point. Would rather him play and learn than Motte /Schaller
  18. Miller-Petey-Ferland Baertschi-Horvat-Boeser Pearson-Gaudette-Virtanen Motte-Beagle-Leivo/Sutter
  19. Man... this has got to be an all time low for the Canucks coaching staff. The OP is stoned and he still makes more sense than them. Jokes aside, I agree. I was infuriated watching most of the game yesterday. But mostly because of what I was noticing. Example: Leivo on the PP, Drop pass, too many men penalties, etc. I didn’t have a problem with any ones game, I thought they all played pretty decent, and it’s very apparent Petey, Boes, Bo all have some rust. They’ll get it back. The coaching staff however, it’s not rust. They are just clueless, and it’s not the first time they look clueless either.
  20. One thing I fail to understand is Josh Leivo on the first unit PP. In fact Leivo on any unit is absurd. Sure the guy has some skill, but it’s weird to think he was chosen on the PP instead of Baer, who has shown he can get it done on the PP before. I saw at least 3 whiffs by Leivo last night on the PP and was thinking darn, if only we had Sven there, or even Pearson or Ferland that would have been in. Coaching staff is frustrating to say the very least. Yes it is been 2 games, but really we’ve seen this story for years now.
