A darkhorse team for JT might be the Caps, they have a ton of draft picks in stock, just got rid of Lars Eller, and they aren't really that far out of the playoffs to make a push. All depends on JT's health, but, BB is a cheaper option.
Nope, all kinda low first round picks have come back. As for JTM, fingers crossed. I think this team can do better with younger talent over the long run, rather than rely on JT over the next three years of his prime.
The Canucks need at least three draft picks back, otherwise CDC is going to become unhinged. I liked the move yesterday, but the team needs much more work on the back end.
Yet through all of this, EP and QH's are plus players. Last season Myers was a plus player. It's between the ears that counts. I praised Myers for the first period last game, but watching him in the second, and third periods he was constantly out of position. Yet, here we have Brisbois and Wolanin, short sample mind you, playing plus hockey.
Let's just say Schenn comes back after this season is done. If the Canucks haven't improved their D, and we see Luke playing 1st or 2nd pairing minutes, here we are again.
Playoff hockey has shown that you can't win with bad goaltending, even passable won't cut it. That defense is on par with the Canucks, if OEl, Dermott, Poolman, Schenn, Hughes, Myers, and Bear were in the lineup. It's that bad.
He COULD have been here too, but, right now I just see a guy going through the motions. Garland on the other hand is really growing on me as a player, if only he had Boeser's size.
The entire East is loading up, they all want the cup. Has Colorado scared them all that much? It sure isn't the Coilers or LVK. He got dinged up a couple of times though in the Bruins game though, so maybe there is something there injury wise.
I was referring to buying out Garland and/or Boeser which made no sense to me. Those two can be traded even if for minimal assets. OEL not so much I would assume. But, you never know maybe an Eastern team will see some LTIR cap money on the horizon.
I thought the NHL had tweaked the lottery draft so as teams that finished higher up in the standings such as the NYR's and I believe the Flyers did a few years ago, wouldn't get a shot at first overall? Or, are all teams, the bottom 16 eligible for that shot at Bedard? Just once I'd like the Canucks to have that 1st overall.
