  1. I've never heard of a coach being hired not to win now. When Boudreau was hired they won 7 in a row, ended up winning 35 under him for the remainder of the season. Basically the same team. They probably would have made the playoffs, had Demko not gotten injured. Plus, Bo broke his foot too. Show me any pro in any sport that doesn't want to win, or a coach that doesn't want to win, please I'm waiting.
  2. I've seen all of them play, but I've never seen either of them coach before. Which is why they were hired. Tocchets' record is terrible, period. I've been a hopeful fan of this organization since it's inception, and frankly this is the biggest gong show I've ever seen in this continuing saga. I thought they'd never touch the Tortorella debacle, but I think they've done it. Picking a player out of the pile (Kuzmenko) and telling him you want a 200' player, when one of the so called veterans (Miller) gets a pass. Boeser has *&it the bed all season, yet he's continually played in key situations, top 6 minutes and the power play. That debacle last night should have been a wake up call the management group should be very concerned about, after they said changes were going to be made. 2 head coaches later.....
  3. That comment alone is laughable. Is there anyone on this current club that matches Crosby, Malkin, Letang, and Fluery, and the supporting cast they had. The two closest to any one of those are EP and Hughes.
  4. Yet, #9 put a beautiful pass onto the tape for the second Wings goal last night. He might want to look into the mirror every once in a while as well. Not be better than Boudreau, why would this management team hire Tocchet then, if not to win games? That comment makes no sense.
  5. Two huge losses as well leaving BB looking for a coaching staff. This team improved immensely under Walker and more so with Shaw. Yeo and Cull were brought in to replace BB, but being the quality guy Boudreau is, he gave them very high recommendations to stay on in the organization. I would have liked to have seen at least Shaw brought back, Walker wanted to be back east. I agree, it's a Pittsburg Penguin West team, and so far they've done nothing except move head coaches. How about addressing the defense which hasn't been the same since 2010.
  6. Blah blah blah, they're giving up more goals than ever since this new guy came onto the scene. Boudreau had this same team last season and correct me if I'm wrong went 35 - 12- and something? This is on management, instead of paying for 3 coaches why not give Boudreau the season, and start over. Management has screwed the pooch royally. I'm tired of slogans, quotes, blow this team to pieces and rebuild, starting with new management. New ownership would be nice too.
  7. they can't get any lower, as they've probably hit rock bottom, mentally getting them back is going to prove difficult.
  8. The Rangers have far more offensive talent than the Wings, but, knowing the Canucks they'll win 4-2 with an empty netter.
  9. I remember one game in particular, the Canucks were up 4-0 on the Oilers going into the second period. Gretzky and company went to work, game over. The Oiler teams padded their stats against the Canucks for sure.
  10. NO, it doesn't. Usually a coaching change brings in a bit of a bump, I've seen nothing of the sort. The Bruce bump last season would have been epic had Demko not gotten injured. Bruce was dealt a lousy hand starting with how the season began, Demko being injured and two AHL goalies, plus the incompetence of a management group to allow a veteran coach to twist in the wind as they did.
  11. The pass Miller made to the Wings forward was right on the tape. The line change when the puck wasn't going to get past the center line, was epic. Structure you say? Kuzmenko had much more intensity than Boeser last night, and other than that 4 point performance merits more ice time than him. What's his role on the power play? He isn't a puck retriever, his shot has gone missing, and he's not fast enough to play in this NHL.
  12. Well, I guess one game out of 45 isn't bad then, right? He's been invisible all season.
  13. How so? The Canucks still have to score 6 goals to win a game. I don't see a coaches bump at all.
  14. I totally agree with this. The guy is a goal scorer, creates offense, and now Tocchet has come in and will try to turn him into a checker. Boeser has forgotten how to play in the offensive zone, period.
  15. They don't have anything to win with, this is the entire point. Showcasing Boeser is going to prove futile if he continues his way of play. Any trade involving Boeser is going to be a whole lot of retention, and probably a 5th or 6th rounder. I hope I'm wrong but bad habits are the least of this teams worries.
  16. The Canucks don't have the guys to buy into a system, this is why teams are scoring 5 against them all season. So for Tocchet to single him out for the last 3 games, when he isn't the only one displaying bad habits. Boeser has played one really good game all season long, is a turnover machine, isn't fast enough, doesn't use his body, has lost his shot, and basically floats the entire game, yet he get cushy offensive minutes.
  17. 5 goals against, how's the coaching bump going for you all? Tocchet has taken all the life out of Kuzmenko's game, great evaluation. Boeser floats, Garland spinorama's. When Phil Di, is one of the hardest workers on the team, and good for him for getting the opportunity, but you sit a guy on pace for 30 plus goals to make a point, I'm sorry, I don't get it.
  18. All the while Boeser is going through the motions, again. Flipping frustrating watching this "evaluation".
  19. The only issue I have with this is, will any of the management group or coaching staff be around "in a few years"? I hope I'm wrong, as if all that takes place, neither will EP or Hughes.
  20. On EP's pp goal, I noticed the defender was way out trying to keep close to EP. So, the Canucks all moved around clockwise leaving EP at the top in the middle of the ice. That really messed up the coverage. Saying that sometimes you don't need that blast from the blueline, a seeing eye wrister works as well. Which Petey has as well.
