  1. In the last 7 seasons they haven't played a season of .500 hockey, and finished no higher than 5th in their division during that period. 7 years of trending, I guess. Why have they traded guys like Bertuzzi, and Hronek if they're trending in the right direction? Not a good example of trending in the right direction.
  2. I was referring to all the comments prior to him coming to the team, everyone, he's 6'2, no he's standing beside so and so so he must be at least 6'3. It was a dialogue for months.
  3. For proof that only drafting makes SC champs, look no further than the Oilers and the TML's. First overalls, top fives and they still haven't got it done. Nor will they. The MG era left us will little or no chances of drafting in the top twenty five, let alone the top ten because that team was legit.
  4. As I've been saying, get out and support this team, they're going places if they stay healthy.
  5. The guy on the left made the call, eventually!
  6. If it isn't healing I assume that means he won't be ready to go, so I don't see that as a violation of his contract. The guy has been to hell and back with this injury, I hope the best for him and his family.
  7. Most informed people have made their decision, and to think that a year and a half later we're still having this friggin' discussion.
  8. I want a lot more speed on that fourth line than Lucic brings. I think one or two of Boeser, Beau, and Hoglander will be gone too.
  9. He wasn't any kind of a tough guy, he was a pk'er and bottom 6 center. He certainly wasn't brought in to be a tough guy. Tiger did more than enough of that all by himself.
  10. Good crowd, but a bit of a snooze fest in the first quarter. The Lions defense is the real deal, the Elks had nothing. The front 3 or 4, is awesome, always getting pressure, and the defensive back field is a group of ball hawks. Folks get out and support this team, they. could. go. all. the. way. Thank you MR DOMAN.
  11. His knees gave out on him before he ever became lights out as you say. He played 7 NHL seasons. Vaive could score goals but he was one of the laziest players I've ever seen in a Canuck uniform. He fit the TML's to a tee. There's a reason they've gone SC winless since '67.
  12. I checked Wiki, he had 18 in his rookie season. 3 years as a Canuck, he hits the ground running in Bawston in his 4th season in the league.
  13. In all honesty have you seen him play on a regular basis? I know for sure I haven't, when I did he was playing the Canucks as not too many Wing games are on TV.
  14. Two head coaches under contract. Until I see a direction from this new management I'll hold judgement of your statement Alf. A glut of forwards, two bonifide NHL centers, (EP and JT), ONE NHL calibre D, and a supporting cast of 8 suspects, a true NHL starting goaltender when healthy, and not overplayed, all since this management group came in. It's their team, let's hold back on the back patting for now.
  15. I've been feeling this since the hiring. Everyone is saying all the right things to justify Tocchets' hiring, but, I dunno, I see him gone in a year too. It's the Canuck way I'm convinced. If this team hasn't shown that its turning it all around and going upwards in the standings, I see all of this front office group gone as well. The twins will be next up to bat by then, and maybe a guy like Ryan Johnson gets a shot too.
  16. Who was tough as nails even out of Junior. If I'm not mistaken he got 15 goals playing 3rd and 4th line minutes under Watt in his rookie season. He was oozing of talent, Pederson was the gamble part of the trade, coming off surgery, and giving up the 3rd overall (Glen Wesley) to add the cherry to the top it off.
  17. Tom Watt is who we have to thank for that debacle. I'm wondering if Tocchet is his reincarnation? I get those kind of vibes from him as coach.
  18. The steadiest of them all is Brisbois, I believe he's still under contract.
  19. Quick all you capologists, how does this work for Vancouver?
  20. Yes, Global always refers to younger folks than me "elderly". If they're elderly, what does that make me?
  21. I must have miscalculated, he would leave the house sometimes around 4:30am, and get home between 5 and 6 pm, other than bar nights, when he would do a double shift.
