  1. Well, doesn't that make your brown eyes blue!! My opinion, he's done!
  2. SEDIN NIGHT, HERE WE COME! See you all at the game!
  3. I swear I heard Ron Mclean say it was going to be a live ceremony across Canada.
  4. Apparently the ceremony is supposed to be on the entire Sportsnet Network. Check through your HD channels.
  5. Is the first "3" section 117? If so, I'm in one of those seats.
  6. Are you folks the same people that one of our TV stations has done interviews with in the past? Blimey, now that is what real fans do! Welcome to Vancouver and drink it all in, awesome to have you folks visit!
  7. You have to love this Chicago rivalry. Always eventful, entertaining, and full of surprises! This goes back to the good old Sweathog Division days, and the playoffs in '81 when they battled in that Stanley Cup run. How special that some of the participants in the latest Stanley Cup run are going to be in Rogers Arena tonight. Toews, Kane, Keith, Burrows, Luongo, Bieksa, Kesler, and Hansen. I'm almost as excited as I would be if this were a playoff game tonight.
  8. Does anyone have a list of the former team mates, coaches, etc., that are in town for the ceremony tonight? This is going to be one special night, and I can't wait. I'm going to pvr this as well, to replay it tomorrow, just to soak it all in. Class act by the Habs to allow Burrows to be a part of tonight.
  9. My son and I are going with the MODO jersey's for tomorrow night, just to be different.
  10. About the only thing I don't want to see tomorrow night is Duncan Keith handing out any kind of a gift to the Sedin's, period! That's if the Hawks are going to be any part of the evening ceremonies. This is the twins night, so all of you that think it's going to be cool to give Kesler the gears, why bother going? He might have been more than a bit selfish in doing what he did, but, it's water under the bridge, lets enjoy the night. Daniel and Henrik deserve that! Look at the glow on Brian Burke's face last evening, I don't think anyone was more happy to be there than he was, and I can't stand the man.
  11. Maybe aGENT those psychologist's were right. The Canucks are responding in those Black and Yellow jerseys. Which was why they changed the colours back in the late 70's. However, stick and rink all the way! Lose that damn Orca thing.
  12. Leivo is going to take a spot on this roster, so Schaller should definitely be waived, assigned and end up in Utica. Plus, who knows about Ferland? I hope that Big Mac and Bailey continue like last night, and make it difficult for JB and company to complete this roster for the playoff push. I hope Benning isn't forced into making a trade for the sake of doing one, but, if one is made, I hope its for defensive depth. I also think that Roussel is finally coming around as well, face it, he went through a very serious knee surgery, and has really only began his season.
  13. I'm old enough to remember that through the years every jersey was panned by this fanbase. EVERY ONE of them. Those yellow and black ones were mocked throughout the league for one. I still think the stick in rink is the best by far.
  14. My favourite Sedin memory: My son and I won a trip with the Canucks to Toronto in 2011. Of course the Leafs jump all over the Canucks in the first half of period one, and chase Luongo. The AC Center is going wild, I tell you Bob Cole, and we're all sitting in our seats quite subdued. The second period is completely different. The twins and Burrows take the game over, and win 5-3. All the Canuck fans drown out the Leafs fans from the beginning of the comeback with chants of MVP, MVP. It was like Toronto had never heard of them before, and I wonder why? I can't remember how many points each of them got in that game, but 4 each might have been close. The way they took charge of that game that night was incredible. We were down in the penalty box area, very good seats, and some of those long time Leaf season ticket holders had no idea what hit them. I've been around since the beginning of this franchise, and have never seen two players with so much skill and class play on this team. They deserve all the credit and accolades that are being thrown their way, best of luck Daniel and Henrik, and enjoy life after hockey! I'm going to the game on Wednesday night, with my son, just to take in one last magic moment. This is going to be a blast, see you all there.
  15. Just an observation on the fourth line. I wonder why it is that they seem to be the worst on the team for getting out of the defensive zone. Is it the D pairing with them? Beagle or Sutter win most of the draws, well over 55% of the time, yet they often get trapped into the fire drill after that. I'm going to watch who gets paired with them more often, but no matter how hard they work, they seem to spend more than enough time in their own end. Don't get me wrong, a healthy Beagle and Sutter from now until near the beginning of June would be huge for this team.
  16. The Coilers and the Flames both deserve Lucic on their roster. I'd like to see him get a run with the Leafs for the perfect trifecta.
  17. I still have those WTF moments when I recall Nonis drafting Patrick White. IF and I say a big IF the Sharks weren't up against the cap at the beginning of '09, would that Canuck team challenge for the Presidents Cup, let alone the Stanley Cup? How was that ever allowed to happen under Canuck management?
  18. Yes indeed. Wasn't it about this time last season when EP began to show the strain of a long NHL season? The closest player(s) to have ever skated so effortlessly, Coffey, Orr, and Housley, were unbelievable. Quinn Hughes is damn close to that skill level, and after all the angst of playing a full NHL season is showing no signs of slowing down. His confidence is off the map, and having never seen him play a college game, many were saying he didn't have an NHL shot. He hits the net most of the time, that's all you can ask, but now they're starting to go in. That wrister is sneaky quick, and accurate. I will add one more thing, thank the hockey gods for a healthy Chris Tanev this season. People want to move Tanev at the deadline??? I don't get it.
  19. IMO, the Houston Astros entire organization should have been suspended for one full year. Full stop. The entire organization should have their salaries suspended for one full year as well. If, and that's a big IF, MLB wants to stop this crap from continuing, this might get everyone's attention. Their World Series championship should also be taken away as well. $5M is nothing to a major league ballclub.
  20. That core looks worse than anything the Canucks iced all of last season.
  21. To be fair, those legends took almost 10 years to become Hart, Art Ross, and Selke trophy winners. The Sedins were drafted in '99, and Kesler in '03. The twins didn't arrive in Vancouver for three? years, and Kesler played on the Moose until '06 I think. The awards were won in '11. All three of JB's picks, Hughes, Boeser, and Pettersson, have had an immediate impact since turning pro, in less than three years after being drafted. A Calder win, a Calder nomination, and most certainly another Calder nomination is pretty damn good. Add in all three being selected to an All Star game, not too shabby. The twins and Kesler were unbelievable hockey players in their prime, something that will never be taken away from them, but, I think this core is going to be something special, and hey, there are more of them coming down the pipeline.
  22. Does this mean only one article on the Toronto Sports Network?
  23. I'm going to go out on a limb, and probably get flamed for it. I believe Jacob Markstrom is the best goalie this Canuck team has ever had, plain and simple. Anyone else agree?
  24. So, let me get this right. If Juolevi hadn't picked up two serious injuries since his draft season, you don't think he's an NHL defenseman?
  25. For sure! I'm all for riding the Green train, he's just starting to get the players he likes.
