Those bridges only affected Surrey, and all points East. As well, Maple Ridge and that area. Most of those folks have to commute over bridges into the City, therefore penalizing them to get to and from work. We could argue about which bridge or road should be tolled, but, until a transit system is in place for all of us, we'll be discussing this until the cows come home. Would a road/bridge toll work for the entire Lower Mainland? 50 cents a zone, which would be determined by boundaries, or landmarks. I have no idea how many vehicles are on the road daily, but would that not generate revenue to get transit to all communities?
I'm glad these workers are getting pay increases, they have a job, I would never want. This is good news for Greater Vancouver, the last strike went on for months.
