  1. This franchise has got the most colorful history when it comes to logos and jerseys out of all NHL franchises, that's not a positive thing. Stick to this concept. The Orca and colors work great. What I would like to see, using this jersey as a template: - Crest Logo is the Orca - Drop "Vancouver" - Shoulder logos is Stick in rink - "Bulkier" lines on the arms and waist - Collar fully white - A little more retro feeling basically, think it would be sick 100% they are bringing back the stick in rink jersey as the third so we got it covered! Speaking of that I want them to get rid of the JC logo all together on the jerseys. Cartoon lumberjack? Really?
  2. Sat daydreaming right now. Canucks get the 2nd overall pick. Draft Kakko. I drewel and get dehydrated until we watch a line of Kakko - Pettersson - Boeser dominate the league for the next 10+ years. Lot's of beer and highfives all around.
  3. Kappo Kakko keeps impressing me. He's taken over the drivers seat for number 1 in my books. This isn't a slight to Hughes, but a massive praise for Kakko. Pettersson and Kakko compliment each others games so well. Kakko has incredible hockey IQ just like EP. He has an ability to work himself out of tight spaces, just like EP. He's got a complete offensive package, just like EP. It all depends on where the Canucks are picking. I am huge on Podkolzin as well. What also intrigues me is the fact that he seems to be hard for scouts to place in their rankings. Potential to fall to a Canucks team that might be picking in the 5-7 range again. Could be another dream pick at #5 like EP. Kakko - Pettersson - Boeser 1. Kakko 2. Hughes 3. Podkolzin 4. Cozens 5. Dach 6. Turcotte 7. Byram 8. Lavoie 9. Broberg 10. Newhook
  4. Well since we are all swinging our big ones about our EP40 predictions here are mine from the past. Just keep scoring kid.
  5. He really is an alien.. Also, the devils pussy thing, what it actually translates to is f*****g c**t. I like your guys translation better though. Alien devil pussy EP40.
  6. All about how a franchise values it's assets. Burr didn't carry much value and it seems that Dorion and the rest of the crew didn't put too much value in Jonathan. Ottawa looks incredibly bleak right now. I don't like many of their draftees in the past few years.
  7. I'm pretty sure Brassard will return to the OHL for next season as well. Depending on how the season goes, that's when the ELC decision will come. Feels like a more logical approach considering the limit of contracts a team is allowed.
  8. Can't believe the Canucks are the ones that ended up with the best prospect for once.
  9. Sad to see a final ruined by refs and a select few players on the Canadian team that were embellishing. I'm glaring and staring at you Jordan Kyrou, I'm looking at you so hard it hurts my eyes Jordan Kyrou. Glad to see Gadjovich not being one of them and the penalty he took wasn't even a penalty. Refs ruined the final sadly. Elias is the GOAT. 10-15lbs and this kid is in the NHL. Very good tournament in my opinion for him considering the flu, bad linemates and Alex Nylander (lol). But seriously, Elias is going to be something special for us. I'm really excited.
  10. He's ridiculously smart out there, on both ends of the ice. Elias didn't have a bad game for those thinking that. The Czechs took over that game and were pretty dominant after the 1st period. Not a lot of chances for Elias to shine. He did however shine defensively creating a lot of turnovers. Love watching this kid play.
  11. Yup. A name the Swedish reporters brought up before the game and I do see why. Perhaps looks better than he is, due to the players he is surrounded with but he wouldn't have looked out of place in a team Sweden jersey either. Yegor Sharangovich, went undrafted last year. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=271111 On topic again, Elias was really really good tonight. The Swedish experts/pundits sorta chuckled every time he touched the puck and muttered things like "wow" "ooh look at that" "thats a smart move" for the entirety of the game. He thinks the game on a very high level and he shows a lot of creativity in his decision making. I kept thinking "just give it to Elias". I've watched him quite a bit in the SHL this season and all I can say is: get excited
  12. The language samples you posted is the correct way to pronounce both names. Then there is dialects and accents involved in the whole thing and yada yada. Jonathan is from my hometown and his dad actually grew up with the same group of friends as my dad. So my accent matches the way he pronounces it. My post was directed at north american speakers who pronounce things differently. They even use different muscles than you and I would if we are speaking Swedish or Danish. Questionmark when it comes to danish if you even pronounce your words or just breathe something out hahaha :D I'm joking <3. Fun to hear some other Scandinavians are on here as well, wouldn't have guessed you were danish. Really good samples there, so if anyone wants to hear it said rather than reading my attempt at making some sense out of it go ahead.
  13. Looking forward to him signing his contract with the Canucks.
  14. Swedish Chef here, you wondering about the pronunciation? EE(same sound as in "Event")LEE(Like bruce)AS(like in "aspiration) Elias. That video of 8 seconds is completely wrong. Stretch the "lee" part rather than the "as". It's a longer sound. After that i'll leave it up to you guys. You know how much cooler Forsberg sounds in english than in Swedish? Same goes with Pettersson. FORCEBUURRRG. With Pettersson it's important to notice the two "T's". It's not Peter (like Forsberg) - son. It's Petter. Like you're saying "Better" with a P. Finish that sucker off with a son. Elias Pettersson. Difference between Jonathan Dahlen and future Canuck Rasmus Dahlin? Dalhen - Daal (like the indian dish) en (like in "enter") Dahlin - Daal (like the indian dish) in (like in "info") I think that makes sense, at least in my mind.
  15. Been mulling over the thought of Gadjovich, Gaudette and Virtanen on a line. If they all pan out that could be one hell of a third line to play against.
  16. Just like I predicted! DiPietro with the 3rd round pick. Smart pick.
  17. Liking the outcome from the 2nd round!
  18. Wouldn't be opposed to selecting a goalie like DiPietro. Demko is the golden ticket but the Canucks need depth, period, in their prospect pool. I'm hoping they'll wait until pick 64 for a goalie however. One will slip. Would be ideal if Benning can bring in a forward and defender this round that will be impact players in the league. The cupboards need to keep getting stacked in these next few drafts if this ship is ever going to turn around.
  19. I don't think it's a bad pick, I just think there were better options available. Pettersson is a Canuck and I hope he becomes the best possible player he can become. I had quite a few players above him. Who knows how things will look in 5 years?
  20. Hey-ho-here-we-go, a little mock. NJD: Patrick PHI: Hischier DAL: Heiskanen COL: Liljegren VAN: Vilardi/Mittelstadt I think both Dallas and Colorado will go for D.
  21. alright.. will you have the same feelings for next years draft when there is a boat load of talent in the top 5 range?
  22. To those of you saying that "tanking" shouldn't be done - let's face it, the Canucks were just terribad this year - finishing 29th guaranteed the Canucks a top 5 pick. If they got a few more points on the board they could be picking at #7 or #8 with tonights outcome. Hopefully my boi Mittelstadt is a Canuck after this draft.
  23. Its certainly an interesting situation. Usually everyone is pretty onboard with where the majority of players will go. 3-15 this year could go in any possible combination. The reason its interesting is that because the players are so interchangeable, scouting will be even more crucial. To pick out the one gem out of a group of 10-15 players that are of similar pedigree.
  24. Rawr. This upcoming training camp is going to be real interesting to follow with the amount of decent looking prospects in attendance. Wonder if we will see another McCann come in and surprise everyone and force his way onto to the team.
