Benn to get hearing for crosscheck .

if/when the Stars lose tomorrow, does Benn lose a game's salary as a result of this, since it would carry into next season? -
Yeah, I thought I would like Brady better, just given how much of a tool Matthew was. It's funny, I used to work with someone who knew them growing up, and she had nothing but glowing things to say about them. Not sure what ages they were then. I struggled to keep my opinions to myself, cuz she's too nice herself. Is it just me, or does it seem that Matthew has matured some, and isn't quite the complete d-bag he was in a Flames jersey?

[Report] Maple Leafs part ways with GM Kyle Dubas
Kragar replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Taxes are a known issue, and there was criticism on the big contracts every step the way, before COVID. Signing Tavares was outright stupid. Maybe Dubas didn't want to, and it was just a big PR move bringing a star back home. Tavares had not earned an 11M AAV contract in 2018 and he surely hasn't shown to deserve it since. When AM's contract is up the following year (and MM's for that matter), locking up that much on Tavares was nuts, as you know AM is going to get paid more. Tavares has been better than PPG once in TO, his first year (I know, last year he was exactly PPG). At this point, odds are his production isn't gonna trend up. We're likely going to do better here with Miller's far cheaper contract, and we all know how many CDCers want him gone. If Dubas was pressured to make all these big signings, then that can absolve him of a good portion of the blame. If so, how do we know he deserves credit for any of the decent moves made this year? Maybe those resulted from pressure from above too, and he was just the geek-chic figurehead the whole time. Maybe he gets to prove himself elsewhere. But if that doesn't pan out, he can always get a job at TSN. They sure seem to like him. -

Meh, I just don't see it. Granted, I don't have the time or opportunity to focus on the league in a broader sense as some of you here, but I struggle to see the good he did. Maybe Shanny deserves some of the blame, or even more, but considering his experience and multiple Cup wins, I would think he would well understand the importance of a better balanced roster and good goaltending. Dubas signed so many big contracts. The top 3 forwards are often seen as overpaid, and IMO Tavares is the worst of the three contracts. The Flamingo Kid took his time getting to a point where he looks to be earning his contract, so his can also be seen as an overpayment. Rielly's seems even worse to me, giving term and money to a (almost?) veteran offensive D with only 2 decent years of production on a high scoring team. Who knows, maybe we'll be blessed to see the Leafs continue to overpay chasing regular season excitement, at which point we can confidently blame Shanahan. Perhaps we can see Dubas continue his apparent style in Pittsburgh or Ottawa, and continue to mock them both. -

Isn't it time TSN and Sportsnet start taking about the Matthew's amazing hangover cure, or favorite golf balls? Playoffs have been over for a week now. -
Funniest part I found was part way through the video, after multiple rear-ends while doing 100k/h and while talking to the police, that maybe it was a good time to put their seatbelts on.

Hey Dubas! There's an opening in Calgary for ya -
Cops eventually caught the guy, as mentioned further in the article.

At first I wondered if Leon got a little too pissy https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/i-felt-like-he-was-out-to-kill-edmonton-men-say-their-vehicle-was-rammed-20-times-on-the-henday-1.6402521 For space concerns, I won't quote the whole article, but there is a video in there taken by the victims. Definitely scary, especially since they notice that the attacker also has a gun.
