  1. I think I’d be willing to part with Petey,Garland & OEL…

I mean, Petey for whichever team drafts him, might not even be enough.

We’re not getting Bedard. Only hope is that he signs with us when he becomes a UFA.

Parting with Petey would be one of the worst decisions this franchise could make. Thank goodness we’re not running the team.

I agree that Petey has been performing just fine in the playoffs (bubble). He was either just under a point per game or over. How many players can we say have performed close to a point per game in the postseason at the tender age of 23?

Sedins didn’t, and they’re considered a part of Canuck lore. Bure did, but he’s an exception in this franchise’s history. Was Linden? Who else?

  3. Do you take on Dadanov's contract if we don't make the playoffs and Vegas does so? Trade Dickinson back in the trade, Ferland LTIR.

I'd rather we make the playoffs and Vegas be a laughing joke

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

Yeah, we might be on his list of teams that he doesn’t want to go to unfortunately. And he’s over 30 isn’t he? Doesn’t fit the age group where JR says he wants to get younger.

  4. Just saw Beagle lose his mind vs ANA.  Where was that fire when he was here?

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

well, he’s in Arizona. Anyone would be fired up, after having to endure so much losing in one season. Who the &^@# wants to play for that franchise. They’re an embarrassment to the league.

  5. VGK has gotten progressively worse each year. They started at the top (SCF) with 109 pts, then the next year 93 pts, then 86, then 82 and so far have 74 this year. They'll probably miss the playoffs for the first time, and could be a bottom feeder in a couple of years. I am a fan of this.

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

Yep. Me too. Each fan base has got to suffer before they can succeed. Vegas succeeded too fast. All good things take time.

  6. 5/7 of the next games leading up to the TDL are ones we should take. If that happens, does Rutherford stand pat?

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

I think it also depends on what the teams in front of them do.

If they keep winning, then we’re not really making up ground. Vegas hasn’t played well, though, and Edmonton is well, Edmonton. I get the sense that it kind of feels like false hope. Is this team as bad as it is this season? Probably not. I think if they came back with the same roster, under Bruce, they’re a much better team. Only question is, how can the team fit all of the current players who’s contracts are expiring soon (Miler, Bo, Brock specifically).

  7. The housing market is &^@#ed, the rental market is &^@#ed, and now everything's going to get more expensive because the cost of gas is &^@#ed. What a perfect era to be in my early 30's.

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

      I feel for you, man.

I don’t think Vancouver has always been this expensive to live in. There was a period of time when it was quite affordable. Gas was the one thing that was still relatively “cheap” - housing has always been expensive (at least in my lifetime). Save as much as you can, and put that towards an apartment (most realistic, in my opinion). Maybe family can help (if that’s a realistic ask?)

I’m even considering an electric car, just to save for the amount of gas. But EV’s aren’t cheap either (upfront costs). But paying $2 per litre is absurd. I guess I’ll be driving out to Abbotsford for cheaper gas until gas prices started going down (whenever that’ll be, IF it’ll ever go down).

Hang in there, buddy. You’re not alone in feeling the way that you do. At least we got the Canucks to talk about ;)

  8. Life under Rutherford.

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

I think JR did mention that he wanted to bring someone in who he could mentor. If that's true, then PA is being mentored under JR, so practically, JR probably driving this bus for the time being. He's not going to be here long term anyways right, is my understanding. So PA is going to be, hopefully, around longer with the franchise.

  9. my wish list; miller to the rangers for..schneider, skinner, baron and a first.

miller to boston for...lohrei, swayman, mast or zboril and a first.

    save lots of cap space.

      N4ZZY

For me, Laff and Schneider, plus their 1st for Miller +

If we can get that deal, then pull the damn trigger.

  13. Is there any realistic chance to trade for Lafreniere?

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

He’s young enough, that the label bust isn’t a concern at the moment. But if he’s not progressing in the next 1-2 years, then you have to wonder if he’s heading into bust territory.

if he’s given more of a top six role, does Laff flourish? Because he’s buried behind some pretty good talent, and skill on the Ranger’s top six.

Miller for Lafreniere? But how does that help our defense, which is severely lacking as well, besides Quinn.

  14. Miller to COL makes a ton of sense for me.  They are a contender, have the assets and with Kadri a UFA it could give them legit championship shot this year and next.  Cap gymnastics might be needed but if you can pry a Newhook or Byram as part of a deal out of COL count me in.

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

I agree. It’s got to be Newhook, Barron, and a 1st or a high 2nd. Does JR look at that, and see that as being as good as it gets?

  15. Rumors of Laine on trade block again. Boeser for Laine swap? Think both compliment each teams roster better.

  16. i wonder if NY would give us

    lundkvist, robertson, chytil and a

second rounder for JT and schenn?

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

      Possible.

But I’d rather go with asking for Schneider, Laff/Kakko, and a 2nd.

I doubt they’d give us a first, especially since Schneider, and Laff/Kakko are former 1st round picks (the latter being a former 1OA).

But the Canucks need to be asking for a huge return.

Don’t like Laine’s character. If he’s traded, would be his third team in a short span. No thanks.

      N4ZZY

I’m a little scared with Byram’s concussion issues, as he’s also quite so young too to be dealing with that sort of thing. So I don’t know if I’d want him back for Miller.

I think the ideal trading partner is probably the NYR.

Hearing that Miller is back, but not Demko.

Maybe a little bit more firepower tonight, but who’s in net? If it’s DiPietro, then I’m not sure a win is possible, given the Oiler’s two superstars. They could roast Mikey in net.

  22. Tough out of town scoreboard tonight, everyone's gained ground so far with only Calgary left to wrap up

    1. N4ZZY

      N4ZZY

If Demko isn’t in tomorrow night, I find it hard to believe that we’ll win that game. I mean, I was surprised on Sunday when the team wasn’t blown out by the Blues, but I don’t think Edmonton, after their recent losses piling up, is going to take it easy on the Canucks tomorrow evening.

Edmonton will be a tough task tomorrow night, especially if Demko and Miller don’t return. DiPietro starting again, against McDavid and Draistl? Yea, I do not like our chances with two of the top scorers in the league.

This unfair that the NHL is willing to allow games to continue with players going down.

the league isn't going to cancel the season. that's a ton of revenue lost.

      3 years only?

We had Benning for 8 years.

      EIGHT.

Holland for 3 years is short compared to the 8 eternity years we had him for.
