  1. and i think fans aren't sure if this is the "right" way that management is going about it. What Allvin is doing reeks familiar to what Benning did. And we all witnessed how that turned out. Almost a decade of futility, and draft picks gone to waste.
  2. Well, to be fair. They've had players that wanted to play there. Like Adam Fox and Panarin. They were luck to have won the lottery with Kakko and Lefreniere. They drafted a solid RHD in Schneider. They built to some degree through the draft.
  3. Yeah, a part of me doesn't understand why there was a rush to make this trade. If the Islanders make the postseason, it's almost a good bet that they'll defer their 1st to 2023, and on top of it, we gave away our 2nd in a deep draft as well. Do all GM's operate like this, where they seemingly give away draft picks like candy, or is it only the GM's that the Canucks tend to hire, especially the last few years.
  4. Yeah, I'll admit that I'm not familiar with Hronek's game, so I'm not entirely certain if he's a good add to the team or not. Technically, he's 24 yo, and not quite 25 yet (8 months until he turns 25 if I'm not mistaken). But Allvin's recent trades include players between 20-25, which I think is what they've stated before publicly. Kratsov - 23 yo Bloom - 19 Räty - 20 Hronek - 24 Who else have I missed? That's a decent collection of younger players coming back in a trade. With that being said, none of them are elite. and out of the 4 players that I've listed, I'd say 3 of them are projects and we have no idea if they'll pan out or not. We could easily strike out on all three. Lots of questions. Does Kratsov take off here in Van? Does Bloom actually develop and become an NHL regular, even if he's not a top or middle six forward in the league? Does Räty become a top six player? Kratsov (albeit, it's just one game he's played with the team) hasn't produced at all. Räty has 1 point the other day. Hronek, we'll see if he's going to be a good add to this team. Lots of unknowns, and those guys are much older than draft picks. I'm expecting one of either Miller or Brock to be moved at some point tomorrow, and I feel like that might be the end of Allvin's movements and work. Demko has to be staying, or else all of these moves make little sense. Livingstone has got to be on his way here.
  5. Can only hope. I wouldn't hold my breath though...
  6. Rutherford also had Crosby and Malkin. Two Franchise altering centres. We don't have franchise calibre players like that. We could have had a good chance at one this coming draft, but well, we all know that the entire universe hates the Canucks, so that won't happen.
  7. LOL. The man's impatience is going to be the downfall of this franchise. How can someone be that impatient and be a successful businessman? Successful business people are patient people, who understand when to make deals. Francesco's impatience would indicate he sucks at his business. Look at his toy.
  8. So why does it feel like most of the fanbase isn't happy with this trade? I was listening to 650, and they were mentioning how there might be a disconnect with how the fanbase sees where the team is at, and where management sees the team.
  9. I'm just curious about the timeline with this trade, and where management feels like they need to be heading towards. If the Canucks just started trading away their players for picks and prospects (i.e. Bloom, Kratsov, etc), this team probably isn't very good, and how do you get Petey and Hughes to want to remain with the team moving forward? If management is swinging for deals like Hronek, for draft picks, then you don't have a prospect pool (or at the very least, it's bottom of the pack), while the team isn't either very good. To me, this feels like the franchise is in no-man's land. Who do we blame for that? Rutherford's thinking that he can get the team to a competitive cycle again in 2-3 years, is insane. Is there any franchise in the league that has attempted the same thing and come out successful? I'm genuinely curious...
  10. Yeah. I was going to ask how he looked last night. But I figured he probably looked decent to invisible given that he's had no time to get accustomed to his team, he hasn't played consistently all season, and he's just arrived with the team in Dallas, after packing his bags from New York. Lots of transition in a short period of time, and not nearly enough to get comfortable and settled down. I think after a few practices and a few games, would be fair to gauge where he is currently at, and where he could be projected to be and to go. He's 185 lbs at 6'3. He looked thin in the pictures that I've seen him, or is that just me?
  11. Well, Tampa Bay is all in. They lost to Colorado last year right? But yeah, five draft picks for a player that isn't a top six player is insane.
  12. Yeah, it's crazy. I wasn't aware that Jeannot was a top six player. I mean, for a top six player, yes, this kind of makes sense to be giving away so many draft capital, and a prospect as well. Tampa Bay probably sees something that none of us are seeing?
  13. ah, just follow the commentary on here. It's probably more exciting than watching the actual game
  14. Allvin seems to be active... So I wouldn't be surprised if he's working the phones. There was a report recently that said that Allvin told JT's camp that he's not moving....
  15. I can totally see Demko not going anywhere. I'm not so sure about Miller, though, with the East and the teams, especially in the Metro Division - Carolina seems to be standing pat so far.
  16. Holy. If we could get 4 1st in this draft that would be amazing. Hope for the future on the horizon!
  17. Yeah, lots of teams in playoff contention are now battling and beefing up their teams for the postseason run. Carolina is the only team, and maybe Pitts, that hasn't done anything to beef their team up to keep pace with the other teams that have moves to strengthen their teams. Does Carolina get desperate? Rangers making moves. Jersey making moves. Toronto and now Tampa Bay. Only team that I see that is beginning to maybe feel desperate is Carolina.
  18. Yeah, we'd have to get a young C, ready to compete in the league for Miller, and a 1st to go along with that.
