  1. It'll be interesting to see what Boudreau could do with Demko in net. I think he could have had more playoff success with Gibson in net. So it seems like he's had good offensive teams, but not really great goaltenders to save his a$$ when the defense broke down. Demko is that guy. So I'm curious as to what kind of run the team can get on now. 6 games under .500, is it possible after this homestand, they could be 2-3 games under .500 and continue to climb from there? I wouldn't be surprised if by January 2022, they're either at .500, or 3-4 games above that. Super super low chance making the postseason, but it's not nil. so the players will still try. you never know as well, since maybe the other teams above them start going on their own losing streaks.
  2. I like what Boudreau also said. There's no reason why the team can't be great offensively and defensively.
  3. did the team look more structured in their system(s) and play?
  4. What do you mean? Do you mean with the way the team played tonight?
  5. Well, I’m rooting for Bruce. He seems like a really nice, lovable guy (when they’re winning). Did he have good goalies in Anaheim and Washington? Because Demko, in my mind, is a game changer in net.
  6. Yeah. I think if he had hired Boudreau earlier, you think he still has a job? I think he might, despite some really erroneous moves he’s made in the past. Most of his UFA signings have not worked out. That’s either bad luck, or just poor judgment on his part. I thought Green could have turned into a good coach. He’ll be a much better coach for the next team he coaches. Sad that it couldn’t be with us. But that’s the nature of the business unfortunately. I think Benning needed to go as well. He was a bad communicator. Terrible. He couldn’t seem to communicate well what he wanted to say, often looked like he was fumbling around with his words. Pretty sure he’s a smart man, but he didn’t do himself any favors in not improving his communicating abilities.
  7. Benning and Weisbrod didn’t use the rest of the staff? Ok. So they’re not team players. Good riddance that they’re gone. That’s not the sort of culture you create or perpetuate with winning, Cup winning organizations. Out with the unhealthy and toxic culture, and hopefully in with the new.
  8. Surprised that not more teams are poaching executives from Tampa Bay’s organization.
  9. I wonder why Boudreau hasn’t had much playoff success throughout his career? He’s had some really good teams, just could never get over that playoff hump.
  10. Just read them haha I wasn’t able to catch the game tonight unfortunately. Saw some of the highlights of the goals scored on twitter. But that’s about it.
  11. So the PK isn’t that much better than when Green had them? Hmmm. Boudreau might be getting the ire of fans still. Just not tonight. Everything is roses and beautiful tonight. LOL
  12. Just curious, but how is Boudreau’s coaching, even tonight, different from that of Green’s?
  13. I think your right on that assessment. I like Smyl. He’s a good man, and has been loyal to the Canuck organization for such a long time. He bleeds blue and green. I’m not sure if he’d be interested in that role either. So, might be a moot point.
  14. I don’t think it’s going to be full rebuild, though. I think we got some really good core pieces right now. Personally, I think the team is a couple of tweaks away from being a playoff contender. I didn’t say a championship contender, only because we need to get into the playoffs several years in a row, before making the move to Cup Contending team. Obviously that’s far away from now. But I mean, we could use Miller to get some pieces we need back, assuming that Podkolzin, and Boeser, particularly Brock, gets back to form. Might be too much to be asking Podkolzin to be filling in the shoes of Miller offensively, since he’s a rookie. But I think he can contribute enough to fill in collectively with others in the line up, for the possible departure of Miller. He would net us the most in return, personally. And I say that because I think the team’s gotta keep Bo. It’s hard finding centers, and we developed him here, and he’s a great #2.
  15. Well, couldn’t be worse than Benning. Low bar, I know. I think the Aquilini’s have to bring in 1. President of Hockey Ops to be a bridge between Francesco and the rest of the Aquilini family, and the GM. And of course, they need to hire a new GM. I like Chris MacFarlane from Colorado. I wonder if his name is being floated, or whether he’d be interested in the job here.
  16. I've also been high on Demko for many years, and believed that he was the franchise goalie for this team. We should've moved Markström before he walked to UFA. Could've gotten a decent haul for him, and that prospect or pick could've been in Abby right now developing. Unfortunately, a big part of Benning's tenure has been to allow his players who eventually became free agents the next season, to just walk for nothing. I don't know how that's ever a "good" strategy, but it was consistent with him. Not sure what the logic was behind that.
  17. I didn't get to see the game tonight. But how did the team play tonight, their PK, their PP, their five on five play, compared to how the team played under Green and Baumer?
  18. Much more loveable. Damn, Jabba ain't loveable at all. Damn slug....
