  1. I agree. Gotta get rid of Benning and his team. To me, it feels like the players have lost trust in management. Green probably needs to go, just because his voice might have been stale by this point. The players just need a new voice. He just can’t be there anymore. He’ll probably be a great coach somewhere else. But not here right now.
  2. Yeah. I decided to watch TV and not watch the Canucks. I didn’t miss watching the team lose.
  3. Poolman just wasn’t good tonight. Dickinson, I thought would’ve been the third line centre for this team. He’s been very poor. Like garbage. That’s yet another signing and trade that doesn’t look good for Benning. AGAIN. And there’s a lot of bad signings under Benning the last several years.
  4. Work environment matters too. If you have the owner always meddling in your work, I wouldn’t. Money ain’t everything. You telling me that some of the players on the team right now wouldn’t take a discount to play for a winner?
  5. Well, if the owners aren’t embarrassed that their own fans are booing them, chanting fire their GM, and throwing their jerseys onto the ice, I’m not sure what else they need. This all happened on HNIC - NATIONAL TELEVISION. Good grief. What “more” does ownership need before making a decision. At this point the decision that Benning knows needs to happen, that Green knows needs to happen, that the fans need to know what needs to happen, that media outside of Vancouver knows needs to happen. Everyone knows what needs to happen, and the owners still haven’t made the move that the entire universe knows needs to happen. What could they possibly be waiting for?
  6. Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if Green was fired tomorrow and then Benning shortly after him. It’s crazy that ownership has waited until the fans have indicated their displeasure by booing their home team and throwing a jersey onto the ice. Like, it doesn’t even make sense. It’s obvious before tonight that the team isn’t any good and that Benning and Green should both go. Why wait until you’re booed in your own building, where chants of “fire benning” come, and jerseys are thrown onto the ice? Like why wait until that point? Shows a lack of leadership. A crisis of leadership.
  7. I think the firing could happen tomorrow lol
  8. Well, that boat has certainly sailed now. Montréal moved much quicker than we did.
  9. Well, they should’ve done it a long time ago, because it’s obvious to anyone who can see that he’s not fit to run the business.
  10. But why would anyone want to come here and work for Francesco?
  11. we've craved for a great legit top four RHD, and we've never gotten one of those before. Ever. Juulsen is a good depth piece. But I'm all for rewarding good play, so if he hasn't played good enough in Abbotsford, then he'll remain there until he plays much better to deserve a call up. Until then, either the team upgrades through trade, or it's Burroughs playing his off side.
  12. Burroughs has been playing well, so no, I don't see Juulsen breaking past Burr 2.0 And he's been solid in his role. How has Juulsen been playing in Abby anyways?
  13. That's an interesting proposal. So, it'd be Miller for DeBrusk and Hamonic for Carlo? I think Hamonic for Carlo could be had 1 for 1. But Miller for DeBrusk? Miller's a top line forward. DeBrusk is what? 3rd liner? Maybe a 2nd liner?
  14. I knew this was going to happen. Ah well. What could go wrong this season so far, has gone wrong, so I'm not surprised that we haven't had any breaks on or off the ice.
  15. Yep. I think when you have a line of past presidents, GM’s and even coaches fired for taking a different stance than the one Francesco likes to hear, they're all relieved. That's not good ownership when you fire people that disagree with you. A group of "yes" people in leadership isn't good. It might sound, but that's where good ideas go to die. Disagreements allow for voices to be heard, but also new ideas to come up. It also allows the freedom from other staff to offer their insights, where hiring only yes people don't do that. It's where we are with the Canucks. Jim's a yes man. And look where that's gotten us today. He has a reputation now around the league. A GM with no backbone. Doesn't stand up for himself, and is questionable whether he has a vision for this team, or has he just been riding the vision of the owner? Making the playoffs and then praying that we go far is not strategic, and lacks foresight, insight, and planning. All things you need to produce a championship calibre team. Benning is not all bad, but man, if he would just have a backbone, I'd have more respect for the man. He seems to just lay down, and have no pushback whatsoever. Really does feel like he's limping his way through his GM career. Yep. I agree that get any of the other Aquilini brothers, just don't let Francesco run the Canucks, because you know, he's doing a $&!#ty job of that as we've seen. Maybe we need a chant going tonight on national TV.
  16. I tend to agree with this. I think it'll be very difficult for a top president or GM to come here unless they are given autonomy to do their work. Meddle, and they'll quit. Aquilini's reputation precedes them, and it goes back way before Benning was hired here, like you've mentioned. BUT. As a fan, I think we hold a lot more power than we realize. Especially season ticket holders. We have a voice, and we need to use it to make it known that ownerships direction sucks balls. We don't just want a playoff team. We want a &^@#ing championship contending team. Those are two very different teams, and you build them differently. One takes a ton of patience and deligence, while the other can afford to take short cuts only to be knocked out in the first round. The bubble playoffs is what I keep Benning referring to. But if that were a full season, we'd have missed the postseason.
  17. Yep. But the smart organizations generally stay away from incompetence.
  18. None of what you’re suggesting is going to happen. Sorry. Would take too much money, and the Aquilini’s are known to have cut back on the management side of things on the team. When it comes to the roster, they seem to spend to the cap. But when it comes to the management team, they’re cheap as hell. Doesn’t make much sense to me. Why not have a great team on both sides (managerial and on ice). Hire smart hockey people, and you most likely have an organization in the top five. I bet you that the Seattle Kraken in a few years are going to be a top team in the league. They’re hiring very smart people on their management side of things, as opposed to the Canucks being cheap on that.
  19. It’s very strange the way that the team has handled Hamonic. They call him up, only to loan him back to Abbotsford. Like, WTF. Does this have to do with Kale Clague being available on waivers?
  20. I wonder if the Canucks are making a claim for Clague. He’s a LHD, so maybe he slots in beside Poolman (RHD). Could be a decent third pairing.
  21. You lost me when you mentioned that Pearson is one of three viable forwards that could feasibly be traded.
  22. You know with this two game winning streak, I think Green’s got a little bit of a runway. I think this 6 game homestand will be his last stand. If it goes poorly, then I don’t think he survives. I can see a split 3-3 homestand? Which does nothing for the team. We don’t move forward, and we aren’t moving backwards, we’re exactly at the same spot as before the homestand. Does that warrant a firing? IF the team goes 1-5, then I think he’s done. Some pretty good teams coming through town during this homestand. It will be telling.
  23. We should be sellers this season, but we shouldn’t be selling everyone on the roster. Players I’d move: Miller and possibly Boeser.
