  1. assuming this management team can select the right player with their 1st round selection. Pick the wrong guy, and it's Virtanen and Juolevi all over again.
  2. Well, it's pretty obvious this is Petey's team now. Not JT, not even Quinn.
  3. I think Petey's only going to get stronger. He's already stronger this season, what is he going to be next season?
  4. I can't agree with you on this, because I haven't seen Beauviller play yet. More grit is probably true, cause Bo has never been a gritty player. And if Beauviller shoots better than Bo, how come he hasn't produced as much offensively?
  5. Sorry. The player who hit that massive hit was Petey, not Beau. Wow.
  6. Oh wow. I couldn't see the number on the player. I thought that was Beau, that's Petey. I don't think I've ever seen him hit like that in his career.
  7. Shiny new players are always exciting. I get that. I can't agree that Beau is a better player than Bo, if you're looking at production. And Beau's not that much younger than Bo either. 2 years?
  8. Then he'll be traded to another team that has a chance to win. I think I heard that his contract is more tradeable than Miller's? Or was that buyout?
  9. but at least he'll win more right? I mean, at least they won against Philly. If he were with the Canucks still, they would've lost to Jersey. So he's being paid 68M, plus he gets to win more? That's a win, probably in his books. Good for Bo. It's weird seeing him in an Islanders jersey, and he'll be there, assuming he's there the entire time of the contract, just as long as he'd have been a Canuck. How odd is that.
  10. It's really sad to see how far he's fallen. A fresh start for him elsewhere would be nice. But the return for the Canucks if he's dealt before the trade deadline probably won't be very good.
  11. This entire message board the last 10 years has been a Crisis Thread. Where have you been??
  12. JT's not a true centre. Though, with that being said, I think he played pretty well tonight?
  13. I mean, the Canucks over the last few years haven't been defensive stalwarts. Is that on personnel? Or is that on systems? Maybe a mix of both? But I'd be curious to see how Bo performs as an Islander in their system, which is supposed more defensive. He played against Philly tonight. Didn't register a point in about 18 min of ice time. New contract hasn't kicked in, will he maintain his points and goals pace? A part of me finds it hard to believe.
  14. I wonder too, how often he's going to be in the postseason with that Islander team. Many of their core players are in their early 30's. So this should be their time where they're making a push. Barzal and Horvat probably there for the long term for the NYI. So at least they got those two guys to build around.
  15. I really believe that a big part of that is management's "miscalculations" that Bo would take a discount regardless of how they treated him. They were wrong. I think Bo's pride took a hit, but also felt disrespected. After that disrespect, things just went downhill relationally. I really truly think that if management had started things with Horvat, that he would have given the team a "hometown" discount. I don't think he would be making 8.5M if the organization had approached him first. Probably 7.5M at the high end over 8 years. He should still be a Canuck. Management really f**ked this up. Then again, Lou Lammy is hoping that Bo can maintain at least a 60-70 point pace for the deal he signed. If he regresses back to his 50-60 point seasons, that contract is already going to look like an albatross not even 2 years into it.
  16. Yeah. Management decided which bed they were going to sleep in. And that's the Miller bed. I heard that Bo's contract was more friendly to a buyout compared to Miller's deal. If that's true, then f**k the Canucks, again.
  17. In some ways, I don't blame Bo for taking the money. He needs to take care of his family, and he worked hard to get that contract (got a good agent too). But I don't buy all that talk about he thinking he was going to be a Canuck forever. I think the 7.5M x 7 was only a rumor, wasn't it? I don't think that was confirmed. Well, time to move on. I got a Horvat jersey, and I'll keep it, because Bo put in some good years here as a Canuck. He was my favourite player. I'm not getting any more jerseys until Petey signs long term. But this is now his team moving forward. This management team better not screw up Petey's years as they did with Bo (previous management). I hope the Islanders don't do well, so that we benefit the risk that Lou took for Bo. Unprotected pick in 2024, OR another 1st and an opportunity to draft a core piece for the team moving forward. NYI pick your poison.
  18. LOL. That would be devastating for the Canucks. Bo coming back to the division, to haunt the team that traded him. Oilers are all offense, no defense and no goaltender. I can't see Horvat going to Edmonton.
  19. I mean this season seems like Klimovich is really coming into his own. He's only still 20 yo. I think he's gotta be like #2 behind Räty now, no?
  20. Thanks for sharing that information I feel like Räty's going to work out for us. That 1st rounder is more of the wild card, in my opinion.
