  1. I think Gillis as POHO maybe, okay. But Gillis as GM? No way. The man couldn't draft. We are upset with Benning and some of his moves, but at least the man gave us some really skilled and talented players (Petey, Hughes, Boeser, Podkolzin, Höglander, etc). I don't trust Gillis to be able to make good selections, especially in the later rounds. Who did he draft that was a later round pick? I'd like the McFarlane guy in the Avs organization. If we could get permission to talk to him, I'd be all in for that. I wanted Jeff Gorton, but he's now gone to Montréal.
  2. Get it on the airways, on media outlets, everywhere. Shame the organization, because "negativity" sells doesn't it? The louder we become, the more of a story it becomes not just locally, but nationally, even league wide.
  3. Green had a 70 point season (career high, 25G, 45A). For a second round selection, he had a pretty good career (455 points, I believe?) That's not bad
  4. Right? I don’t understand why they think they know better. This isn’t real estate, man.
  5. And Elias too right? If you’re going to include Brock who has produced almost as little as Petey, then you gotta include Petey in that list. The Canucks will go as far as EP will take them. And the way he’s going this season reflects that. I think this season is going to be his worse season of his career/life. But he’ll bounce back next season to be better, much better. What we’re seeing right now, isn’t him. Yeah, I’m not sure what Green was thinking letting go Big Mac and Gadjovich. The team can’t be made up of entirely speedsters. I’m expecting some sort of firing when the team is back home. Especially if they lose tomorrow against Montréal and then Ottawa. There’s not much more we can say about the team. All the talk is really about management all the time it seems. It’s depressing.
  6. I hear you. I think Benning’s mistake of not retaining Tanev was huge. He helped Hughes so much. And then he didn’t even offer what Schmidt was making. Actually, Tanev is cheaper than what Schmidt was making. I don’t understand Benning would bring in a more offensive minded defenseman, to replace the defensive defenseman he just lost. Was he thinking Schmidt could be a better version of Tanev? To me, Benning has made too many mistakes. The worse of them all was just how he doesn’t seem to be coherent about a plan moving forward. He would say one thing, and then he would do the complete opposite. It really did make me feel like we had a moron for a GM. That press conference was bad. Probably would’ve been best for the organization if he didn’t speak to the media actually. Statements in the past, when he’s said that he’s “ran out of time” - who the &^@# says that? Especially an individual in an executive position over an NHL team. Who openly admits that they ran out of time, even if it were true? It made him look like a complete fool when he said that. Sportsnet post-game tonight mentioned how they don’t think that Benning would get another GM job in the league. Maybe another position or work (scouting most likely), but not GM. I don’t think they’re wrong on that front. The blunders he’s made, and many of things he says, has not helped him sadly, and hasn’t helped the franchise he’s overseen the last 8 years. He’s going to throw Green under the bus. That’s what people do when they’re cornered, and Benning has no choice if he wants to keep his job (for the time being). And Green’s also responsible. But if Benning is going to blame Green, he needs to also realize that he was the one who brought him in, and then extended him for crying out loud. The guy just isn’t a good GM. He’s probably a really nice guy, and a great friend to grab a beer with. But that’s not who this organization needs. We need a quality GM who knows what he’s doing, who has a plan, who has a backbone to stand up and not agree with everything that Francesco wants. I have never been so apathetic about this team ever. We are now the laughing stock of the league. That’s hard to do when Buffalo is in the league.
  7. If Benning is doing that, I don’t have confidence it’ll get done.
  8. I mean, what would you get for Brock? He hasn’t produced nearly the way he should. We’d be selling so low on the guy, would be a bad trade right off the bat. He’s going to bounce back, because this level of performance from him isn’t sustainable over the course of the entire 82 game season.
  9. If we could get a 1st and a prospect/young player in return (especially a RHD) that would be gold. He would help another team for sure. Gotta give to get.
  10. What has soured you on JB specifically? I want those guys gone as well. They really have not done a good job at all here. And they’ve misjudged on so many levels so often, it’s not even funny.
  11. I think just rumors, but also based on the fact that Bo has said that he doesn’t think he can go through another rebuild. I think another rebuild would be tearing everything down. The current core. I think a re-tooling of the current group so that there’s a better mix than the one that currently exists. I think he would be okay with getting a better mix in the room, because the current mix just ain’t doing it. If management doesn’t do anything with the mix, then we might have an issue. With that being said, what if the only change is the coaching staff? I’d be really surprised if they went on a run after Green and his staff’s dismissal. Would speak volumes as to what the real issue was all this time.
  12. I definitely between the two, Miller is the one that definitely would leave if he sees this situation next year. It’s very possible that we could lose both to be fair, if we’re in the same place this season, next.
  13. If Miller wants 8-9M, then we definitely need to trade him before he’s a UFA. Maybe this trade deadline is a good time as any to trade him and get maximum value in return.
  14. I think Bo does want to stay a Canuck. But it’s hard right? I can see how he’s torn over this. It’s a business at the end of the day. He’s gotta do what’s best for him and his family and his career. If management wasn’t such a cluster &^@#, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation about whether Bo wants to be here or not. I find hockey players to be generally loyal compared to NBA players, or other players in other leagues (especially soccer).
  15. I think it’s hard to say now. But if next season is much the same as this one, then he’s probably going to want to go to a winner. I wouldn’t blame him in choosing to do that either. If the team is where it is this season, there’s a lot of turnover i suspect that’ll happen. Can’t see Miller staying either.
  16. Surround him with a legitimate team and coach, and i think he soars. This organization from top to bottom would be hard to work for. It’s a mess. If the fans are frustrated, can you imagine being a player?? Surround Bo with a good team, with good systems, and he will flourish. I truly believe that.
  17. I guess I can understand that he hasn’t turned into a great captain. But I don’t think we need Bo to be a great captain. We need him to play as well as he can. I don’t think Bo’s the problem on this team. And if we can have a bounce back year next year, or even a much better second half, which could lead him to think that the organization is serious about becoming a contender, I could see him possibly signing with the team long term. But there has to be proof in the pudding right? So the next GM and the next head coach will have to be able to sell that to him and others on the team.
  18. We can’t afford to have a player that turns into Cody Glass. That would be a complete bust again. And would set us back even further.
  19. Should protest in front of Rogers Arena. Remove Francesco. Need the smartest of the brothers to be CEO of this franchise.
  20. NO. I do not want a player of his stature to represent this team and my city.
