  1. I'm not sure I'd do it. Boeser + a 1st? No way. Brock's got a better head on his shoulders, and that alone is a good add to the dressing room. How do we know Laine won't absolutely kill the already dysfunctional locker room as it stands right now? CBJ would be asking too much. Their GM is also very smart. I don't trust Benning to do business with another smart GM. If those were the conditions. A fleecing will occur on us. Pass for the time being. I'm not even sure if Laine wants to remain in Columbus. He looks like a player to me that loves the big big city and spot light. New York. Los Angeles. Chicago, even.
  2. Yeah. I hear ya. Playing the right way is great, but if you're not winning....what's the point. LOL Looks like Montréal is cleaning house faster than we are it seems.
  3. Is Lefreniere going to be a franchise altering player? Because that is kind of what we need. Will he be better than Bo?
  4. Well, I guess the Sens are thinking they have nothing to lose with Gaudette. If he doesn't work out then he's on waivers again, and if he doesn't get claimed, then Ottawa's got some depth. I'm surprised Benning hasn't claimed anyone that's been on waivers. Feels like he's been neutered from making any sort of decisions. He's been soooo quiet.
  5. I think the way this team is build is more offensive minded than defensive minded. They can play defense, not like they're only offensive players only. But I think they're a first first team. Whether Boudreau can get more offense out of the current group of players is another question entirely.
  6. That's true. Though with that being said, I could see Lammikko being waived. He hasn't been that great either.
  7. not right now they don't. or they don't get the maximum value they could. would be the benning thing to do wouldn't it? either allow him to leave as UFA or trade him for peanuts.
  8. Can they work out a deal aside from going to arbitration? Like say, try to sign a 3-4 year deal on something less than the QO.
  9. Claim him. Why not. This season’s such a wash. But Gaudette couldn’t be worse than Lammikko right? We need centre depth, and we need a centre that is right handed, which we have none of. If he sucks ass, just waive him again lol and maybe Chicago claims him back hahahaha
  10. Pretty obvious that Brock hasn’t been nearly good enough. He ain’t getting his QO of 7.5M for a performance like this. They’re probably negotiating a contract to see if they can sign him short term. Either that, or Boeser leaves as a UFA if the team doesn’t qualify him right?
  11. Could you imagine if he plays this way next season?? Oh man…
  12. I think if they lose to Boston (which is likely), and then lose again to Montréal, I think Green’s definitely done coming home. That means this team has gone 0-2 so far. If they lost to Boston and Montréal, they’d be 0-4. That definitely is grounds for a firing. I think late November or early December is when Green’s fired. That’s my prediction at least.
  13. I’m not sure I want Babcock with this team. They’re so fragile, it seems. I’d like Julien (a better defensive systems coach), or Boudreau (offense style coaching).
  14. I think the one who has ownership’s ear isn’t JB. I think he’s lost the confidence of ownership. He’s on a tight leash at this moment. We haven’t heard from Benning and it feels like he isn’t allowed to do anything without the owners’ permission.
  15. The players and coaches can say whatever they want. But at the end of the day, the way the players play, their body language says more than what they are “supposed” to say to the media. It is clear to me that Green has lost the room. I think his voice has gone stale.
  16. I know it’s been bad. I expect changes to be made soon, as soon as this road trip is over. If the Boston game gets out of hand, I expect Green to be relieved shortly after. They cannot have those kinds of performances at home, because fans are getting to the point of apathy. And apathy leads to anger, and anger leads to a disassociation of the team. Not that we’re not going to be cheering for the fans, but long term fans are probably not paying hundreds of dollars in a COVID atmosphere and world where money is tight for most - how does ownership and management expect fans to continue watching such a bad product on the ice. BUT. I still believe in Pettersson’s talent. He is having such a bad start to the year, but he’s a good player. Let’s give him that. Has he been good this year? No. But I don’t think it’s just Petey. I think there’s a lot of layers to the problem that the Canucks are facing. I’m not sure if the fan base right now would be able to tolerate a full rebuild, since it’s felt like we have just gone through one 8 years ago. But Benning and his team botched that, and tried to take shortcuts at the advise and command of their owner, Francesco. Look where that decision(s) has gotten them. This is a bad team. If Benning and Green don’t go, I expect the following to happen: - Bo to walk as a UFA - Boeser to be traded - Miller to be traded It won’t be a “full” rebuild, but new management probably bringing new players, for fresh blood, new coach, and new vision. I personally would go through a new rebuild, as long as it’s not under Benning and co, and not under Green’s system (again, whatever it is).
  17. Ah. Is that what everyone seems to be talking about on the post-game show. I wasn’t sure what people calling were talking about.
  18. No one on this team deserves the C except Demko? Eh, we’ve done this before with Luongo. Not a fan of giving the captaincy to the goalie. It didn’t work very well for us the last time the organization did it. We have deeper issues than the captaincy. Systems is a big part of the problem, and that usually lies with Green and his coaching staff.
  19. Would be curious to know what Markström’s save percentage is. If it’s higher than .900 then it has to be systems, and that has a lot to do with coaching. Man, listening to the post-game show, I feel for Bik and Shah. It’s tough doing this night every night the team is playing.
  20. Yeah. Well, Francesco’s got it. We are blaming him, and he’s been quiet. What a stupid thing to do. From top down, this team has said stupid things. And I’m not sure what motivated Petey in saying that. Good players, great players make others around them better. Pettersson hasn’t done that, his comments earlier this summer was actually for me, quite surprising, and then how he’s started this season has been downright frustrating especially in light of what he has said.
  21. Love how Podkolzin has been playing. Definitely gaining confidence with the way he's been playing. Hoping that confidence continues and he puts up goals and points, because the rest of the top six aren't getting it done. How did Petey look tonight? I wasn't able to watch the game (not that I wanted to).
  22. I think he could've done much better with this current team than Green has.
  23. Well, he can keep his pride, but he's going to tarnish the brand of his toy. which is is Francesco? Can't keep your pride, and continue to make money with the Canucks. Either eat some &^@#ing humble pie and admit that you have been playing GM behind an incompetent GM, and coach, or you make changes, and start to make money again.
