  1. I turn on the radio online to listen to the game, and the Jets &^@#ing score on a 6-5, to make it a one goal game. I hope the boys win, but I don't feel confident that they'll hang out.
  2. I think that would be an amazing offer. But JT has two more years before he's a UFA. I'd push for Schneider, Krastov (maybe he stays in the KHL, even if he's traded to Van), and a 2nd round pick to go along with that. Kravstov's hold out would worry me if I'm GM, then again, it is Benning....
  3. To me, it's just Miller and Boeser. I think we need to try to retain Bo.
  4. Yep. I agree. 2.75M is a lot for a coach that hasn't accomplished much in his tenure either. But hey, it's Francesco's money. If he wants to throw away his money, all the more power to him to do that. But I ain't supporting a $&!# product on and off the ice.
  5. Yeah. people are saying to trade players and just start over. This is a business. I think Vancouver is in similar situation to Calgary of last year. I too, want the team to hire an experienced NHL head coach, and I'd like to see what they can do with this current group before blowing it all up and starting over. AND, if we're going to start over, I'd like a new GM to spear head that. Benning, sadly, as nice as he is, doesn't deserve to rebuild this team. He had a chance the first time around, and well, see how that's worked out for him, and the organization, and the fans here. We &^@#ing deserve better. MUCH BETTER.
  6. i think this is 5.5 over two years, right? Not 5.5 per year?? Cause if it's 5.5M per year, that's just a really bad deal. But then again, why is that surprising? Bad deals seem to be the thing with this franchise. Francesco's bad deal? Hiring Benning. Benning's bad deals? Too much to list. But let's just it's a lot. Green's bad deals? Just as much as Benning's. Can't think. Bad deals. ugh.
  7. he wasn't. and that's the major problem isn't it. the ownership doesn't seem to think. management doesn't think (no plan). coaching can't adapt (again, not being able think, let alone think outside the box). See? There's a recurring theme here from top to bottom. These men can't think.
  8. maybe he doesn't see himself as part of the team. weird, nevertheless. this whole franchise is weird.
  9. I’m not surprised. Losing can do that to any player. Did you see the Jim Benning press conference this morning? He looks like he’s dead man walking. He looks uninspired. He sounded depressed and uncertain. If I was a player and saw that press conference, am I confident about anything that came out of his mouth? Do I believe him? Because if I was a player, I’d be shaking my head even more. With that being said, you have to wonder the character of this team in diversity. None of them seem to be able to rise above the diversity, and that’s telling, at least for the time being. If they’ve given up, 18 games into the season, then that tells us more than we need to know about their psyche and mentality. No doubt they’re a fragile team, and the Jets tomorrow are going to try to plummet them and remove whatever confidence is there, and coast to a win.
  10. Yeah, no kidding eh. But if you’ve turned over the roster that much, and the team still isn’t doing well, then it’s gotta be the coach and his systems, no? Or is it the players that the GM has provided that isn’t a match with how the coach wants to play? If that’s the case, then that’s more of an issue of lack of communication isn’t it?
  11. Oh man. Milbury was just insane. How the Islanders ownership could allow him to run their franchise for so long and did so much damage is beyond me.
  12. I think they're going to lose tomorrow night. Sorry. But I just don't see anything in the team right now that would indicate that they're turning a corner. Their PK still sucks. Their powerplay still sucks. Their top players aren't producing. That all spells like a loss to me. I'm sorry to say this, but I hope it's a lopsided loss, because at least that could expediate things for management and coaching staff - their firing. Even Benning said that this team is fragile right now. No $&!#. What's Winnipeg going to do in light of a statement like that? They're going to physically punish the boys tomorrow night, knowing that there probably won't be pushback. and if the Canucks were to be put on the PK, it's golden &^@#ing feasting time. GOALS GALORE. with that said. I say, 6-0 Jets.
  13. It's not high that's for sure, not right now at least. It's crazy to me that this market who defended Petey like no tomorrow, has now turned their back on him. I'm frustrated that he's played like $&!#, just like any other fan on here. But trading the player when he's produced so well for us since he's got here? Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Something is wrong that's for sure. And it seems like he's pissed off at someone - whether that's management (Benning/Weisbord, etc), coaching staff (Baumgartner? Green? King?). He's definitely not himself, and I think it's more mental than anything else. Like I've said before. I want to see where he's at later this month. But if he's not producing by late November, early December, then you have to think that this season is a write off, and heads will roll. I can't see Miller wanting to remain here if nothing changes this summer. I can't imagine Bo wanting to ride out the latter years of his career in his twenties, going through yet another rebuild. What I'm curious about is whether team needs a full on rebuild, or do they need to change some of the pieces moving forward? Miller is a piece in my mind, I'm not certain that he wants to remain here as a Canuck. Need to try to keep Horvat in my perspective. Losing your captain is a huge blow to the dressing room. I think Bo's well liked in the dressing room too, though that's ony a guess, since I don't know for sure. Can't say the same for Miller unfortunately in my opinion.
  14. Okay. let's assume that's true. Why would he have done nothing to improve his skating and strength over the summer?
  15. If management did that, how does Miller becoming captain do that to the room and the guys that have battled with Bo? He needs verbal support from someone to come out and say "Look. Bo's our captain. He's our guy. We're behind him, and we're going to war with him out on that ice." Nobody has said anything to that effect. This team isn't a team. I'm not even sure if they're friends in that room. Maybe there's really no comraderie there. I wouldn't be surprised to hear if the rift between "alpha dogs" is Bo and JT. Whoever is the problem/cancer, gotta trade that guy. I just hope it's not Horvat. He doesn't seem the type. JT Miller on the other hand....If he was such a good player and a good presence in the locker room, why did Tampa Bay let him go? Wasn't just because they were up against the cap?
  16. Not me. Love Bo. I still think he's a good captain for this team. It's hard being captain of this franchise in this city. We are crazy for the Canucks. Bo's struggling in his game for sure. But I don't think we can single him out for that. Can he better? Absolutely of course. But the whole team has to be better. To be frank, I have no idea how they'll be better. I mean, for tomorrow's game, I'm already thinking they've lost that game to Winnipeg. A big brusing team coming to town? Yeah, we definitely going to win that one -___-
  17. Sorry. I should clarify. Anyone who's currently in an active executive position of an NHL team that's worse? I'd say Doug McLean has also been bad as well, but he's not active.
  18. I like Brock as a player. I don't like Brock as a player at 8M. that's going to hamper the Canucks even more heading into the future, whether Jim is here as GM or not. I think if the team continues to tank this season and not do well and miss the postseason - I think Green and his staff are gone, as well as Benning. So I expect a new management team coming into the off-season and attempting to turn things around for next season. I really can't see Boeser here if he's asking for the moon, and the team shouldn't give it to him, so if that's the case, then he'll need a new team, and we need assets coming back to either fill Boeser's position, or have young players/prospects that could do that in time. It's too bad, because I think there was a way to keep all the players if management actually managed their internal team cap properly and signed good UFA's, and not to ridiculous deals. Curious to see what's going to unfold in the coming weeks, especially after this homestand. If Winnipeg wins tomorrow night, ugh, that'll be 0-2 on this current homestand with the Blackhawks who have been playing better since they've fired their coach. It's very possible that we could go 0-3 on this current homestand as well. Could that get Green fired?
  19. Right. But they're going to have to replace Green if he's let go. Shaw is the most likely candidate. If it's not him, who would it be? King or Baumgartner? No way.
  20. Yeah, but staying healthy is a huge deal. Obviously can't produce if you're not healthy. I mean, does his ability to stay healthy come into those discussions for an extension and the deal that he/his agent wants? I don't think we can afford him to be honest. I'd love to keep Brock, but he and Miller might be the players that might have to be moved out and get some younger prospects/players coming back. Can the Canucks even afford Boeser when his current deal is up?
  21. He's having one hell of a year to start. 5 shutouts already. Could be on his way to 10 SO the entire season, maybe more. I understand why management allowed Markström to walk. But if they decided that Demko was the guy, couldn't they at least have traded him and rolled the dice with Demmers moving forward? They allowed yet another asset to walk away for nothing. That has been an MO of this current management. I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed Miller to walk for free instead of trading him for pieces coming back. It's the way of Benning and Weisbrod, which sucks. I don't know another worse GM/AGM tandem in the league that is worse than they are right now. Who's worse?
  22. I think the coaching is probably the thing that changes soon. Green and his assistants probably done after and around the 25 game mark. Shaw comes in as interim head coach. And then offseason, complete search for a new coach. I think if the team misses the playoffs, Benning will be canned. I don't think ownership can continue with fans becoming more and more apathetic. Ownership will make a chance or else their bottom line will be affected badly. If the same GM and coaching staff come back next season, I can see season tickets plundering like no tomorrow. If owners are smart (I have my doubts on this) then Benning will be fired this off-season, search for new GM, and then that GM will see what Green is like, probably fire Green and hire his own coach. And then we'll be ready for the new season. If they start the same way as this season, then I see players being moved out - like core pieces.
