I think the owners know that if they did a full rebuild, the arena would be empty on most nights. Vancouver loves a winner, and if there isn't one, people don't come out to the games apparently. Aquilini is a businessman at the end of the day, so he's going to make the best decision for his business. And that's having people in seats, even if the illusion is that fans have a "playoff" contending team, which this team, as it currently stands, is not.
