  1. He would have been perfect for tonight's game to be honest. Tough, and he can push back physically.
  2. Surprised nobody stood up to Faksa for that knee on knee..
  3. Yeah, for sure it's a team effort. Of course I'm hoping the team will win tonight! There's always a chance right? Unless you're Arizona.
  4. haha. I dunno. if I had to guess, probably retired by now.
  5. if it's been as bad as it has, I'm guessing Baumgartner. So what's Brad Shaw's responsibilities then?
  6. Yeah. Let's hope they can kill some of those penalties that are inevitably coming our way. Move you feet guys!
  7. I've played basketball competitively, and I understand what you're saying. It's hard man. The other teams that you're playing aren't just going to roll over and let you win. Even when I was on my basketball teams throughout high school, when we faced a good team, we didn't just think we were going to lose. We went into that game thinking we could win, and that we had a chance. We played our hearts out, and tried, and hustled. Sometimes we were overmatched and we just weren't good enough, but that didn't deter us from trying to win.
  8. Man, I am worried about that PK. It's now dead last in the league isn't it? And while the PP had a resurgence of sorts last game, it's hard to tell whether it's "back" or still on life support. But the team can't afford to take penalties tonight, because from a fan's perspective, there's almost zero confidence that they can kill it off. I wonder if that's starting to cast doubt on the players themselves on whether they'll be scored on if they're on the PK. I hope not.
  9. Alright that's great. I know we're not the biggest (in terms of physically big) team in the league. But we're not the smallest either, and I don't think the team plays small. I know in years past, when the team would head down to L.A. or Anaheim, we'd always get beat physically down there, and more often than not, we'd lose coming out of the California trip. We're at home tonight, but that doesn't really mean much since the start of the homestead where we're like 2-4? Rogers Arena isn't necessarily a fortress for the home team, and it's not necessarily a place to fear to play in. Horvat, I'd even say Garland as small as he is, plays quite physical for a guy his size. He's not afraid to hit, and be physical. Love that about him. I'm more concerned about Petey with a game like tonight because he's such a thin guy, slight frame. Afraid that he could get injured in a game like this against players that are large, specifically a player like Getzlaf.
  10. So still looking for a legitimate third line centreman.
  11. They're pretty good. Excited to see how that McTavish kid is looking. I hope the Canucks can contain them. Anaheim has always had a brutish, big kind of team. I hope we won't be getting pushed around tonight.
  12. I like Klimovich as well. But I think the Rangers would be asking for much more than just him. as a fan, I think I'm concerned about attitude as well. How is Kravtov's attitude? His willingness to learn. Klim's attitude seems to be a very good one. Good head on his shoulders, willing to put in the work and time. I believe he will make it to the NHL one day onto the Canucks either as a middle six forward, or a top six one. He's got a lot of talent. I think this is often true. Like wasn't that one of the reasons for why Podkolzin dropped in the draft? Because he was playing in the KHL, and if he didn't get "his way" he could always bolt back to the K? Lots of GM's are afraid of Russian players, not because they're not good, the opposite, but it's because they always have that "I could go back to the KHL" threat in their back pocket. I'm glad Podz seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders, and a positive attitude.
  13. what kind of red flags would you be talking about with him and his game?
  14. I wonder what it would take to get him in a Canucks jersey.
  15. Yep. They went to the Cup Finals not too long ago. Can't say that with any of Jim's teams.....yet.
  16. Yeah. Might just be getting into form. Let's hope for another strong game from the boys tomorrow night!
  17. I dunno if any NHL team wants to take on the risk of someone like him. At least with this current management group, that ship has definitely sailed. He's not even at a point per game in the KHL. There's probably a dime a dozen players in the league that have better, stronger character who could play in the bottom six. And that's what Virtanen would be if he came back to the league. He would be a bottom six, role player. Time to move on from Jake.
  18. Man, we need a Malhotra type coach to work the guys with their face offs. I think the team's face offs in general has been poor.
  19. Horvat had a great game last night. He's so under-rated.
