  1. Yeah, tell me about it. I'm sick and tired of the GM moving our first round picks. I can understand it to get out underneath the bad contracts that Benning signed. He needs to get into win now mode or else 1) his job is on the line, 2) Petey's threat this past Summer of him leaving in a couple of years. Unfortunately, this isn't NHL21, where you can just turn off the limits for trades, and trade McDavid for a 7th round draft pick, or just put together random players and expect them to turn out well. The GM has the responsibility to create a good mix and chemistry of the team. I really want this team to gel and work out. We have some really good parts, especially the top nine forwards. The defense, ugh, like you've alluded to, could use a lot of work, especially the defensive pipeline. We have no blue chip prospects to really get excited about.
  2. Which makes keeping those draft picks even more damn important. Cheap depth, on entry level contracts. If the team tries to sign UFA's, they usually, as we've seen, don't come cheap, even for depth players like Beagle, Sutter, etc. Draft and develop. The best teams in the league have the best resources with this. Clearly, we are not among the best in this area of the organization.
  3. Unbelievable pass from Garland last night, to Podz. And then what a &^@#ing shot from Podkolzin. The guy can absolutely rip it. WOW.
  4. Dickinson I thought could be our third line centre. But if he's not winning draws, then maybe he's better suited to be our fourth line centre. lol. Was Dickinson better at face-offs when he was in Dallas? Was he playing last night? Cause if he was, it seemed like he was invisible on the ice
  5. Was scratched? That is the best decision Green has made to date.
  6. I think for me, I'd like to keep the 2022 first round pick, because there are some great defensive prospects in the first round even. Depending on where we land in the draft of course. Assuming that we can land a top ten pick. I really hope Jurmo turns out and becomes a Canuck full time. He can be a good defenseman in the NHL if all goes right. He's 19 years old, and he's doing, like you say, great in the Finnish league (which division is it? Tier 1?) I haven't kept up with the prospects, but love hearing if they're doing really great. What about Tony Utenon (sp?)
  7. I didn't get to see the game yesterday, but was Chiasson still on the powerplay units?
  8. I think it's a combination of bad coaching and players not executing. It's never just one thing.
  9. Yeah. Those two are the closest. I'd agree. But we have other defensive prospects in the pipeline. Jurmo the most recent pick comes to mind. How's he playing and developing by the way?
  10. Can see it now King: "Guy. Just stand still, and move the puck around. It'll work...trust me" Petey, Miller, and everyone else: "&^@# that. We're doing this our own way"
  11. No kidding eh. But I don't care if the players are from America, or Afghanistan. If they can play, let them play. Demko, Hughes, JT, Brock, Garland are all very good players, even if they are from America.
  12. probably until the next loss. They say, winning cures all.
  13. he's such a special player. Thank God that he's a Canuck. I can easily see him getting passed Phil Housley's 9. Could probably get to Robert Picard, but beating Bobby Orr at 20 will be difficult.
  14. If he could get more than 70 points this season after such a slow start, that would be amazing. Would help the team a ton if he could perform offensively consistently.
  15. Yeah. I'm just glad that Petey broke out tonight with 3 points. Looks a lot better than he has been. I never saw Petey as a Forsberg kind of player. Peter Forsberg was amazing. He had 116 points in his second season! WTF.
  16. Do you think he rebounds to becoming the player the fan base thinks he can be? 90 point player?
  17. I think he'll pick it up later this month, at the very least in December. If he doesn't pick things up by the new year, then it's trouble.
  18. Yep. He wants to win. The organization is going to win. But the team is only to go as far as Pettersson is going to take them.
  19. Haven't seen him take a lot of shots. But I'm more wondering about how his shot looks. If he's injured, then he wouldn't have any zip on his shot right? Does it? Maybe the kid doesn't want to be here....
  20. I'm just curious, but what do you expect Green to say? Like, how do you think he should say "It's my fault"? Do you think he should just say it outright like that?
  21. about damn time. I guess Green is desperate if he's putting Podkolzin on the power play unit. Why he didn't do this earlier is beyond me.
