Wouldn't be surprised if the wrist is still a problem for Petey. Does his shot look off? It's hard for me to believe that a player so good and deserving of a contract extension and a raise, suddenly just falls off the cliff. He's better than the 1 goal in 11 games he's demonstrated, especially with what we've seen in the past of him. I hope he breaks out tonight, but might be asking too much of Petey.

It's a good point. I think it's partly because of a few things. I think it's partly because the players aren't producing - the biggest culprit obviously is Pettersson. Miller has been producing, but his passing has been horrendous. So he's culprit as well. I think the other thing is that the players to me doesn't seem like they've completely bought into the pp system particularly. 1/20 is horrible. It's unprofessional to produce like that. Shame on the team and their players for putting up $&!# after $&!#. Paying customers won't be paying too much longer for $&!# like that.

ugh. coaching not to lose is a bad strategy. It never works. I hope Green realizes this and changes his approach, because if he doesn't and the team and the individual players continue to underperform, he's not going to remain as head coach of this team. Would Brad Shaw be any better? He's supposed to offer Green some new insight or systems or ideas. What's he doing?

3-1 Dallas. We've been having trouble scoring goals, and it doesn't look like Petey is coming around offensively. I think we'll lose tomorrow night, even though my heart badly wants the team to win. My prediction is that they'll lose tomorrow, but my heart wants them to win. We'll see.

You did not say that. But you said Benning should be fired, usually the AGM is promoted, isn't that John Weisbrod? He's be the natural interim GM. I agree that if Benning goes, Weisbrod should as well. who acts as interim GM for the time being? You can't go without a GM during the season. Which is why I think if anyone is going to get fired during this season, it'll be Green and his coaching staff who's relieved of their duties, and then Benning could be out at the end of the season when they can find a replacement.

placate the fanbase? and how did that go? management and ownership should have done what was right at the time and get the best returns for their aging vets, because that's what good management and ownership does. Understand and know when their assets (players) are declining, but getting the best offer and return for them. Benning didn't do that. And look where we are. God I hope he's not here for 24 years. I can't imagine being in a perpetual rebuild for about a quarter of a century. At least David Poile in Nashville drafted some really good defenseman in their organization over the years. How happy would this franchise be if we had someone like Seth Jones?? -

They're older than 25, but I think that's still on the right side of 30. Once they hit 30, then you need to be concerned. We need to draft much better than we have, and our development of prospects need to continue strong. Klimovich is promising, and he's young, but Cull and his coaching staff in Abby will have their work cut out for them. Fine balance between winning and developing. You don't want to develop young players in a losing environment. Need to get used to winning at all levels. But you're not wrong in that BB, Garland, Bo, Miller are a year older, and if they don't start contending soon, then those players will begin to enter into their late twenties. At that point, do some of those players, assuming they haven't been locked up long term yet, want to continue to remain Canucks, or will they pursue greener pastures elsewhere - aka Pettersson. -

People on Reddit seem to be saying that Myers has been playing well. I guess it depends on the person/fan. -

It feels like the team's struggles are a lot worse. But your right in that Poolman has been steady, Podkolzin seems to be playing with more confidence, OEL and Garland are playing great, etc, etc. But we are kinda struggling to score goals, or is it just me? Maybe my expectation is that this team should be scoring a bunch of goals with players like Pettersson, Boeser, Miller, Horvat, Höglander, Hughes, Garland - I mean, it's not out of the question to say that 5 of those players could be 20 goal scorers right? But your right. 1 of 20 on the power play is brutal. Does Green survive even this month? I think he survives until the new year. And then we'll see what happens after that. -
Playoffs?? I'll be happy if we could put together a winning streak of more than 1 game.
-
Unless we can get going really soon and get on a winning streak, and make up ground. I don't think winning the division has any real chance this year. Maybe next season. But I think with the way they've started, and how Edmonton and Calgary have been playing. Combined with the way we've been playing, I just don't see a realistic way of us catching up that much ground on the teams ahead of us.
-
I understand the frustration. I'm frustrated as hell watching this team. With all the talent that we've got. Can't seem to score goals, or it doesn't seem like we have any cohesion on the ice. But firing everyone isn't the answer. I think Green goes before Benning. And I'd honestly rather have Benning than Weisbrod. You want Weisbrod to be GM? No Thanks. I think we'll see where we are. The consolation is that if we don't make the playoffs, then we have an opportunity for a high draft pick. Maybe, just maybe even win the draft lottery finally right?

And then the power play fails and the pk continues to be, just bad. okay, yeah, that makes sense -
Yeah. I dunno. He certainly does look lost, but worse yet, is that has he checked out of Green and the coaching staff? I was listening to the post-game show on Sportsnet, and this one caller pointed out that when King was trying to draw up a play on the pp, Pettersson left the huddle shaking his head. And then Miller. What's going on here? We are now into November, it's a month almost into the new season, and Petey's what? Still behind? By the time he gets up to speed, it might be over for the team. I mean, we hope he's not that kind of player that gets paid, and then quits trying. If he is, then Thank God it's only three years. He can become someone else's problem.

That's how bad it's getting...

Yeah. Wow. Petey's gotta take note there. When is he going to score goal #2? LOL -

I think if by the end of November/early December, if the team hasn't gotten better, he might be relieved of his duties at that time. -

It's clear to me that the players haven't bought into King's pp systems. What else could explain the ineptitude of the powerplay and PK? Who's in charge of the PK? Don't tell me is Baumgartner. -

I'm not convinced that Benning will make the change soon. If he's going to make a move, it's probably going to be the 20-25 game mark. If at that point, the team continues to tank, he would be forced to make a move to see if they can turn the season around. But it might be too late by the 20-25 game mark. Edmonton probably can't catch, they're &^@#ing 9-1. McDavid looks &^@#ing unstoppable. I'm really concerned about Pettersson. He doesn't look like he wants to be here. Something is really wrong with the guy. Does he have confidence in the team/management/organization? Is he dealing with an injury?
