  1. Yeah. I wouldn't pursue Bear. He would probably cost too much in a trade with Carolina, and offer sheeting him wouldn't make sense either. Let him go. Pursue other players in the free agent pool. Draft well.
  2. I like that too. Can Slafkovsky come over and play right away? Or would he need 1-2 seasons overseas to simmer before coming over to the league?
  3. I'm not convinced that Kakko is an elite forward. At least he hasn't been able to show that he is, yet.
  4. Guess we should probably say good bye to Miller and Boeser then. Good thing I didn't get their jerseys.
  5. Well, we are entering soon into the most ridiculous time of the year. Free Agency. So who knows what will happen. Between the draft and free agency, there are some GM's who will do some really crazy things. We've seen this in Benning, but there are others.
  6. LOL. Ah, Rick. Well, he's doing his job. hahaha stirring up $&!#, "hearing" stuff. I don't have a problem with him. At least he gives us content to talk about this off-season. It's been boring as hell.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if Miller got a 7 year deal (the max he can get right?) from a team in the league. But one year at 99 points doesn't produce a career. And for most of his career, he hasn't been producing that, and now he's at this cross roads in his career where he's 30, and he's had a few good seasons. I can't imagine Miller at 36, producing 30-40 points for 9M. Can probably kiss a few of the younger players who will be needing new deals, good bye at that point.
  8. I can see Malkin going back to Russia. Motherland.
  9. Sounds a lot like the Benning and Weisbrod era of Canuck management. Clearly there was little to no trust in upper management and that trickled down to the rest of the organization. I feel a lot more like there's stability with Allvin and Rutherford and the new crew being assembled for the franchise.
  10. I wonder if that would be on the table for a deal. This management group is so tight lipped. We really don't hear much coming out of them. It's kind of refreshing. LOL
  11. If we could snag Roy from Vegas because of their cap problems, that would be amazing. 25 years old, RHD. He would definitely help. Hague to me is redundant. We have a plethora of LHD. Though with that being said, he would be quality upgrade over the LHD's that we currently have on the roster.
  12. I'm sure they can't. But they've certainly felt the pain of the loss to the Avs.
  13. Yeah, me too. Not enough quality assets in return for Miller. I still think the Rangers are a good trading partner, if they would actually give quality pieces coming back. If not, I see L.A. as being a team that has a lot of prospects as well that could help this team. NJ? Maybe? Columbus? Possibly? Well, it's officially silly season, so all the rumours out there are well, silly. When's the draft again? Two weeks out? The closer we get to that, the crazier the rumours will be.
  14. Yeah, that's a no from me for Letang. 5 year contract that brings him to 40 years old? No thanks. I don't need a crystal ball to tell you that will be an anchor contract for the team moving forward.
  15. Tallon was a weird hire. But he’s a pro scout for the Canucks right? It’ll be interesting what the current management group is doing. They’ve been very quiet, nothing coming out of any of the people on the inside. Dahliwal has to guess most of the time “what I am hearing…” Well, they made a few minor moves so far - traded away Motte for a 4th round pick. Traded for Dermott. Won the Kuzmenko sweepstakes (about time we won something, we lost just about every NCAA collegiate free agent that was “rumored” to sign with us, but then signs with another team). So I’m &^@#ing glad we won Andrei. Now, it’s time for the Miller domino to fall. Which way will it fall? My gut tells me that he’s gone by the draft. Bo will be signed before the summer ends to a long term contract (8 years) to a reasonable deal that will cost a lot less than whatever Miller is demanding.
  16. I would’ve signed him for 2.5M. That’s not a bad deal. No way, he deserves 4M. I mean, guess you could ask, doesn’t hurt to, and who knows, with Benning at the helm at the time, he probably would have given Tryamkin what he was asking for.
  17. I’d be fine with Schneider as part of a package return.
