  1. Tryamkin for 4M?? No way. What has he proven to deserve a contract like that?
  2. Man, this fan base has got to get over Tryamkin. He bolted back to Russia, made good money, good for him, but as far as being a Canuck. Let’s move on for crying out loud. So he’s got a picture of when he was last seen in the NHL, good for him.
  3. 1. I don't think it's a good idea either. 2. I think the offense will have to come by committee. The offence will suffer a little because of Miller's absence, but this is assuming that Miller can reproduce his 99 point season. If he doesn't, then it's kind of a moot point right? Offence by committee. 3. I think Forsberg will cost too much, to be honest. 4. I think holding onto Miller will be a distraction to the team honestly. And the longer the team holds onto him, the riskier it becomes, because the other teams in the league will know he's a free agent come the 2023 off season. And playoff teams aren't going to give us a large amount. Look at this past trade deadline. Nobody it seems was willing to give the Canucks what they were asking for. Best situation for the cap situation for the Canucks is to rid Miller for grade A prospects coming in. That way, we shed cap, and we get prospects and young players who can fill in spots on the team. So we build for the future, as well as gain immediate needs for the roster as well. That's a win win for the club. Either way, Miller and his camp wins. They get traded, and they'll either get paid by the team that acquires them, or they hit Free Agency and get paid.
  4. All aboard the hype train! I'm ready to be disappointed.
  5. Perhaps. But 4 1st round picks (depending on where the team is at in their cycle) would and could be disastrous. Imagine if the club wasn't very good, that's probably a top ten pick those four years. That's a lot to give up for one player. One player does not make a team. Draistl is a great player, don't get me wrong, but he alone won't make the Canucks contenders. Takes more than just one player. Look at McDavid. Been on the Oilers for all of his career (so far), and he hasn't won anything, and Edmonton's got the greatest player in the world, and they haven't won any championships. I look at other sports like the NBA, where Jordan was drafted by the Bulls. He couldn't win anything despite his offensive flair and heroics, until he was surrounded by a supporting cast, and then he started winning.
  6. I'm hopeful about Juulsen making the jump to the big club, and yet at the same time, I'm not convinced he's anymore than a depth piece for the organization. 25 is that age where he he might have something left to prove, but he's also on the verge of just being a journeyman in either league - basically a depth player in the event the club faces injuries.
  7. Yeah. Seems like he's been in the Canucks' system forever. I thought by now he would've broken through, but at this stage, looks like he's a depth player for the organization.
  8. Forsberg is going to cost 8-9M over long term. He's what? 28? So I guess if you sign him to a 7 year deal, by the end of it, he's 35. Does he still produce at a high level at that age? What would be the difference than with Miller? Why not just keep him at that point?
  9. I also get the sense that management is looking to get the best deal for Miller. negotiations have been quiet, and stale of any progress or positive movement, and Miller's been silent himself since the season ended, and has always been kind of coy when it came to wanting to be here. Can't wait until the draft, because I feel and get the sense that's where the movements are going to come. It's going to be a busy day for Allvin and Rutherford.
  10. seems to always happen to us. the one player we need goes after us, and we don't pick him. good news is that he can be had from Vegas, if the right deal is there. I'm not sure what Vegas' asking price is for Hague.
  11. Probably not. 4 years without a 1st rounder is crazy.
  12. NJ or Buffalo ain’t making an offer sheet for Brock. Florida or Carolina? I mean, I guess it’s possible. I still don’t see them offer sheeting. I think they try to make a trade work before an offer sheet is presented and offered to Brock’s camp.
  13. I can see Forsberg signing with Colorado in an attempt to win a championship… Can’t imagine where the Canucks would be had they made prudent moves under Benning’s “leadership” here.
  14. And so what? they lost tonight to Colorado… So much for all that “toughness”….
  15. I just don't see a fit with the Rangers to be honest. And that's fine. We can secure a better package elsewhere. Off-season has officially begun after Colorado's Cup win. Their third Cup in their franchise. And here we are still waiting for our first in 50 years.
  16. I figure as much as well. I don't think it's likely that he produces 99 points again in his career again. I could be wrong of course! But at 30 years old, I think he's looking to cash in, and he probably knows that it's not going to be with the Canucks of all teams. Maybe under previous management (Benning) he could have had what he's looking for. But the gut sense that he prefers to play back in America - I just cannot shake. And it's not some facts, or anything he's said or done. It's just a sense that I have about him. Seems to be one of those kinds of players that prefer to play in a US market, just play back home, than play in, say, a foreign country like Canada. Of course money talks. If he's paid to play here (and he's paid hansdomely), then of course he'll play here. But given the choice, I get the sense that he prefers to go back to the States and make his dough there.
  17. I'm still a little skeptical as to whether Miller can do what he did last season again, or whether he's trying to cash in on a season he knows likely won't happen again.
  18. Yep. That’s pretty much the players on the roster that needs to be build around at this point.
  19. Sucks that they didn’t trade well, or drafted exceptionally well either.
  20. Moving Pearson and Dickinson barely moves the needle. This team needs a major move. Trading Miller or Brock would be a major shake up to the core and the team moving forward.
