  1. No kidding. He signed that low of a deal just to remain with the Leafs? Wish we had those kinds of players that would sign for less to win.
  2. Something we should have done from the start when Benning arrived.
  3. I think a late pick would do it for the Blues. He’s young enough where he could still break out, but he’s also running out of time at the same time.
  4. I mean, someone out of that group of defensive prospects has to emerge to become a legitimate NHL defenseman right? Woo is still young, but he’s got to start making some strides defensively. Jurmo was always a project. Haven’t heard much about Gabrielsson, or Myenberg. Is Truscott eligible for the AHL next season?
  5. Yea, that’s true. But I’d like to believe that Aiden’s got good character and if he says that he’s going to sign, he’ll sign. I’ve never seen a prospect that was drafted in such later rounds have this much of a following. McDonough is a seventh round, 195th overall. He was a late bet to even make the NHL, let alone have an impact if he got there. He’s got a good shot, but let’s not pretend like this kid is going to be the second coming of Stamkos. His skating is still very much a concern. How is he going to keep up with the rest of the league if he’s so slow? Has that part of his game gotten better? How much better? I see him as maybe a middle six player that can possibly contribute. Could he be a definite fourth line guy? Very likely, if his skating isn’t an issue anymore? I mean, if he’s another Mark Stone….well, then that’s totally different. Then we should be talking about him this much…
  6. Klim Kostin not looking that great right now, at 23 years old, hasn’t been producing much at the NHL level when he’s been given a chance. Could be a bust.
  7. Yeah, Benning’s decisions continue to haunt this franchise even after he’s been fired. Allvin and Rutherford’s mess to sort through and figure things out.
  8. LOL. Thankfully I did not miss much there. I mean, I guess with Kuzmenko, he’s a free asset right? You take enough gambles, eventually one has to pan out for us. Is Kuzmenko going to be the next Panarin? Probably not. But if he can produce 50-55 points, that’s good for top six numbers. And we need more of those kinds of players, especially since I think the Canucks are going to lose Miller this off-season sooner rather than later.
  9. Let’s see what kind of a mark they’re going to make this off-season. Canuck news can’t come soon enough.
  10. Yeah. I’m not going to get my hopes up for Kuzmenko either. But let’s see what this current management can do to sell the team.
  11. Which team is that? Toronto? Montréal? It’s not Ottawa….
  12. I expect Miller to be moved as well. Does not sound promising that he comes back next season with a brand new contract.
  13. I don’t really like Vilardi, though. He doesn’t seem to have speed, and that’s a characteristic that Rutherford has stated he wanted more of, not less. I like Faber, Lemieux and 1st rounder, but we probably need another piece coming back especially if Miller is being dealt to a divisional rival. All those pieces in my books need to be good pieces, and Vilardi is not a good piece. Sorry.
  14. This upcoming season is a critical one for Miller. If he goes into the season with a contract extension, and gets injured and doesn't produce as well as he did this past season, then he's not going to get what he thought he could get after a 99 point season. If he signs an extension, then he's working a deal based off of his most successful season, and he has leverage. It's not just the Canucks that should be worried, Miller too has reasons to be worried as well. The game of hockey is a physical sport, there is never any certainty. He's one injury away from not being able to produce as well as he did, and not get max on a deal he was hoping to get after a near 100 point season.
  15. It’s probably the reality that Kuzmenko is going to the Oilers. Which is why I want them to lose to the Flames. Maybe that changes Andrei’s mind.
  16. I think that OEL can quarterback the second unit PP. He’s still a solid defenseman, even though he’s getting paid quite a large amount for someone who doesn’t produce from the backend anymore.
  17. Would love it if we could land Grans, or Faber from the Kings. I like Clarke, but there are reports out there about his defensive play. Grans for Garland and a pick?
  18. Might be more affordable to be able to retain right?
  19. yeah, that's curious to me now that you've mentioned it. Like, what if he has a "down" year next season? Would he get less? Ideally he becomes a free agent this off-season, to cash in on his massive year. But what if, next season he goes from 99 points down to 70-75? I'm not sure he'll be getting the big payout he was looking for.
