[Discussion] No Boudreau? Potential Head Coaches 2022/2023

Yeah. I wanted Gallant as well, but too late. Rangers picked him up. What about Lane Lambert? His name has been floating around for a while. Why do you feel like Maurice wouldn't be a good fit for the team? I know we've had Torts and Keenan, but none of those guys had sexual assault attached to their name. I personally don't want coach Q here. Sorry. And I'm not certain that his sexual assault issues would be ignored simply because he won the cup here. I think there would be mix reaction honestly from the fan base and media. I want my team to win the Cup more than anything else. But Quenneville being the head coach here winning the cup with the whole sexual assault - ugh, not sure that'll sit well with some. It would be split down the middle, me thinks. -

I like the idea of Gronberg for Abby. Could be a solid coach for the farm team. What about Scott Walker? He's the assistant for Bruce right now isn't he? If Bruce is back, Maurice would be out of the question. Does he even want to come back to coach in the NHL again? -

How many more years do you think Bruce has if the organization decided to retain him? Another 2 year deal? 4 years? I can't really see management doling out 4 years to Bruce. 2 years I can see, maybe 3? Why do you think Maurice would be a good fit for the Canucks here? -

I like Paul Maurice as well. I think he would be a good fit here. He's not "old", but he isn't young either. Decent amount of experience. Only concern would be that Winnipeg never really got far in the postseason under his guidance. -

What kind of player could he be for the Canucks? Is he an offensive kind of guy? Strong two-way player? So not offensively explosive, but is very good defensively? -

This has always been a no brainer for me. You take the younger goalie, who already showed great promise to be at the very least a starting goaltender in the NHL. Demko is not just a starter, he’s a star in his position. If I had to do that Markström and Demko situation all over again. I take Demko 10/10 times. I personally think he’s going to be better than Markström. He’s not this season, but again, he’s also much younger. I think he’ll get there. Especially if JR and Allvin can build a defense around him, and find a younger version of Tanev. -

Eichel is overrated. Great talent, attitude isn’t so great. -

I didn’t get to see the game tonight, but yeah, Vegas has a stack team when they’re healthy and also if they can solve their cap issues. First of all, I don’t think the team will make the playoffs, though I’d love to be proven wrong in that regard. Second, even if they did make it to the postseason, I don’t think they go far. But they’d get valuable playoff experiences if they make it in, and just how difficult the games at that level at that time of the year are. It’ll be good for the future of the team moving forward. The season is coming to an end fairly soon in terms of games remaining. I’m really just looking forward to the off-season, because I think there’s going to be so much movement with players on this team, that we won’t even recognize the team next season. -

No complaints from me. They won. Could it have been better if they had won in regulation? Yes, of course. But the alternative is that they either lost in regulation, or in OT. I want my team to win. And they won tonight, so I’m happy. Plus, they’re still in the thick of the playoff race. Nothing is determined….yet, anyways. -
I like Matthew Boldy in Minny. I wish we could have selected and chosen him. But that would mean we wouldn’t have Podkolzin. But Boldy has 29 points in 36 games, while Podkolzin has 19 points in 70 games. I think Podkolzin will be a decent player, he’s not going to be an offensive juggernaut, though.

Boeser worth a 3rd? That’s insane, whoever thinks that is bananas. -

so Petey, Hughes and Demko will be essentially in their prime years of their career, and here we are, nowhere close to being a contender. Yeah, current management has a lot to say to these guys on the roster. Me thinks there’s going to be a huge turnover this off-season. -

hah. I expect Podkolzin and Hoglander to improve their games, while I don't expect the same of Chiasson. -

Yeah. Podkolzin going to have a decent NHL career, the same can’t be said for Jake. Is he even playing professional hockey anymore? -

Chiasson having a good run of goals, but let’s all be real here, the guy is a career journeyman. He’s good depth when he can provide it. That’s all there is to his game.
