  1. Jaco Pastorius of Weather Report
  2. Cry me a river. If it's best for an unpaid player's development then it should be allowed. In the case of Virtanen, what's to be gained from another year with the Hitman? IMO, not much as he should be playing against men somewhere else.
  3. I said it before and I'll say it again. Jake's development needs are to be playing against men, not boys. Jr's other than world's tourney have nothing to offer Virtanen development wise.
  4. I tend to agree with line of thought of others, what's left for him with in Jr.? Like Bo, he's not likely to develop any farther in Jr. and possibly digress (except the World Jrs.). Is our 4th line so powerful that we can't make room for Jake, I think not!
  5. Weird, somebody got some splaining to do.
  6. short term only please, then we trade for a 1st rounder at the trade deadline
  7. He's 20 years old and has a contract for 2 more years in KHL so we won't see him till he's 22. He is at draft and was interviewed on team 1040 with help from the Canuck's Russian scout as translator. Bure was a favorite player and he's familiar with the Canucks.
  8. He's under contract for 2 more years in the KHL. So he's 20 years old and we won't seem him till he's 22.
  9. I'd rather take our chances on #6 than give up Horvat or Shinkaruk to get first overall. I'm still hopeful returns in a Kesler trade could help us move up to #1.
  10. I'm starting to believe again! Trevor always had class, Benning is humble and that shows class, I always thought Gilman had class and now Desjardins who treats his players with class. Canucks organization is now considered classy and I'm more proud of the Canucks again! BTW, Dreger is a Nonis puppet still trying to give Vancouver the gears.
  11. Just listening to the Team 1040 and... Scott Rintoul just reported from his trusted inside source (he wouldn't name the source) that Edler won't waive.
  12. Yeah, I don't see a retraction either. Dreger's last 2 tweets were... @DarrenDreger: Mentioned Trotz as the obvious top candidate for Canucks coaching job following Benning hire. Willie Desjardins is a strong option as well. @DarrenDreger: The Canucks have not yet asked the Dallas Stars for permission to speak with Desjardins, but expectation is they will. Desjardins is a strong option as well.
  13. Torts always seemed to me the opposite of what MG was selling as his vision for the team (Detroit model)... Mike Gillis wanted to hire Torts? I'm not buying that! BTW, Why are the CDC's whipping boys all playing for Team CANADA?
  14. I hope this (Benning signing) works out, the sooner the better for us. I hear Trots is interested as well. Good news if Trevor can get both signed on!
  15. Linden could work as a GM if... we retained Gillman, Henning and perhaps rehire Pat Quinn as a special consultant.
  16. I certainly hope that Tort's is next! We'll soon see what the Aqualini's plan but be afraid, very afraId. It's a sad day for the Canucks organization. For all Gillis' shortfalls he did more good than bad and that can't be said of Torts.
  17. Good for Gillis, just what I wanted to hear. He told the owners, coaches, players that it's my way or the highway. I hate the 6 goalie system Torts plays and IMO that has been the biggest part our downfall this season. I totally believe we need to get back to being a puck possesion team and play exciting hockey.
  18. Toast Torts... boring style of hockey. Bring back a puck possesion style please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. LOL, I called this 2 days ago. I knew Florida wanted Lu back... good Kharma.
  20. Penguins 1st pick is as a good as an early 2nd round pick... no thanks. Not near enough so keep unhappy Kesler to be buds with unhappy Lu.
  21. As per TSN... Eight months after Cory Schneider was traded away, goaltender Roberto Luongo finds himself in another awkward situation with the Vancouver Canucks. Luongo will not get the start when the Canucks host the Ottawa Senators in the Heritage Classic at BC Place Stadium on Sunday. "I don't want to start going through this whole thing again," said Luongo, who has yet to start for the Canucks since returning from the Olympics. "I've always wanted to play in an outdoor game so I was excited when I saw that we got one this year. I was looking forward to it." "I believe Roberto Luongo feels this is somewhat of a slap in the face," said TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger. "Almost a year ago, he fought hard to get out of the Canucks organization and hoped for the same in the summer and that didn't materialize. You have to think this is going to amplify the hard feelings that may continue to exist between Luongo and the coaching staff and by extension, the management of the Canucks." Eddie Lack, who has started both Canucks' games since the Olympic break, has allowed just one goal in a shutout win over the St. Louis Blues and a shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild. "You also have to look at it from the prespective of head coach John Tortorella," added Dreger. "He doesn't care about the spectacle of the Heritage Classic, he cares about the two points on the line. Eddie Lack has been lights out good for the Canucks in the past couple of games. This is not a popular decision and I predict that this going to add to why this relationship between the player and the organization won't end well."
  22. I remember back last summer someone saying Florida could use Lu back to help sell tickets. Lu is remembered very fondly by their fan base. I also think that the Canucks are trying to give Lu what he truly wants and that's to go back to Florida. I hope this is the case as it works for everybody (except a good amount of the CDC where you just can't win no matter.).
  23. Needs to be a huge overpayment for these guys especially Kesler who really is an untouchable.
