Some of these guys would certainly help this team with the scoring issues, dollar value is what the team would like to pay them and could probably do so based on cap space. Subban at $2M Pavelski at $2M Forsberg at $6M ( not sure how to fit him in the cap structure) Domi at $3M Getzlaf league minimum Rodrigues at $2M Maroon at league minimum

There are a number of dubious contracts out there... Price Montreal Seth Jones Chicago Kevin Hayes Flyers Binnington St Louis Blake Coleman Calgary Erik Karlsson San Jose OEL's isnt great but its not the second worst...I fully agree with you that Skinners contract is horrific, there is nothing bout that contract that is palatable!!!! Its a full NMC contract at $9M for a further 5 years after this year , he is a lifetime -138 (plus /minus) , scored 40 goals in a season just once and has never been a point a game player in a season. How he got that contract absolutely amazes me.

That whole Toffoli deal was a roller coster type ride, I was gutted when the deal went down as I didnt think it was a good time and I didnt care much for Toffoli as a player but when he started banging goals in and had such a great transition into the squad I was as high as a kite, then with the non re signing it was like I had bungy jumped and the cord broke, we lost prospects and picks for literally nothing. Tough ride all up! Markstroms loss was palatable as Demko is the future and Tanev although its painful to see him perform well in a flames jersey he isnt the solution to this teams problems. We need speed and attacking pressure along with more size/grit thats not Tanev.

You can probably add Seider to that list of talent and managers with a good eye -
(Discussion) Horvat vs Miller

A little off topic but I am very intrigued to see what happens in Arizona with their "scorched earth" policy. I want to see how that pans out over the next few years. Maybe its an avenue for the Canucks because the last 10 years in Vancouver has been nothing short of painful! I can't go through another 10 year slow rebuild that we are all currently endurring to see ourselves right back where we started...capped out and not in the hunt for the playoffs. I wonder how Arizona is going to build a team from scratch... will it work? How long will it take for them to be competetive? Is this something the Canucks would consider? Would the fans be able to stomach the two years it would take to completely dismantle the team and burn it all to the ground...maybe they could burn the Canucks curse and the club could rise from the ashes like a Pheonix -

Playing himself into the back up role for the Canucks next year and at a good bargain price too! Just what the Canucks need. Maybe a little too early to give him the role but if he continues to play well in Abby maybe he will earn the role. Would be an absolute bonus if the Canucks could flip Halak for a pick and avoid the performance bonus -

It was there...the Canucks just cannot generate any offense. Its been that way all year. The guys that have carried the team in scoring are all out! Until this team learns to finish its going to be more nights of sadness for us all. The team is playing well and are fun to watch but scoring is a huge issue. They just dont have anyone in the D corps who score frequently (Q Hughes is unbelievable in assists but does generate a lot of his own goals unfortunately) so there is zero issue for the opposition defense to contend with which makes it so much harder for the forwards to score. -
This isnt on De Pietro or the defense. Its the same issue we have had all year...a complete inability to score. Theyve had 31 shots for 1 goal. Its the same story every game...you have to hit the back of the net to create pressure on the opposition. You just cant waste opportunity after opportunity, the good team make you pay. Until the goal scoring problem gets fixed this team will continue to do it tough in games. As far as the positives are concerned I am absolutely loving the committment and team spirit. Its so easy to cheer and support these guys because the effort is there.

Although we conceded 4 goals, its the same issue we have had all year, just cant find the back of the net. Whenever you are chasing the game its so hard to apply pressure. The top lines need to start scoring to give this team any chance in the run to the playoffs. You CANNOT be competitive when you are in the bottom 10 teams in scoring!!! It just looks clunky in attack. Dont get me wrong I loved the compete level of todays game and the team is fun to watch again but they really need to start scoring in bunches!

Same problem for the Canucks thats plagued them all season, cannot hit the back of the net. Lots of shots but the top line just cant get enough (today...any) past the goalie. The first 2 goals for Florida were very unfortunate. That tip on the 2nd goal moved about 3 feet. Quite unlucky but the team needs to find a way to generate more goals.
