Teams you cheer for other than us
canuckpuckluck1 replied to Alflives's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Canucks only for me. I will often watch other games but I only hope for the team that will improve the Canucks standing the most to get the desired result. If the game doesnt effect the Canucks I dont care who wins I just want to see good hockey, unless its the Oilers, Leafs , Flyers and Ducks ( I straight up dont like those teams and wish for them to continuously lose!) Edit I forgot to add Vegas...that team is rotten, in fact the whole set up for that franchise stunk!!!! After the grind that the Canucks went through when they joined the league compared to the joy ride for Vegas makes me bitter beyond belief!!! -
CDC Celebrity Dead Pool 2022. Pick 20 famous people you think might die in 2022. Deaths must be confirmed by a web link. In case of a tie, the winner will be the one with the lowest collective ages (of death). Do not edit your submission (beyond it's original submission date) or it will be disqualified. Make your submissions anytime from today through 2022. Deaths before your submission date will not count. Note This is a Celebrity Dead Pool. You cannot simply select people just because they are old. They must be famous for something other then being old. People up for state sponsored execution (death row) and hostages are excluded. Important note - You may not kill anyone on your list or your entry will be disqualified. If you played the game in the last 2 years you get a heads up for this year's game. @Bill Sikes @gurn @goalie13 @McIlhargey the Lesser @canuckpuckluck15 @Salacious Crumb @smithers joe @Cerridwen @Shift-4 @CowBoyCoyote @73 Percent @Darkstar @falcon45ca @BoKnows @Alain Vigneault @HerrDrFunk @AriGold2.0 @Elias Pettersson @nukin_futz @Junkyard Dog @Kryten @Maginator @4petesake @Ilunga @nucklehead

CDC Celebrity Dead Pool 2021 (win prizes)

@nuckin_futz are we going around again next year? -
Apart from 2 bad shifts I thought he played quite well. Was noticeable with his passing and laid a few good hits. Very underdone as a prospect be there is plenty of tools to work with. Hopefully the coaching team can build a full-time NHLer out of him. Lord knows the team needs more quality defense.

Its great to get a goal and be in front but that period looked like hard work. The passing was all over place. I hope they settle down again in the third and get back to the hockey that was on display over the last 5 games. I think that is the weakest period they have played in the last 6 games. I suppose they all cant be gems... Winning is good though!!!!

I am not concerned if we win lose or draw I just want to see 2 more periods with that effort. The team is using their feet, back checking hard against a very quick team. Its great to watch. Absolute night and day in comparison to what was dished up under Green. I love watching this team again. Yes winning is awesome but I just wanted to see good hockey...which is what my team is providing. VERY NICE!!!!!

Francesco Aquilini To meet with Jim Benning today

Well that’s it for me watching games live. I am not sitting through another two and a half hours of this on ice product. if management can’t see it’s broken and needs a replacement then I’m done. I will watch highlights and contribute in here but I just cannot continue to put myself through the process of watching the same thing being repeated hoping for a better result. 8 years is too much. today was a perfect opportunity to make a change …. -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Anaheim Ducks | Nov. 14, 2021

Its been a rough 8 years and I was so very excited about this year. The roster looked good, the arena's are full again, the new faces looked like we would finally see some improved performances. How wrong I was! If anything the on ice product is at an all time low for the last 8 years...seems impossible but I truly think it is! Ive now sat through every preseason game and all 16 regular season games. I'm completely disillusioned. I love watching my team but I just cant do it whilst the status quo remains the same. Unless or until changes are made I will not sit through another 2 and a half hours of this. I will follow with intent the actions of the organisation over the coming days.... -

[Hypothetical] Who should replace Travis Green?
canuckpuckluck1 replied to Ilya Mikheyev's topic in Canucks Talk
A big fat no to Shaw or Cull...no more coaches without a ton of experience. Get FA to really open the wallet and get a coach. It may not happen this year but pay big bucks to get an experienced coach. Pay top dollar and poach someone who only accepts winning! -
Something in the organisation is wrong. The Kings are on a 7 game win streak, with a roster that on paper isnt as strong as the Canucks but they have a winning attitude which becomes infectious. The Canucks are so beat down at the moment, you can see it on the ice, passes are slow/behind/soft or completely missing. Its all about timing and the whole team is completely out of sync. Good teams flow...the Canucks seem to be a few seconds off and it throws everything out. On paper the roster for the Canucks isnt bad, but they just cant seem to get it together. Much like the team and many of the fans I am so disillusioned with the on ice product. I will always support my team but I am finding it so hard to deal with the disappointment. Its been 8 years of failure but more distressing is the on ice product. Win or lose the hockey is so uninspiring. Even in the bubble playoffs the team got results but the hockey wasn't fun to watch ( Markstrom and Demko stood on their heads) but it wasn't creative hockey. Horvat was a beast but he was a bit of a lone ranger. Maybe I am a bit spoiled by the Sedins and their craft, but i watched what Colorado dished out today (without McKinnon) or the Oilers this year, Tampa for the last 2 years, Carolina, or even Boston and see something fun to watch, 8 years is too long to wait for some enjoyment again. So far this year we have sat through 35 hours of some of the most insipid performances Ive witnessed. Its just painful. Sorry for the rant. I just wanted to express myself. I will be back watching again tomorrow but I would love to see something more from MY TEAM!!!
