  1. Nope. Thanks for digging up those draft examples, and providing an objective viewpoint. We need more posts like that.
  2. Yeah, that made no sense. As has been mentioned, fans who didn’t want to lose Bo go mostly hate the trade. It’s emotions over logic for the most part, which is understandable.
  3. Holtz’s ELC lines up with Brock’s contract, so he could effectively replace Brock in the top 9 for $3M+ (retention plus ELC). We could also take Tatar back (UFA 2023, $4.5M) to drive the price up.
  4. We definitely need RHD. After reading their prospect scouting reports, I didn’t see anyone that looked like a stylistic match for Hughes (eg. shutdown, physical RHD)
  5. Are you willing to make a trade proposal you think is realistic? One that you’d be happy with as a Canucks fan, and makes sense for the other team? @wai_lai416 ?
  6. Friedman suggesting Buffalo, LA, Pitts, and maybe Columbus
  7. I see why you like him https://sportsforecaster.com/nhl/p/1018219/Dawson_Mercer
  8. Anyone can flame someone else’s proposal. You seem pretty knowledgeable…why don’t you draft one for one of the remaining players rumoured to be traded?
  9. I’m paying more attention to your proposals after you almost nailed the Bo trade last Thursday.
  10. time for some reverse checking drills then…
  11. With NJ reportedly interested in Boeser, and (all teams) reportedly seeking retention, this trade aims to speed up our retool around Petey and Hughes, while providing cap space after this year to address our defence. To NJ: Boeser ($1.55M retained), Lekkerimaki To Van: Tatar (2023 UFA, $4.5M), Holtz (2025 RFA, ELC), 2024 2nd Canucks trade Boeser and a RW prospect that’s 2-3 years away for a 21 y/o RW who’s near ready now, whose ELC offsets the salary retention for Brock for the next two years. Also recoup a 2nd for retaining salary and taking Tatar. Devils upgrade their wing with Boeser at a reasonable $5M per year, and replace Holtz with a comparable prospect that’s 2-3 years away, staggering ELCs with Zetterlund at RW. Tatar goes to even the cap, leaving them with over $2M space to make further moves for their playoff run. We offload our most expensive, underperforming winger, and effectively replace him on our roster for $2.5M (ELC + retention). What do you think?
  12. Apparently the Devils and Caps are interested https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2023/01/3-vancouver-canucks-expected-to-be.html
  13. Good quick read on defensemen available if we get the Isles pick this year https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/canucks-could-target-defence-draft-pick Even if Sandin-Pelikka is taken, seems like Reinbacher and Dragicevic are good fits for us.
  14. Yep, I like the return and he timing. We could have gotten an older player back (eg. Bailey) without reclamation potential
  15. Yep. As has been suggested, give him great line mates and boost his vale. He has speed and skill.
