We definitely need RHD. After reading their prospect scouting reports, I didn’t see anyone that looked like a stylistic match for Hughes (eg. shutdown, physical RHD)

Judgement Day/ Trade deadline Day [PROPOSAL]
Ted Lasso replied to PunjabiCanucks's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Are you willing to make a trade proposal you think is realistic? One that you’d be happy with as a Canucks fan, and makes sense for the other team? @wai_lai416 ? -

Judgement Day/ Trade deadline Day [PROPOSAL]
Ted Lasso replied to PunjabiCanucks's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Anyone can flame someone else’s proposal. You seem pretty knowledgeable…why don’t you draft one for one of the remaining players rumoured to be traded? -
I’m paying more attention to your proposals after you almost nailed the Bo trade last Thursday.

With NJ reportedly interested in Boeser, and (all teams) reportedly seeking retention, this trade aims to speed up our retool around Petey and Hughes, while providing cap space after this year to address our defence. To NJ: Boeser ($1.55M retained), Lekkerimaki To Van: Tatar (2023 UFA, $4.5M), Holtz (2025 RFA, ELC), 2024 2nd Canucks trade Boeser and a RW prospect that’s 2-3 years away for a 21 y/o RW who’s near ready now, whose ELC offsets the salary retention for Brock for the next two years. Also recoup a 2nd for retaining salary and taking Tatar. Devils upgrade their wing with Boeser at a reasonable $5M per year, and replace Holtz with a comparable prospect that’s 2-3 years away, staggering ELCs with Zetterlund at RW. Tatar goes to even the cap, leaving them with over $2M space to make further moves for their playoff run. We offload our most expensive, underperforming winger, and effectively replace him on our roster for $2.5M (ELC + retention). What do you think?
