  1. OEL is as much the problem as our dead cap is…about $2M of wasted cap. Let’s see how he plays after learning the next coach’s system. back to Horvat… 2.5 months is a long time for negotiations to advance. And if the Flames offer us Andersson for Boeser, we reply “Yes, thank you. Please also take our DJ free of charge.”
  2. Predictions: By March, some combination of Boeser, Garland and/or Miller will be traded, then they’ll make Horvat another offer. In the meantime all of us long suffering fans will continue to click all the bait, and make all the trade proposals. @Alflives will type ‘suckeroo’ 4,283 more times, and @EddieVedder will hate on Boeser for a full season after he’s traded
  3. I like McGinn as a means to improve defense from the forward group.
  4. Agreed, it’s become the most predictable part of a fairly predictable power play. I expect to see more of them picked off.
  5. I don’t know. With Voracek out, Columbus seems like an ideal trade partner for Miller. I could see Rutherford justifying a Miller trade to resign Bo, while acquiring some defence at the same time. It checks so many boxes, including “trading some players they didn’t want to.”
  6. Yeah, it’s a lot of offence to make up for in the short term (a third of our top 6), even if the return improves our defence.
  7. Losing both for assets >>>>>>>>>> losing either one of them for nothing. I’ll be fine if we trade both for a return that sets up our future
  8. This is just posturing and click bait. Canucks will trade another forward before the deadline, which will allow for yet another ‘best offer.’ In the meantime, PA gets an accurate estimate on Horvat’s trade value.
  9. Interesting - cheers. Their 80 GF this year are second last in the East behind Philly. Wonder if they’d prioritize his ppg offence over his sometimes pouty attitude.
  10. This might work well with @Odjick 4 Premier’s proposal sending Brock to Nashville for Fabbro & Sissions. That would give us enough RHD options to bench Myers, plus add a veteran 3C who’s strong on FO and PK.
  11. Could Sissions play the veteran 3C role? That would be a nice add if we trade one of Horvat or Miller
  12. To Columbus: JT Miller To Vancouver: Andrew Peeke, Corson Ceulemans, 2023 2nd, 2023 3rd (Calgary) Blue Jackets use LTIR to replace Voracek with a local PPG winger with potential to play center. Their top prospects (Johnson, Jiricek) and high 1st pick remain intact. Canucks get a big, 24 yo defensive D locked up at $2.75M for 3 more years, a near NHL ready RHD, a high 2nd in a deep draft, and mid round 3rd from a rival. Peeke’s current salary ($785k) also creates $4M+ in space to use in trades this year. This can be used to take on expiring contracts to increase any returns at the deadline. Give Miller’s ‘A’ to Petey, and Myers’ ‘A’ to Schenn. Keep Schenn through the deadline to protect our younger stars, and prioritize some truculence for our 3rd line in the off-season.
  13. Time for new assistant coaches, new DJ, back to John & John, & Marie Tran for the anthem
  14. Boeser has been skating faster and increasing his effort since the news dropped about getting his agent involved in possible trades. I’m happy to see him get top 6 deployment so he can regain his form, or find new ways to score (he mentioned working on tips). Let’s help him get on pace for his 30, then revisit possible trades.
  15. Middle pairing D projection is very promising. Cheers
  16. There’s a rumour that Forbert has overtaken Carlo as their top shutdown defenseman, and they may be open to trading him if a team values him highly enough. If Bo doesn’t want to resign, Carlo is an ideal return for him.
