  1. Stenlund looks interesting. Big right shot center with 53% faceoffs, coming from a club with good center depth https://sportsforecaster.com/nhl/p/21184/Kevin_Stenlund
  2. He’s probably graduated from AHL duty. Hope he can land a one way deal somewhere
  3. They re-signed the right guys today, IMHO. still hopeful for Burroughs depending on how this next week goes…
  4. Just looked into that again, and read HC handed over all info and findings to London Police who continue to investigate, but no charges have been made. It bothers me a bit that McLeod is one of a few who waited a long time to give a statement, and didn’t deny involvement.
  5. He was part of the Hockey Canada Investigation. Last I read was the investigation is complete, and sanctions were forthcoming… but players involved weren’t identified. Unsure how that potentially impacts his playing career…
  6. Not sure if SJS would do it, but that would be a great hybrid hockey trade / cap dump
  7. So they have 22 players, and ~ $2.6M cap space counting Lehners LTIR
  8. IMHO, trading JTM for any less of a player at 2C shows a lack of urgency to capitalize on the prime years of Quinn & Petey.
  9. how was it a panic buyout? They explored other options in the off-season, and decided against selling useful players + futures for cap space. seems like the opposite of panic to me Through the next 4 years of Pete & Huggy’s prime no less…
  10. Of course, I meant relative to other owners…with the Canucks on one end of the spectrum, and the Coyotes on the other.
  11. All the right moves here. Hoping to see Höglander deployed by RT in a forechecking/scoring/pest role this year Hirose looked great in his NHL debut…hope he’s bulking up a bit this off-season Keeping Kravtzov’s rights seems like a low risk, high reward
  12. Yeah, we don’t have the cap to address all of our needs this offseason, so we’ll need affordable short-term alternatives. Juulsen is young enough to have a little upside yet, and has demonstrated chemistry with Hughes.
  13. Don’t think this signing, in any way, puts chips down for Hughes’ partner. At most, it provides one, affordable backup option.
  14. Closer to playing PDG in the top 6 as a complimentary player. Oh, wait…
  15. moneyball implies we don’t have the cap space to afford a better option.
  16. This is a very low risk, mid reward signing. Best case, he earns a roster spot, and brings the stylistic compliment our d core needs, at league minimum salary.
  17. If he’s claimed off waivers, it means we have solved our RD depth, and he’s getting an NHL job, so win/win.
  18. I like him as a moneyball Hughes partner, and even better as a depth option. After some serious injuries early in his career, he could still have upside as he enters his prime.
