  1. Yeah, the defensive structure hasn’t slowed our offence too much. If they kept Boudreau long enough to pad Horvat’s stats to optimize the trade return, then that’s some 4D chess. Timing fits… The trade worked out very well. Bo got paid, we got a solid return, and used it to address our 2 biggest positional needs C and RD. We also kept the right 2C - PPG, 157 hits, and sticks up for his team.
  2. @Sophomore Jinx nailed it above. I think he knew his contract demands wouldn’t be met, so he stopped giving AF about the team game.
  3. He commented later that he regretted doing nothing, because he was sure it would be a penalty, given it was probably the hardest punch he’s seen thrown after a whistle. Why would that stop him from getting in Sergachev’s face, and giving him a shove?
  4. The timeline fits. It also explains playing less physically (he has half the hits he did in 21/22 in the same number of games). He knew he wasn’t sticking around, so he stopped investing in the team, and focused on his next contract. That included watching opponents cheap shot his teammates, which is inexcusable. Not trying to shit on Bo. He was a good Captain through some tough years. Class act, good in the community, excellent on draws, clutch in OT, good in the playoffs, and a great 2C. Before this season, I could see him as ‘heart and soul.’ It seems like he gave up on the team when he didn’t get paid like a 1C, and that (unfortunately) impacts how he will be remembered as a Canuck. Feel bad for the die hard Bo fans who are still sticking up for a player that stopped sticking up for his team.
  5. He was awesome. And when he scored, he didn’t really celebrate or even break a smile. He’s unsatisfied if the team isn’t winning. That’s a team-first leader.
  6. Bo has 48 hits this year. Remember when Tocchet arrived and called our team soft? That was our leader, not sticking up for his teammates, not hitting. Sorry, that is not a ‘heart and soul’ player. 176 lb. Petey has 57 hits. Miller has 158, and had 5 last night, lol.
  7. Why did his production spike through contract negotiations, then fell off a cliff once he signed his deal?
  8. The patience on that penalty shot / shootout move is ridiculous.
  9. Tryamkin is left handed, but can play right side, no?
  10. Sorry you can’t handle anyone criticizing him because of your infantile infatuation. Your responses are so over the top emotional. Infusing your long AF rants with terms like cogent and obtuse are not making you sound smart. You’re just embarrassing yourself. Please stop. Just watch the video and be grateful this is no longer our standard.
  11. The topic is Horvat being permissive, which isn’t ideal in a Captain. Especially one who has the size to be a deterrent. It’s a bad look.
  12. Exactly. That was also a different era, where enforcers existed for this exact purpose. Gretzky had McSorley & Semenko. Sakic had McLeod and others. Horvat could have sent a message to Sergachev and Domi and didn’t. There’s no defending that. That’s not ’heart and soul’ player behavior. I don’t want our team identity to be “it’s okay to bully us, we have no push back” That’s one reason I don’t miss Horvat, and am glad for an updated leadership group. A few games ago, Petey and Quinn got in someone’s face that took an extra whack at Demko after the whistle. JTM does this regularly. Big improvement.
  13. Let me help you out with logic and comprehension, Toews. You imply: A. loyal fans proclaim their love for a player, then remain loyal B. you are a loyal fan It holds, then, that you (as a loyal fan) have proclaimed love for that player. Why are you backpedaling so hard? Realize how infantile it sounds? Maybe it’s why you’re so worked up hearing some fans don’t miss Bo? You use terms like ‘logically inconsistent’ and ‘sample size’ the way a toddler wields a pipe wrench. Clumsy and inaccurate, and a little bit adorable.
  14. Thanks for the Huggy bear, fella. You get ‘rough games,’ for resorting to lame personal attacks.
