Absolutely correct. Whether or not OJ pans out eventually, we have Petey for his career as a result of how things played out, and that, my friend, is the most game-changing pick we could ever ask for :D
-
The thing about that draft class is that there was no consensus on the BPA after the top 4, so that's why JB & Co drafted for position.
-
It hurts for now, but if OJ can get, and stay, healthy and continue to develop into a NHL dman then he will become the type of dman that you trade someone like MT for. I'm not a person of faith, but I'm prayer that OJ can get healthy, or else that is an unbelievably big loss for our club.

I think that's a full brag Seriously, can't wait for this guy to make the team. Seems like he has a high ceiling - I wonder what that'll end up being?

Not a case of irony but rather hypocrisy

BC Premier Horgan Says Changing Time May End Soon
Jester13 replied to DonLever's topic in Off-Topic General
I'm all for it, simply so that I can stop hearing colleague after colleague talk about it like they have nothing else to talk about. -
Kirk McLean disagrees

I get Benning's long-term plan with stop-gaps, aging vets, yada yada yada, and I agree with it all, but man-o-man will I be escatic when we hit the next stage of our plan and guys like LE are gone.

I'm with you on your excitement, Alf. I, too, think Quinn will be unbelievable for us. The best part is, is that we haven't even had a chance to see him play with guys like Petey, Brock, and Bo. We think he's good now... oh, man, he's going to be even better than we think.

So far it's a small sample size, but I would include Schenn with the other two in Benning's best pickups this year. Schenn has impressed me a lot in his short sample so far. He's been laying the body, clearing the crease, pushing and shoving after the whistle, etc.; basically, he's doing everything that we wished Guddy would do these past few years. And his contract is an absolute steal compared to Guddy's. Anyways, Pearson, I think, will pan out for us moving forward and should add some much-needed size and push-back from our forward group.
-
He's coming back - all signs point to yes. The fact that he's waiting until his current contract expires is admirable, and the fact that he left because of WD is equally as admirable :D Hughes and Tree will be the best top pairing in the league. Book it. Seriously, Greener is the perfect coach for Tree because of how honest and caring he is. I. Can't. Friggen. Wait.

I see what you're saying, but I personally think QH makes plays that would work with better skilled players, such as he will experience in the NHL, and don't work with his peers because they don't think/play at a high enough level as him. He's too good for his level and needs to be in the NHL asap. If JR continues his trajectory then we certainly will have something special. If we can eventually have two or three pairings with a pdm and stay-at-home dman, then yeesh the league better watch out for our Nucks. Fingers crossed Benning & co. did, in fact, find another gem in JR.

Ahhhhh I see. I'm both glad and sad, as I kinda was hoping they might've been our new colours that would look good with the orca logo but also kinda want a new logo altogether. Edit: shows how much I've been paying attention to the AS game this year

Anyone else see this latest Canucks Instagram post about the jersey made with recycled material? Maybe it's just because it's underwater, but it looks to me like new colours that might match the black/white style of an actual orca. Is this possibly the first hint of what we will see with our new jerseys?

Demko got the Canucks media treatment today with a stupid question asking him details about what he's been working on from watching tapes. I love his response of disbelief that he was being asked to dig in the weeds, but m'gawd our media sucks. Anyone know what are other teams' media are like? Do they ask such ridiculous questions to their players such as we've seen ours do over the years? Anyways, I can't wait to see this guy settle into our lineup. The future is now, and it's getting more exciting with each week that passes.

Watch Green's postgame interview. I echo his sentiments of how the team responded.

They actually played their best hockey of the game after he left. The play of Price should not be overlooked. If you look at player's comments after the game (from both teams) you'd see that the Nucks had some grade A chances and he stole the show.

Bo, hands down. I would bet a full paycheck that he'll be the next captain. Speaking of Bo, tho, he seems like he's playing hurt the last few games, no? I just don't see his usual speed lately. I can see that he wants to, but I feel like something is up with him. Anyone else notice this?

Ooooorrrr, and hear me out cause I'm just spit balling... he doesn't think it was a dirty play!

It is a little disappointing seeing this thread get bumped so many times and thinking there's new news on Tree only to learn again that it's still a reunion party. Maybe a PM convo would be better next time. Just a piece of friendly advice

Either your reading comprehension is worse than I originally thought or you're just trolling now. Either way, enjoy the game today.
